Friction noise over 40mph
Glad you're sorting. (My old Audi allroad started like yours at a similar mileage).

Black grille surround advice
Ok, will do, thanks. OEM black grille:- 69.99 + postage. Black Mirror caps:- Failed on Amazon ones even though they should have fitted. Eventually bought from a UK eBay company that supplies and paints. One needed a line of glue to hold onto a clip, but good. Have painted stuff myself but were fairly reasonable. Front and rear grey plastic in bumpers:- it was cheaper to buy scrap yard extra grey bits and leave them with a friendly local body shop for a few weeks to fit in around other work, for cash. Called me when ready to fit the painted ones (2 hours).

Black grille surround advice
Everything on our 2017 Yeti is now de-greyed (bumpers & mirrors) apart from the chrome grille surround, so it's all metallic blue or black. Its Monte Carlo ish with the right wheels on it. I understand that you need to push in the tabs on the old grille frame to release it and I've read that cutting up old credit cards works well (in more ways than one). Anyone changed it themselves and have a better idea before I have a go ?

Wheel bearing ?

Hard wired dash cam.
If you want it hassle free, buy a Black Vue model with the switched cable that plugs into the diagnostics port. I got a factory reconditioned set off eBay with 2 cameras and a years warranty and fitted to my Audi. No hard wiring required but acts exactly like it is. Big thumbs up.

Amundsen sat navin a 2017 yeti
So not plugged in properly after you'd put the Amundsen back in after its screen repair ?😉 (My SD card wouldn't work at first after I replaced the screen myself because it wasn't quite seated).

Amundsen sat navin a 2017 yeti
Ok, last time I'm going to ask. Have you read the owners manual on satellite reception?🤔
-
Amundsen sat navin a 2017 yeti
Er, that's what I said above. The Octavia owner read the handbook and found out if and how many satellites it could see...

Amundsen sat navin a 2017 yeti
This post on Octavia talks about seeing 10 of 15 available satellites, so it must be in a sub menu ? https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/332801-amundsen-sat-nav-total-failure/

Tyre pressure warning and other lights.
I wouldn't be so dismissive actually. If you have a C-Tek charger already, put that on. From experience with two of our eight Yetis 🤗

Did you read the rest of this topic... Battery...?

Part Number source failure
Can't speak for the Eibachs - I had lowered ones about 20 years ago and the ride was terrible, so once bitten, never again. If it's ride improvement, I would have a really good read of all tyre reviews, and not 'just' what people say they have. I had a Volvo hybrid which was very stiffly sprung, so was terribly crashy on local potholed roads, but fine on smoother A roads. I actually ended up buying (counter-intuitively) 18 rather than 17 wheels but fitting some very soft sidewall tyres that tyre review.com and other owners rated highly for ride comfort. I had never heard of them but we're cheap enough to take a gamble. Debica Presto made by Goodyear. Maybe you can find one that works for the Yeti ? I've stuck to Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons and Michelin Cross Climates so far on our Yetis, as the ride is ok but not brilliant in my view.

1.8 tsi 4WD 2012 99k miles
Ok, the 1.8 can clog up and have valve problems, buy the 1.2 and get a re-map. Will that do ? However, when the 1.8 first came out, I test drive one alone around the dual carriageway of Milton Keynes and severely upset a driver of a brand new SLK200, who couldn't get past...

Festival of the Unexceptional - anyone going ?
I'm a bit gutted I can't go on Saturday because of family health issues. It's a great place to see some modern classics and even definitely not classics. If anyone is going, please let me know if there were any of the following:- Toyota Tercel 4wd estate Mazda 323 4wd turbo Skoda 130 ...

Checking over a Yeti before purchase
I hope it's good for you. If you get chance to drive it, you'll find that they handle really well as a 4x4. Not Impreza-well, but far better than they deserve to - I've held some much quicker cars at bay on country roads !

Tyre pressure warning and other lights.
Try turning the steering wheel from full lock to lock, and driving back and forward a couple of car lengths.

Part Number source failure
We replaced our previous 2015 Yeti's with Bilstein shocks, Sachs springs and Febi top mounts. Can't say it felt any different from the originals, which is a good thing I suppose, but no big improvements either- I thought the ride might have improved a little.

Part Number source failure
Eh? Shock absorbers are listed off the LL link / diagrams...Just click front axle, steering again

DSG green brake warning light
Just reassure them that 'if it's green, it's fine'
-
DSG green brake warning light
Is that the hill hold that goes off after a couple of seconds of holding or when you hold the brake pedal to move out of park? Green lights are nothing to be worried about - it's just for information.

Checking over a Yeti before purchase
I'm sure we probably did - Legacy Turbo 96-99 then 3 Imprezas until 2004, when company cars started, then bought this one in 2014 for fun. It's still a blast with the prodrive ECU and sports cat even though it's probably only about 240 bhp. 'Flows' along fast country roads. There should be a Yeti track day, now that would be fun. I'll offer my Impreza as pace /lead/ safety car. There could be a Clarkson-style off road section !

Insurance cost
Yet another reason for holding onto my Impreza Turbo - my premium went down again despite me increasing my 'agreed value' for each of the last 4 years. Just went out for a quick blast - hilarious after the Yeti (which is great)!

Checking over a Yeti before purchase
Sorry, not sure - someone will know. On the Audi they were in the front corners moulded into the plastic frame below where the glass sat. Nice matching pair of Mica blues. Think I'll give mine a run out to the Festival of the Unexceptional at the end of the month - I've always fancied going to see what oddballs are there.

Nice. It's in Northern Ireland by the looks of it, if you fancy buying it back !?
