  1. I asked in another of your posts on a similar subject if you are in the habit of listening to music/radio while the engine is not running - are you?
  2. While the engine should not cut out while the vehicle is still moving (above about 2MPH, I think), this does occasionally appear to be an issue with DSG gearboxes. Not aware if there is a fix.
  3. Was the coolant actually low? If so, how much appeared to have been lost?
  4. If the TPMS false alarms persist, especially if together with traction control indications and on the same wheel, have the ABS sensors checked.
  5. The most reliable test is to fully charge battery, allow sufficient time for any surface charge to dissipate, check that all canbus modules have entered sleep mode, then apply test. Important to note that the battery will virtually never be at fully charged state if solely charged by vehicles alternator. (for Micro-Hybrid)
  6. Unless the exact same conditions apply at each time of testing, you can reasonably expect some variation - SOC, ambient temperature, surface charge, status of Canbus modules, etc. will all have some effect.
  7. That is normal - the battery is being discharged while the engine isn't running.
  8. The 'problem' is that the engine is stone cold for at least the first 2 to 3 miles of your trip - plus you are probably pulling heat away from the system for heating. The engine will be running fairly inefficiently until it has fully warmed-up.
  9. I believe that the current change interval is either 120K or 140K miles for TSI, think TDI is the same.
  10. Probably more likely to find the information you require on a VAG website - the engines are identical.
  11. Hello, I'm certain that you will find confirmation of recommended change interval if you Google any official VAG website.
  12. Sorry, I can't recommend a suitable free app, I use a OBD2 scanner (Autophix OM126P) purchased last year to diagnose a turbo actuator problem with SWMBOs Fabia. It's only a fairly basic tool (no adaptation ability) but can read live data. Your problem does look like an issue with your TB control.
  13. It is what the Mk3 is classed as - starting from around 2015.
  14. There have been reports of after market infotainment systems (especially from China) being responsible for parasitic drain - but hopefully, this is not the issue here.
  15. I would not assume that 'Owner mounted leds' would not be a possible issue either.
  16. Ideally, the alternator should be charging at a little more than 14 volts with the battery on load.
  17. Are you in the habit of listening to music for any length of time with the engine not running?
  18. Hello, welcome to the forum. If your infotainment system is presently working correctly, an update is unlikely to change anything to affect the battery charging. Have you checked the alternator charge rate - or battery condition? If the battery is original, it may be approaching its end of life.
  19. ^^^ an excellent practice, I just wish more drivers were as considerate. But instrument lighting not needed until you start moving again - when the dark instruments help serve as a reminder to turn lights back on.
  20. I used to cruise a Shetland 535 - with a 40HP 2-stroke on a single-axle trailer, I was pushing the 750kg limit. Hard.
  21. A way to assess tow hitch weight is to feel how heavy the tow-ball of the trailer is to lift off the ground with one hand - if you are able to do this easily, trailer hitch is almost certainly too light if stabiliser not being used. The tow vehicle rear tyre pressures should be raised at least .2 to .5 bar above normal pressures.
  22. No, a Micro-Hybrid - as yours presumably is.
  23. Another thought - if that RIB has a 100 HP outboard hanging on the stern, the rig could possibly be more than 750kg - what length is it - more than 6 metres?
  24. My maintenance of sealed batteries, especially on these micro-hybrids, consists of regular condition and SOC tests, check of terminal connections, combined with occasional recharging to full SOC. You should by now be aware that a micro-hybrids alternator will not charge the battery to 100% SOC, instead relying on energy recuperation to charge above 75-80% - especially with regular short trips - this can result in hard (non-reversable) sulfation of the plates, which will shorten battery life.
