  1. Check the fuse box located on top of the battery, look for blown fuses & for signs of burning/ melting. The large cables that go to it are notorious for causing problems due to bad crimp connections.
  2. Quite a few topics on this, take a look and decide yourself. 🙂
  3. Thanks to everyone who's been on updating their SE ownership. I've got a couple of pages to work through, but I'll get them updated as soon as I get some time. 😊
  4. I've seen other get this error with the pickup pipe too. So while you're there, get this done to. Clean out the sump, new gasket seal and new pickup pipe with bolts.
  5. If the car is running fine I would clear the code and see if it comes back. It could’ve had a funny moment and it does happen, quite often it seems with the code. 16395/P0011/000017 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced) Possible Symptoms Power Loss Possible Causes Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) faulty Fuel Pump Relay (J17) faulty Mechanical Timing not correct, including Chain and/or Belt timing. Possible Solutions Check Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) Check Fuel Pump Relay (J17) (applicable for vehicles with J17 only) Check Mechanical Timing I would keep an eye on it, if you’re worried. Take it to a garage that you trust to do a few checks.
  6. If you have checked the loom for continuity on all of the pins across the blocks and there are no breaks, then you’ll have to go down the route of getting into the door and replace the locks. Full guide here; Decent after market locks are around £17 each. And, as much as I wanted to keep it OEM, the originals are far to expensive. I use aftermarket ones from eBay and a year later, they’re still working perfectly fine.
  7. The bedding in process can be up to 500 miles of mixed driving. Some do less, but it's just to play it safe. Keep your eye on it, as some lighter flywheels (if you previously have a single mass flywheel) will rev up quicker due to being lights. If you feel there is a problem, get the garage to have a look over it.
  8. The reason my black one is back n the road is so I can use it around London. ULEZ stopped my diesel and I refuse to change the car because it’s cheap to run. So, when I need to visit London and the outskirts now, I take black VRS for some fun. I think we will be going up another Euro for 2030 now which will screw up our 1.8Ts… 😒
  9. I'd be looking at the ECU map. Any proof of who has done it? Is it a generic slap on map? If you can get access to an original or someone that might have a deimmobilised ECU and try that.
  10. Similar thing to me. I purchased extra's to tackle my gearbox.
  11. View Advert MK1 Octavia VRS CORRIDA RED (04/05) Rear Bumper x2 £100 (EACH) Excellent Condition, just been taken out of the garage. Items do have a couple of tiny scratches from storage (much to my annoyance). They will be cleaned prior to collection. - 1 Bumper has reversing holes cut into the black bump strip/bumper (after market). This will be perfect for the same replacement, or simply buy a new rear strip from Skoda/TPS. - 1 Bumper has no holes for reversing sensor. P.S. Don't ask for the bump strip, yes they are original, but they will be going with the bumper. Advertiser DeanVRS20VT Date 14/11/21 Price £100 Category Parts for Sale Shipping Estimate £0
  12. Firstly, let me just state that there might/will be slight differences between the VW/Skoda/Audi/Seat range of these engines (in regard to the clutch master cylinder, etc). But, this guide will certainly help in learning the process on how to change a clutch and/or flywheel. Excellent work from a guy who does this daily.... And, on his back for that matter. I'm certainly addicted to his channel. Please refer to your HAYNES manual for exact torque settings and procedures. Or, see our topics on specs.
  13. That looks very smart in Red. Very, very nice!

    Welcome to the community!
  15. I reckon the door sill and it’s creating a puddle on the bottom of the door and trickling down. So, get a bucket or hose. Sit in the car and get someone to poor water until you see it coming in.
  16. Hi and welcome to Briskoda!
  17. How's the car @jules68leo??
  18. Right, so you could only spec it on an elegance, at an extra cost. Which tally’s up with the pictures above. Obviously a rare option and probably wouldn’t take much to get it retrimed in the VRS style.
  19. It's overpriced, that's for sure. Let us know how you get on.
  20. Nicely done. Be worth taking the whole loom out and going all over the wires and then protect it all with new tesa tape, to help stop the corrosion.
  21. This was my original thinking. Other regions also got the rear seat arm rest, and auto wipers.
  22. You sure it's not the clutch.. 😆 Neither of mine do.
  23. So, I thought I'd update this post as I've just come across this (to me), the most well spec'd out Octavia I've seen. This L&K seems to have electric seats? So I gather this must've been an option from the factory, unless it has been retrofitted, but I can't see it being in this example. Multi-fuction steering wheel also, which is a nice touch. It has Xenons too.
