  1. Worth putting on a trickle charger / CTek if you have one of haven't already tried ?
  2. I don't, but my other half is shorter than me and finds the one in the Audi very helpful...
  3. Toying with the idea of fitting to a 2017 Yeti. It has the head unit model without Sat Nav. Anyone had a go - i'd probably go for the genuine parts (maybe used)
  4. Fortunately in that dealers these days typically diagnose faults then replace whole modules or units, rather than repair them, and the amount of electronics & mild hybridisation affects all brands. My Audi has been in for an extended period of diagnosis but is still running fine. As an example, a faulty LED headlight would be over £2000 each, and that's dead easy to fit...I think a long warranty when you are getting older is a good point, provided you religiously take it back for servicing at the dealer, despite your mileage maybe dropping off. So you invest money in probably less than strictly necessary servicing, but you are protected from major failures.
  5. I've had an Audi courtesy car for the last 2 weeks with the same engine while my Audi is being fixed. Very smooth, economical, not particularly quick but good enough. On the warranty I bought the extended Audi warranty last year (fortunately!) Via the Audi website, and pay monthly for it. I wouldn't have any modern (ie expensive if something breaks) car out of the normal 3 year warranty without one.
  6. Another, newer Yeti it is then !? We got an SEL last time because we couldn't find an SEL Drive 4x4 TDi dsg for a price that wasn't insane, and we avoided the L&K just because of the panoramic roof 'risk'. I think the L&K is available with an electric drivers seat (as well as standard heated screen)
  7. I think the top model has heated seats, so maybe that has adjustable lumbar.
  8. I like the XC40 - it's a good all rounder. I'd still have a look at the latest Dacia Duster though, if you like the less flashy.
  9. Prezafab replied to vRSG60's topic in Skoda Yeti
As above, and I just used a big ad blue and small ad blue bottle to put in the amount in it told me to.

I read on a previous VWG forum that if it's overfilled, the nox sensor gets wonky and it can need recalibrating with vcds. I just have the Carista dongle and app which gives you the tank level but I think thats all. Might be a clue though.
  11. Fitted new AGM Varta battery today - it was the original on the car (yellow paint on bolts) but was getting a bit chuggy when cold starting after 8 years. The Carista was really easy to do the Battery registration with (monitor and CAN bus). Impressed so far.
  12. I see what you mean on the size. Off topic'ish, there are still several Yetis advertised on AutoTrader in the £16-19k bracket. I think that's quite remarkable - a) Because there's still such strong used demand for good ones 8 or 9 years on, and b) People have done low mileage in them but still kept them for years because they liked them a lot!
  13. Can you go back to a Fabia - either the latest or last of the previous shape ? Every model I've driven over the years has impressed me. My mum has just given up driving her 1.2 TSi auto and despite being 11 years old was quick enough, smooth and comfortable - with a drivers seat you can Jack right up ! A mature couple had a 10 hour round trip to buy it and were delighted.
  14. Might have to go out for a 'race' against my other half in the Impreza Turbo. That should clear out the crap!
  15. Ok. Massive irony or coincidence - the light came on for the first time in 6 months today (and went off).
  16. I've bought for the Yeti mostly to put a new AGM Battery on, but it's seems to have some useful functions. For anyone whose used one, Do you know:- 1) What should the dpf soot reading be (2017 Yeti) and is it worth triggering regeneration manually ? 2) There are 2 battery options - one is can bus and I guess the other is the monitor ? Thanks
  17. I think that's a really nicely judged spec. Makes a lot of sense. Shame they don't have a 4wd version in the UK as well.🤗
  18. Is that the main dealer there who wants big money ?
  19. Any reputable specialist who looks after VW Group cars. They just wouldn't warrant the part but provided you supply the correct OEM supplier clutch pack, (possibly Sachs from memory) the majority would just be happy charging you for the Labour / diagnostics / adaption / set up.
  20. I would worry about it if and when it happens, and not before. DSG can be fixed by independent Skoda / VW/ Audi specialists. I once bought a new DSG clutch pack just in case, for the Yeti we had with the highest mileage. Never needed it and sold it on eBay !
  21. Be prepared to travel ! I had an 8 hour round trip last February for our registered Dec 2017,delivered Jan 2018 Yeti in the spec we wanted.
  22. Very good. We also had a look at Mazdas last January (before getting our latest Yeti) and they 're very good value, with usually good dealers. What put us off was that the used values drop off a proverbial cliff after a few more years (unlike the Yeti), into not quite banger territory. I had a long look at the CX60 AWD diesel for myself but it's got suspension issues that made me think twice (it's had 2 upgrades since launch and still not sorted). To be honest, every car purchase is a compromise and the perfect car doesn't exist. Yet. 😃
  23. It depends. Is everyone who bought a Ford Puma driving around in a death trap? It's the UKs best selling car. Adult Occupant NCAP front impact protection scores:- Dacia Duster 28.1 points (70%) Ford Puma 28.7 points (75%) I'd rather have a Kamiq or a Q2 personally (which are safer) but I wouldn't discount a new shape Duster.🤔
  24. It's a well known 'impact' of not fitting the NCAP point scoring electronic driver aids that most people switch off when they get in the car, rather than the structural strength of the car. I'd consider one.
