  1. I would buy a second-hand drivers seat or a good cover to be honest.
  2. Does it still look a sleeper / Q car - those are the best fun on the road. I've had a few...
  3. Just noticed you have a 2.0 Fabia - that was my mum and dad's first one in 2004. So easy going to drive.
  4. Air filter added, thanks. I don't think the Gearbox oil needs changing yet - it's had an easy life and is smooth.
  5. Just calling in from the Yeti forum. My elderly mum's 64 plate Fabia is hardly doing any miles, but its on 40k and due at least an oil change. What would you recommend ? I thinking brake fluid and spark plugs are sensible - anything else ? (I presume cambelt is a daft 140k these days?)

Very respectable. We averaged similar in the last DSG 1.2 we had. I occasionally drive my elderly mum's 2014 Fabia with the same 105bhp engine, and you are right re the aerodynamics as it's regularly doing over 50mpg on the motorway.
  7. Oh...
  8. Why don't you look for a Yeti Green line with the same engine you've got in your Fabia. This looks half decent for example https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202405099543006?sort=price-asc&advertising-location=at_cars&fuel-type=Diesel&make=Skoda&maximum-badge-engine-size=1.6&minimum-badge-engine-size=1.6&model=Yeti&postcode=mk158ba&year-to=2024&fromsra
  9. The opening ones - the vast majority (all?) of VWG models have opening ones. Even the Scirocco we had with one tilted up an inch at the back despite being a large glass panel blended into the windscreen edge. The A8 as an example has a proper sliding roof section as do Tiguans and Q3s etc. Plenty do leak.
  10. I get it. I delayed making a decision on a fantastic Audi with quite literally every option on it last year. The added options alone were more than half the list price. Looked great with the pan roof...
  11. Aargh! End of. Experience is equal to or better than assumed knowledge. My claim is that I'm on my 106th car, about half have been used and 2/3rds have been diesel. All of the diesels I've owned in the last 15 years have had Millers added. EGR issues=0. DPF issues=0. I would call it super-ace oil...
  12. Or, fill up with Premium diesel for the detergents, AND add the Miller's for the trigger chemicals...
  13. Really? You just fill your tank with diesel, then put it in the fuel tank.
  14. Personally, I would start cheap and buy a bottle of Miller's One Shot DPF cleaner for £11 or £12. I would ignore comments saying that it's 'snake oil' because we ran our last 2.0TDI Yeti to 100,000 miles with zero DPF or EGR issues and we just put a bottle in the tank every 6 months, and drove it 30 minutes in Sport mode to ensure that the regeneration / cleaning took place. We've just switched to the final model Yeti TDI which has an AdBlue tank, but you don't need to worry about that ! DPF/EGR cleaning can definitely work as the car gets older but I would try the above first unless you have issues/ symptoms. https://www.millersoils-shop.co.uk/diesel-particulate-filter-cleaner-and-regenerator
  15. Injector related ? My previous Audi started doing that when revved. Replaced all. Or turbo and related pipework?
  16. I bought an Approved Used Audi recently to go with our Yeti which we also just replaced. I deliberately avoided panoramic roofs on both cars despite finding beautifully specced cars at the right price, because of common leaks after 3-4 years or earlier. With the Yeti we're fairly 'lucky' that it isn't packed to the rafters with complex electronic modules to be leaked over. Imagine trying to argue with Audi after 3 years about replacing £2-5k a time components !
  17. No problem. The video one is a Kenwood DNX518VDABS
  18. I'm not vouching for this or the company but I presume you mean this sort of thing?I Kenwood used to supply the Skoda dealer-fit Sat nav units for customers who didn't order the factory unit. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xU8x-mlML04
  19. Genuine question - I've some Yeti wheels to advertise since fitting some new Mattherhorns but is it worth paying to register because it will be a one off, or am I better trying eBay and the rest ?
  20. Sounds like you've got mixed priorities to be honest. The towing question answers itself and you might as well just remap a 1.2TSI otherwise to avoid the roof but get identical performance to a std 1.4. The 1.2 is nice enough especially with DSG which is snappy and makes good use of the torque. I thought my other half would have one this time, but she preferred another loaded diesel (minus sunroof!)
  21. Agreed. I think it's to emphasise the "Lancia Stratos" door line. (See Jeremy Clarkson on this!)
  22. One of the cheapest 'styling modifications' I've done to a car since fitting a TURBO badge to a Toyota Corolla...
  23. £10.99 from eBay, from China ! Bought another set now as much cheaper than vinyl wrapping and they stay stuck and wash well. The only slight negative is the bottom corners come to a sharp point which are easy to catch with a sponge. Solution is to snip the corners off with scissors before fitting.
