  1. No, as it's not hard to swap them over. The bases (the electrics) look exactly the same from the Superb model. Either way, they're not from an MK1 Octavia. They also could be from other models in the VAG range, MK4 and Bora for example as they're a direct fit. This is the same seat in a MK4 Golf
  2. They look like they are from a superb.
  3. @mac11irl You're a star! Thanks for that, I keep forgetting the Ambiente too!
  4. I’m pretty sure our MK1s Octavia’s never had an option for electric seats, even more so in an Elegance which is the basic of basic trim levels. Are they retro fitted or did you mean the MK1 Skoda Superb?
  5. None of the production models were remapped as they all come from the same factory. They simply got the machines to paint them white without too much interruption to the production line once offered to the Police. If all the forces got their orders in on time they would get a white one, but it was only a very short run as far as I'm aware. The Police will never have a car modified (remapped) due to insurance and safety to which they would be liable. Looking forward to the progress!
  6. I got lucky with that and I was looking for months everyday. A MK1 Black VRS estate has just sold with them from factory. A guy put it up for sale yesterday and it’s already sold. If you can find an L&K in the breakers, see if you can get the Xenons. You will need all the other parts too and it’s quite involved.
  7. You must’ve beaten me by hours, lucky sod. Let us know how you get on too, and if you haven’t done so yet. Create a thread in the project area so we can all keep up to date. I’ve actually just made a new thread about my Black VRS, there’s a picture in there which has the layout of wiring for the comfort indicators. If you get lost, watch Humble Mechanics video. Always best to contact me on here.
  8. Worth getting the car cleared of codes and then rescan to see if it has stored any error codes to investigate. I did have a similar issue and mine turned out to be the fuel pump, but I think this is more to the point that I was running a stage 2 and didn't bother to upgrade it.
  9. I’ve heard to stay away from the 2.5 V6 and the 2.0. I haven’t any experience in these engine so I can only go by what others are saying but I know the 1.9TDi PD engines are fantastic. I have a PD130 MK1 Estate for work and they’re quite fast for what they are.
  10. Hi @JCV13, there's plenty of advice in the MK1 Superb section. I don't think you can go wrong with the PD engines, with regular maintenance they will go on forever! These usual come very well spec'd, including heated seats, maxidot, cruise control and parking sensors. So make sure everything works and it's got a good service history.
  11. If you happen to be buying them of a guy called Alan, be sure I shall have to hunt you down... The wiring is different compared to the Octavia. I'm looking for a set to go in my L&K which I believe are plug and play. If retrofitting a few people have used the Golf MK4 heated switches which in my eyes doesn't look right. So, if you're buying a wiring loom, I'd probably go for the Octavia with the switch but, make sure it comes with the relays and then match up the wiring (The octavia heated seat switch has both dials in one unit, hence the need for separate relays.). I think you only need a 12v and ground to get them working. I found this thread which is for the Fabia but it should be to dissimilar - Also, here is the wiring diagram for the MK4 Golf which should help identify the wires. To make one's life easier, you could go for the Kufatec loom and then source the relays from TPS/Skoda https://www.kufatec.com/en/skoda/octavia/octavia-1u/cable-set-seat-heating-for-skoda-octavia-1u-40303 I have factory heated VRS seats in my MK1, but I wanted to retrofit another set into my other VRS. I wouldn't recommend doing what I did and spend 5 hours stripping the interior of an L&K just for the wiring loom/relays (basically the whole kit) But, seeing as I had a massive area and the whole day I didn't mind. Pictures here: As it's all factory for me it's just a matter of moving the loom into my VRS and connecting it.

  20. I believe that just connects to the metal pipes on the side of the engine. If you remove all the airbox you'll see the pipe where they usually say cut the pipes from instead of having to move the whole bracket. Should be in Bowders guide for reference.
  21. Braver than me doing that. It's not something I want to tackle, so props to you! Let us know if you notice any difference.
  22. Very common issue. Check the door seal and inside/behind the door cards to make sure the plastic door coverings are in tact. Double check under the scuttle panel (both sides) as there are two small bungs which you can see straight into the footwells. Drivers side should be the bonnet release cable and the passenger side will just have a bung if it's there.

  24. Ordered/Registered/Collected list for the MK IV Fabia. So who is going to be the first on the Briskoda community to order?
