  1. That may be true for car engines. It's certainly not the case for motorcycles. In fact, even the recently introduced wide band lambda sensors on BMW bikes aren't used to run the system in closed loop throughout the rev range.
  2. How many miles on it and is it using oil? Having driven one, they are pleasantly torquey at the bottom end. More so than the 16 valve versions. I take it this is something which has only started happening recently?
  3. You're not. It's not about you. I'm having a genuine difficulty about which I'm looking for advice. Are you aways so irascible about everything? If you're unable to help might I suggest finding something more useful to do with your time.
  4. I'm still stuck with this, having attempted to reset one-touch on the rear windows several times. It was all working perfectly before the flat battery incident. Anyone have any ideas...?
  5. I did all that. One touch is working fine on both front windows. As far as I'm aware it's not available on the rears.

  7. Thanks. Yes, I thought I'd done that but perhaps not quite in this order.... https://youtu.be/2A4RneTeJgY
  8. After inadvertently flattening and recharging the battery on my 2016 SE L Drive, the mirrors will no longer fold in if I hold down the lock button on the remote. In addition, holding down the unlock button will only drop the front door windows rather than all four. I've performed the reset on the one-touch front windows which usually solves the mirror folding issue but it hasn't worked this time. Any ideas....?
  9. Did you miss Brexit....? 🤔
  10. Not so much a theory as a hypothesis. EMF's do strange things to electronic devices. A few years ago it was quite common for some BMW motorcycles to fail to start after stopping to refuel. Pushing them away from the pumps would often solve the problem. It seem that the wireless communication between the pumps and the tills was upsetting the immobilisers on the bikes.
  11. Bit of a long shot...is this near the communications tower beside Driftland? https://www.google.co.uk/maps/uv?pb=!1s0x4887cb1216d558cf%3A0xfe753e4febb11a57!3m1!7e115!4s%2Fmaps%2Fplace%2FDriftland%2F%4056.1268232%2C-3.2816928%2C3a%2C75y%2C39.25h%2C90t%2Fdata%3D*213m4*211e1*213m2*211stfw4LSsTncv74L5HSJw3XA*212e0*214m2*213m1*211s0x4887cb1216d558cf%3A0xfe753e4febb11a57%3Fsa%3DX%26hl%3Den!5sDriftland - Google Search!15sCgIgAQ&imagekey=!1e2!2stfw4LSsTncv74L5HSJw3XA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiT55jAtbT4AhVMSkEAHQoKDoQQpx96BAhLEAg
  12. Service intervals - annually or every 10k miles, whichever comes first. DSG service is 40k miles. Ask about when the Haldex oil was changed and was the gauze filter removed from the pump and cleaned. It needs to be but it's not standard practice for any VAG main dealer. I've seen service intervals for the Haldex as low as 20k miles advised recently. Which engine output is it? The most common is the 150 PS TDI. In that case, you might anticipate 40 - 45 mpg average unless you drive very gently. Our 190 TDI tends to return c. 38 mpg overall, driven enthusiastically. HTH
  13. I'm blaming you for putting the rot on the sun...🤪
  14. It's no' shinin' here in the Howe the noo, neebs. However - welcome to the confines of this particular virtual establishment.
  15. 2105 150 TDI will be fitted with EA288 engine which was not subject to the 'Emissions Fix' that was applied to its predecessor EA189.
  16. Having fitted the same Viezu Tuning Box to two of my wife's previous VW Tiguans, I concur with your statement about the optimistic fuel consumption figures on the display. That has not been the case with my previous Golf and my current Yeti both of which were remapped by Angel Tuning. Driven enthusiastically which is why I had the cars remapped anyway, I can easily get my Yeti to show consumption figures in the low 30's mpg.
  17. I suspect you're reasonably close to Angel Tuning who are based in Symington. However, they'd come to you and remap it on your drive or at your place of work. I had both my previous 170 TDI Golf and current 150 TDI Yeti mapped by them. Paul Winston is a very helpful guy who offers excellent customer service, in my experience.
  18. Very interesting J.R. Have you seen this thread...? https://www.t6forum.com/threads/t6_measured-a-comparison-of-4motion-traction-modes.35259/#post-483767
  19. If it still has the DPF in place, I'd be wary about deleting the EGR. They're both part of a system and the EGR is involved in DPF regeneration and removing the EGR will also increase the particle load in the DPF. You'll know better than me about how removing those parts would affect the N.I. equivalent of our MOT test. I'm not a fan of emissions equipment removal as I don't like driving around leaving a cloud of smoke behind me. I did remove the cat' on my old Mk4 Golf GT TDI after it broke in half. It was remapped from 115 bhp to 150. Removing the cat certainly allowed it to rev much more quickly and it would hold its own across country with my remapped Mk5 up to c. 90 mph. As for remapping, my BMN was an 08 Mk5 Golf GT Sport that I bought new. I had it remapped by Angel Tuning when it was c. 5years old and with 50k miles on it. With the plastic manifold with broken flaps still in place, before I learned about that, it made 200 bhp and 330 lbs-ft on a local well calibrated dyno. Needless to say it went even better after fitting the BKD manifold as supplied by the Darkside guys.
  20. PD 170. So it's a BMN engine. Before thinking about the exhaust, I'd advise investigating the intake. Does it have the original plastic intake manifold with the flaps? If so, you'd be well advised to swap it for the PD140, BKD manifold which doesn't have the flaps. The plastic flaps stick and break up and can get sucked into the combustion chambers. Also the spindle bushes wear and leak boost. I found that changing to a BKD manifold produced better performance and drivability and much better fuel economy.
  21. I think it's a case of "They all do that, Sir." Our 2019 Karoq 190 TDI is exactly the same. I believe we have WLTP to blame.
  22. Schtum replied to Bison's topic in Skoda Yeti
Try it. I found that worked on my 1.9 TDI Mk4 Golf c. 20 years ago.
  23. It's possible to have DSG gearboxes remapped and if you want a more direct connection between accelerator and engine response, you can fit a pedal box.
  24. For a road car, peak horsepower really isn't the issue. What will impress you most and feel best is a big area under a torque curve that comes complete with a nice smooth line with no peaks and troughs.
  25. I don't think it's quite so simple. Viz. the recent addition of GPF's - Gasoline Particulate Filters - to petrol engined cars. There's long been a view that the smaller particulates from the exhausts of petrol engined cars lodge deeper in our lungs and cause more harm than those from diesels.
