  1. Road materials make up such a part of road noise. Some roads lately I've been on are whisper quiet, and as soon as you hit some old roads, it bloody horrendous!
  2. Enjoy it, there are plenty of threads on the site to explore. Here's a couple. Remapping
  3. Bearings on the alternator or waterpump?
  4. I've never had a filter get wet. This is due to the 'scuttle panel' covering it with drain holes.
  5. As above, those are covered by insurance and don't come up MOT regulations, where the others do. It's not really clear unless you delve into the Act and laws of all this, and it gets all too confusing. But, I hope we've helped.
  6. That would be wise. We're here to help and not offer daft advice as seen on Facebook. And, as Dave said they'd use the 'Construction & Use" act, would cover any car that left the factory, alterations then make it illegal. i.e. removing a back box which is there from the factory. Of course, there is common sense and not all officers are out to get you. But, if you happen to come across a joint operation of Police/DVLA, and they find something like a decat, they prohibit the car from the road, and you'd require a new MOT. GCM on Youtube did a great series covering a lot of this with a Police officer.
  7. If he knows his stuff, he’ll advise somewhat similar to what I’ve said. As my advise is gathered from here over the years and my own remapping. Also, don’t get caught by the plod as they’d have a field day with no back box or cat.
  8. If you’ve had a custom dyno and since changed the hardware, it’s recommend you go back and have it redone to match. Having a 3”straight through is a little much in my opinion. Is it a decat or do you have a sportscat installed? Also, are you actually running a ‘dump valve’? As these are not designed for our engines, and you should be running a ’Diverter Valve’. Take it back to your mapper and let him work his magic.
  9. I'm usually one for keeping things stock/oem. But, my god what a difference just a simple remap makes. I have a standard example and I have a remapped version, and the difference is night and day. The vRS really should've left with 200/210BHP. If you're thinking about it, there are a couple of options that you could do. Badger5 or R-Tech are the places to go for tuning, there are other places which I'm sure some will recommend. Only one thing to add, if you remap, factor in a clutch replacement as a precaution. Do NOT get a generic off the shelf remap, always go custom/dyno.
  10. This is true. However, I'm slightly disappointed it isn't from the Milky way.... 😩
  11. Got one in mine, helpful to stop stuff rolling around. I'd have it if you don't want it? Happy to cover costs, etc.
  12. Bump - Anyone able to offer assistance?
  13. If you can send me a PM, and confirm some info from your old account. I’ll get this sorted out for you.
  14. I second this. I use Orsam when they're not £90 a bulb lol. Or the Philips extreme is a good alternartive too.
  15. It's a royal pain. I'm using the vRS now. So when the new year kicks in, I'll sort my insurance out and get my black vRS back on the road.
  16. Yeah, I followed the car to see their general location. I was hoping she'd pull up near some shops so I could ask about it (without it looking remotely creepy, lol). Not looking forward the next expansion, my PD130 will have to go too. I might just store it away somewhere.
  17. I'm currenlty on the look out for one myself! That's it! I posted it on the last page. Do you know the SE number?
  18. Saying that, I saw an older lady drive a SE VRS Fabia in Selsdon a couple months back. You seen it around?
  19. The MY51VRS? No, that's someone elses. It's been there for some time and I drive past it often. You'll know when you see mine, it has Xenons and washer gets on the front bumper.
  20. Yeah, don't do what I did and dig out a loom for 4 hours from a mates L&K! 😆 I'd like the cloth ones personally and to get the middle part retrimmed to match the rest of the interior. As much as I like mine, I'm not a massive fan of leather.
  21. On the button I reckon, as long as the battery have been charged. I topped up both of my batteries with a full charge overnight in preparation for this cold weather.
  22. That really wouldn't take a lot to get another years ticket. The other stuff (advisories) can be done over time.
  23. Just seen 971 seats which was missing off the list.
  24. Get any side of the vent from an Octavia and just swap out the fins. 👍🏻
