Engine running makes no difference to basic bleeding of the brakes just alters the pedal pressure if doing it the old 2 man way, if a pressure bleeder was used makes no odds as @KenONeill said needs VCDS to put the ABS into service mode to get any air trapped inside out

My Touareg has sensors on all 4 corners but other VAG have one front one rear on opposite corners

Only a physical inspection will show which sensor has triggered the warning you can't tell with diagnostic kit

As it's such a low torque figure and there is no specified sequence I don't think it really matters the sequence, just to do diagonally so yes you could use 8-1-4-6 5-3-2-7 ???

Looking at the dealer workshop manual there is no specified pattern for the rocker cover bolts, only the torque of 9Nm so I would just use the normal diagonal clockwise like this 1-8-6-4 3-5-7-2

The end cap on the drivers door will pop off to reveal a normal key slot
