  1. A pair of them is useful.
  2. Hello, welcome to the forum. Have the battery tested first (as suggested by Tilt) - If that tests out OK, check the ABS sensors as suggested by Berisford.
  3. Does the Mk2 Fabia use throttle by wire? Are you able to look at live data for throttle response?
  4. Hello, welcome to the forum. Have you checked the throttle body for possible sticky response?
  5. I still love my manual 2015 1.4, wouldn't change anything apart from wishing I had specced ACC and possibly, heated windscreen.
  6. Are they more the sort who prefer their designer labels to be on the outside by any chance?
  7. Good morning, welcome to the forum. As the MIL indicator can mean a number of faults, you will need to get the DTCs read to narrow down what is wrong. I assume your first vRS had done 200K miles?
  8. It's hard being patient though, isn't it?
  9. The earlier gear changes will most likely be because the turbo comes onto full boost from around 1500 rpm.
  10. Hello Nick, unless I'm misunderstanding you, you should never rest your foot on the clutch pedal - at the very least, doing so will cause unnecessary wear on the release bearing.
  11. Hello, welcome to the forum. There was a post about a year ago with a similar issue - it turned out there was an obstruction lodged in the filler tube; it was the end of a fuel syphon device!
  12. AFAIK genuine Osram vehicle lamps are made in Germany, highly likely that yours are counterfeit. I believe Amazon has a policy against counterfeit products.
  13. Absolutely nothing wrong with your approach if it provides what you need in a vehicle, is reliable and you aren't constrained by LEZ etc. taxes. Your vehicle may even become a classic one day.
  14. It's your money - current recommendation is for a visual inspection annually. There are many references on the Forum regarding cam belt servicing.
  15. ... And yet my MY16 Octavia AC is still operating well, never been touched! Having said that, have I put the Kiss of Death on it now? 😆
  16. Very possibly NOT genuine. Are they made in China by any chance?
  17. Not according to Skoda, they changed their cam belt change interval, to align with the rest of the world, some years ago - unless the vehicle is operating in 'dust-rich' environment - which the UK is not. AFAIK, belt change intervals are now somewhere around 120-140K miles.
  18. If Shi*Fit say AC isn't holding charge, I'd say it's a reasonable guess that there's a refrigerant leak.
  19. I have seen a reference to a failed Air Quality sensor preventing AC from operating.
  20. Are you aware that Skoda no longer mandates a 5-year cam belt change interval?
  21. Are they genuine Osram? Where did you get them from?
  22. Hello, welcome to the forum. You say your 'aircon isn't holding recharge' Who told you that? Do you mean it is losing gas charge - how was this determined? 'AC Operator' sounds like BS to me - unless they are referring to air duct flaps - AFAIK, the operation of these can be tested via. the vehicles OBD port. Do the air vents appear to work correctly when the heater is used?
  23. Thanks, so you have engine code DKZA. That's a start, suggest that your next action is to get any recorded DTCs read.
  24. The engine code is the 3 or 4 character prefix to the engine number - can be found on the V5 document and is also normally listed on the B pillar label.
