  1. Don't recognise it myself but it looks aftermarket to me, clamp for a mudflap or part of a towbar perhaps. Google Lens comes up with a few suggestions, including a Volvo oil cooler. How big is it? Are the bolts welded to the plate? A better lit photo on a white background would help.
  2. Sachs is a brand name of ZF who are one of the original equipment suppliers so they should be fine.
  3. Best get it back to whoever deleted the DPF and get them to fix it then. Good luck at MOT time...
  4. Smoke and lost power suggests an air leak between the turbo and engine inlet manifold. MAF fault occurs because less airflow is measured than the ECU expects. Smoke shouldn't be getting past the DPF though so there may other issues.
  5. Clearing data and cache worked perfectly, thanks both.
  6. I've just got my Google Pixel 4a phone back from having its battery replaced during which it was factory reset and restored from backup. Now Android Auto no longer works, I get the message "Check the setting on the mobile device and the connection." on the car screen when I connect the phone. I have already set "Start Android Auto automatically" to "Always" and "Use USB for" to "File transfer/Android Auto". I guess there's another setting that I need to change, any ideas?
  7. I've had similar with one odd tyre fitted, repeated resets eventually stopped the false warnings.
  8. Good luck, in my case, the impact of the pheasant ejected the grille! You might be able to push the grille out from behind with less risk of it breaking. Don't waste your money on aftermarket grilles, very poor fit and flaky chrome.
  9. The black honeycomb pattern grille pulls out leaving the light behind and revealing the screws. There should be a wire tool with a hook on the end in the boot for this purpose.
  10. You have to get the grille off, the foglight is held by four screws screwed in from the front.
  11. Have a look here, foglight: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/SUP/851/9/941/941041 bumper: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/SUP/851/8/807/807010 wheel arch liner: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/SUP/851/8/821/821015 Looks like you have to pull the grille off which will reveal four screws holding the foglight.
  12. You have misassembled the wire spring - it should go the other side of the ledge on the carrier bracket, as shown below. No need to ask me how I know!
  13. I had similar problems with my wife's Peugeot - it was returned from a garage with poorly fitted wheel trims. There's a stiff wire hoop clipped to the back of the plastic trim and they'd managed to get one or two of the clips outside the hoop instead of inside.
  14. I've had the same after having to change one tyre while the rest are part worn. Keep doing the resets, eventually it will sort itself out.
  15. Auto-dipping and xenons were definitely not standard on SE Business spec but it might have been added by the first owner and there were a few early cars with some bonus features included. Do you have the triangular camera aperture on the windscreen?
  16. Another thing to check would be the speedo readings against a GPS device - I find the both analogue and digital speedos read a consistent 3 mph higher than the GPS speed in Waze. Perhaps the digital display is reading high!
  17. That would affect both the analogue and digital speedo though. My first thought is that the analogue needle is sticking sometimes.
  18. Those were the first warnings I got when the battery was failing but then the warnings were only at start up.
  19. It looks like the silver part in your second picture has notches for a tool to engage with. You could make something to fit by grinding the end of a suitable sized socket.
  20. All the time or at a particular load/speed condition?
  21. A new battery will almost certainly fix all those errors
  22. I wouldn't be so sure, have a read of this https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=&t=2078589
  23. This is correct. However, the buttons must have the same functions and you can't swap the buttons from a standard wheel to a wheel with paddles.
  24. That's right, but only if you already have paddles. Buttons from a non-paddle steering wheel don't have the extra connectors needed for the paddles.
  25. Don't think the Octavia wheel is compatible - the buttons are different.
