  1. Completely normal.
  2. I’ve got them at home somewhere, I post them tonight. As I’m planning to do all four of these plus the seals and door cards.
  3. Check the lever to make sure it's not bent out of place. If it happens again, you can probably wiggle the lever around and catch it on the release. Also, check your bolts to make sure everything is tight.
  4. Yeah, I was actually going over it last night.
  5. Not that I found. Any sort of paint is going to chip there I think, but at least this is a cheaper way of doing it.
  6. Be worth keeping, Craig did so much to that Banana Estate. You’ll only want another, maybe if you do have the space than sorn maybe a good idea. 👍🏻
  7. What you got now?
  8. As in their notes. The lighter requires more engine braking which is ideal for track use. If it’s your daily for the road I’d stick to the standard weight. I got the 10KG in mine. And, you really don’t need to go for a 6 speed conversion. There’s very little in it and our boxes have extremely long ratios. 6th gears just mean more changing. Don’t get me wrong, a lot have done it but I can’t see much benefit personally. Plenty of info on here about such conversions, use the search function or Google. 👍🏻
  9. How you getting on with the car?
  10. A warm welcome to the community! (and by community, I mean the MK1 of course ) Check out the projects threads as there are a few of us who keep a diary of the progress of our MK1's. My self currently have 2 VRS's and 1 L&K Estate, Skinny has his VRS, A1TopDog is currently restoring his ex Police car back to its former glory, niceyellow vrs, Sheb and Group1RS are the most active. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/207-octavia-projects/
  11. To me it is, as I’m always on the look out for them! And, I wish you still had it as I would’ve tried to purchase it off you. It seems your old one has probably been scraped now as it hasn’t been taxed or insured since 2012. But thanks for letting me know. Do you have any pictures that you could send via PM? I really want to top spec VRS Estate in Red to match my hatchback or even find one breaking or sparks/repairs so I can transfer it all over and retro fit it. Thanks for replying. 😁
  12. As above with my message, I would think the pump has died. The only way to really know is take it out. But depending on mileage, you may as well replace it.
  13. I'm amazed if the original clutch or not uprated even lasted Stage 2, even a Stage 1 with a Shark remap from Ben killed mine a few years back. Now I run a Darkside Billet G60/VR6 setup and Stage 2. Some details here:
  14. I'm not a mechanic but we have guides on here to help you do that at home. Always worth having a go, to save money. Best of luck with it all.
  15. Why are you spending £282 on a fuel pump when you can pick up an oem or uprated ones for £50? It might be worth going to your local garage (that you trust) to let them look over it.
  16. Coilpack would put it straight into limp mode and mode likely run on 3 cyclinders. For the year and Mileage, it really wouldn't hurt replacing it so you can rule it out.
  17. Sorry: 152417531957 We're talking about the cans which give that textured effect. Quite common to do the front grille (which is what I did) as it's easily removed.
  18. If there's no real damaged to it, get a pressure washer and spray off the rest of the Plastidip (could also use some WD40 to help it along). Then order a few cans and spray over the top once cleaned. Do around 3/5 coats leaving 30 mins to dry after each coat.
  19. Lift up the back seats and give a good thump on the housing and see if the sound changes when trying to start it up. If it does or it springs it back into life then you know it's on its way out. I did then when I was stuck in a car pack and it got my home haha.
  20. Only options I know are the FIS (MFD1) which was £1500 optional extra and comes with the Satnav. This mine: You can find virgin units or even order them from Skoda/TPS but they will cost a bomb. So the other options is to go aftermarket with something like the Color3DMFD. Full colour change. Prices start at around £250 and you’d need to send the clocks away to get them done or if you’re handy at soldering, there’re instructions to do it yourself. Needle sweep will depend on which type of cluster you have (version).
  21. Probably wrong here, but it's not oil starvation is it while going around the corner, which could mean the pickup is partially blocked?
  22. If it’s the original pump it’s possible that it’s in it’s way out and not uncommon. A spare can be had for £50 and easy enough to swap out. I would also check the whole assembly to while it out making everything is secure.
  23. I ignore these altogether now. It’s not hard to pick up a sub 100k for about £1200/£1400. It would have to be very special and in absolute mint condition to be asking good money. You’ve got this one and two estate near 3.5k at the moment and they won’t sell for that. A decent estate will go for 2k. There are few common people that are selling Fabia’s and Octavia’s for top money and making a song and dance about it. For now, it’s not quite there yet. Give it a few more years with the way that they’re getting broken every week.
