  1. What is the name of this dealer? Were you supplied with a copy of the order form?
  2. Is your Octavia a Vrs 245? According to VAG website, EA888 DLB is a gen3 engine. Are you sure your engine series is EA888 and not EA113?
  3. You can check on a VAG website using the engine number prefix (3 or 4 letters) This engine code may also be listed on the B pillar label. Your engine will be at least Gen3.
  4. Easiest way would be to pull the switch out and follow the wiring loom.
  5. What did the engine air filter look like?
  6. Unfortunately, can't advise on places in your area. Check the plugs as well as the coil packs for cause of misfires. Do you have the total count for misfires? I think there is a limit for acceptable levels of misfire count, above which, it is flagged.
  7. Not sure on the V5 prefix - mine and SWMBOs show all 4 characters. CCZA would be correct for yours. Four CCZA common problems are high oil use (piston rings) stretched timing chain or faulty chain tensioner, ignition coil pack failures and failing PCV valve. Definitely need to check the timing chain, that 1st audio file sounds bad. Does your VCDS scan indicate any misfire count? I'm unable to comment on VCDS parameters, but I believe there is a function that gives a readout for timing chain stretch. See if you can tag one of the members on the VCDS register. Good luck.
  8. Certainly would not expect the pollen filter to look like that after 9 months unless it's been on the Paris - Dakar.
  9. How long ago was vehicle purchased? Did you research vehicle before purchase? Dealer or private sale? Is there a full service record showing regular oil changes with correct grade?
  10. Engine code CCZ ? (4th character = A,B,C,D ?) indicates EA888 Gen2 engine. Strongly suggest getting the timing chain and tensioner inspected ASAP.
  11. I think a 2011 2.0TSI VRS will be a EA888 engine, which has a timing chain. @fy1 your engine code can be found as a 4-letter prefix to the engine number on the V5 document.
  12. I'm certain that it is a legal requirement in UK for the purchaser to be supplied a copy of any contract, what was the reason given by dealer for you not being supplied with one?
  13. Internal condensation on windows is unavoidable and is caused by high humidity and temperature drop overnight. Packs of desiccant will help to reduce, but not completely eliminate problem.
  14. Your new dealer might not be totally unbiased - and might be on shaky ground regarding the deposit, really depends on contract terms. Probably correct on the £1500 penalty fee though. What does the contract state?
  15. You really become just a passenger when something like that happens!
  16. The belt tensioner does not have a drive component, so would not require 'ribs' (act. multiple V) to maximise drive contact. I am sure my Octavia 3 (with AC) aux. belt is flat-sided on the outside.
  17. That belt is definitely fitted incorrectly - as another poster has said, the ribs must be facing against the pulley surface.
  18. It sounds as if your lubricating oil level sensor may be a little oversensitive - suggest doing regular checks using the stick for the future.
  19. The V grooves mainly serve to increase the surface area (therefore grip) of the belt. That belt does appear to be fitted incorrectly, but still waiting on clearer image.
  20. Not clear with that image you post, but are the belt ribs facing the outside as it passes over the alternator pulley? Who replaced the belt tensioner? It looks like either the belt is inside out - or it has been fitted with a twist.
  21. ... and yet the warning indicator shown in the posted image is NOT the GPF one.
  22. Sounds pretty unreasonable if it was a stock vehicle. Looks like a careful recheck of the sales contract needed. Could also come under the category of unfair contract conditions.
  23. GPF regens are unlikely to cause similar issues to DPF as they are done on closed throttle overrun.
  24. Unless your front pads have been changed previously and the rears were not, I'd check why they are so worn - vast majority of braking effort would normally be taken on the fronts.
