  1. +1 on this. Having worked in dealerships I certainly wouldn't trust the pdi/valet teams often outsourced who couldn't give a monkeys. Easy enough job to do yourself and do with care, easy to damage the paint removing badges incorrectly.
  2. Thanks for such an informative article. I like to run in a car but now realise I have got a few things wrong! I'm about to take delivery of a 2.0 TSI DSG, my biggest problem will be patience, I don't do much more than 5k a year now I've retired, so it will take a good six months to fully run in!
  3. Nearly £40k? they're optimistic! There are also three on the Autotrader site from Simpsons in Preston, I'm guessing they are some of the cancelled orders too.
  4. Are you in the UK? I ordered mine on June 5th and the car was built on the 8th August, same model as yours, maybe on the same boat?
  5. In recent years the criteria for becoming a "legend" has changed, an easier title to attain in this world of instant global media. Yes CF is now a legend with three TDF wins and as already commented should he go on to dominate other great tours he will become a "legend" in what I regard the true sense of the meaning.
  6. I'm still in conversation with SUK (Kate) and whenever I mention NCDs ongoing involvement with the sale of Skodas she tells me they are "pre registered" but it clearly states on the NCD website in bright red capital letters and I quote "PLEASE NOTE OUR VEHICLES ARE FIRST REGISTERED TO YOU NOT PRE REGISTERED"
  7. Carolines' Mrs Merton and her writing of the Royle family makes her a hugely talented person imo, poor girl was up against it all her life but still managed to bring warmth and humour through her varied work.
  8. A Merc was my office during a long career as a chauffeur with a range of nice backdrops along the way.
  9. Over the past few months we have witnessed two of the biggest shocks in the history of English football, Leicester, now this, it's not a co-incidence.
  10. I chose my own dealer, funnily enough part of a group I use to work for (Motorline), a reasonable discount, not quite NCD numbers, but those numbers turned out to be worthless anyway!
  11. Hello mate None of us got any recompense from our cancelled orders as far as I know. Regardless of this episode I find Skoda no different from the majority of marques, they're all as good and bad in similar portions from my experience. For the price I don't think there is a similar alternative to the Superb which I still think is a great car so my order through a dealership remains and I hope to collect the car on Sept. 1st.
  12. I spoke to Kate just before you I guess, thanked her for being a polite messenger over the last month, pity she was unable to forward even the slightest morsel of goodwill. I nearly posted this morning that today would be a good day to announce bad news, I wasn't wrong. Here's hoping that all those with cancelled orders have luck and pleasure from whatever cars they end up purchasing be it a another Skoda or another marque. It's been a right p in the a but in the great scheme of things..................
  13. Yes I am a new poster to the forum, the reason being I am buying my first ever Skoda and unfortunately took the wrong route selecting NCD. From day one of the cancellations I have attempted to find the truth (got knowhere near it yet, but won't give up). I feel desperately sorry for those that were so close to receiving their cars. Throughout this time I have remained respectful to other members and have treated this thread in the same way.As has been said this thread is being sidetracked, derailed and becoming an embarrasement given some of the comments and UncleWang has decided to make it personal some of which has been deleted. I won't respond to further comments from the chap and can only hope he tires and leaves the thread giving those that are still looking for an outcome a better chance.
  14. I really wish you'd leave the room. From day one you have blamed Skoda and said this was "out of the hands of NCD", strong claims without a shred of evidence. You have told us that neither yourself, friends or family will ever use Skoda again. You tell us Skoda CS is useless. It is now clear that you ordered a £30k Superb on a whim without realising the sort of car it is and now realise it is too big and unsuitable for your purpose, strikes me you've done very well out of the debacle. As a few members have stated, a calm unemotional head is required if we are to get anything out of this situation. For me, and I guess most other would be purchasers, our decision to buy a Superb was based on anything other than a whim, it's difficult to find humour at this time. If not for me who you have little if any respect for, please think of those that are still striving to get a resolution from what's looking an increasingly unlikely outcome. I'm all for free speech, please continue to slate Skoda, continue with your style of humour, just elsewhere, another thread, another forum, Mazda maybe.
  15. If that's how you feel why didn't you just walk into a showroom and order your Superb? Bulk buying at reduced prices is plain simple economics, nothing corrupt about it.
  16. I did get the call from Kate, but the usual, "nothing further to add, hopefully we should have something to tell you within 48 hours". I can understand your total frustration, Skoda really should be taking a more proactive approach regardless of who's to blame, a total mess from a pr prospective. Hope your experience with Audi is an all together better one.
  17. Just had a car wow update, new cars £30,800 do the specs look familiar to anyone
  18. Unless I'm misunderstanding this claim, it is completely untrue. On the request of Kate I sent a copy of my NCD order nearly two weeks ago.
  19. There you go, glad you've had a response, all is not lost yet.
