  1. Thank you for your kind words fellow Chuckle Brother. I haven’t laughed so much since you ran over that bag of tissues.
  2. I like to do it sitting down but some prefer standing up.
  3. You might get Simon Mayo pop up automatically if you get Radio 2 on the DAB.
  4. Eat enough McDonalds Happy Meals and your Liver and Kidneys will not be working so good as God intended. Need proof look at the average American and their ability to withstand a dose of Covid-19 without ending up in Hospital or worse.
  5. Ultimately it is your choice what wheel/tyre you fit to your car but make your insurance company aware just in case you are involved in an accident and they may use it against you if you try and claim. My diesel offers plenty of grip from the standard Continental 235/45R18 tyres.
  6. This is why most women need a husband to sort out the little technical issues they encounter from day to day.
  7. Wife bought a wireless keyboard and mouse and couldn't get it to work. Genius opened the mouse to find the USB wireless transponder thing which should have been plugged into the computer so that the mouse and keyboard can communicate with each other. Not a bad bit of kit for £26 and wife happy now the Mouse lives to fight another day.
  8. Just over 800 calories today and 37km in 1 hour 25 minutes as planned. Day 59 totals now 81 hours and 2,037km.
  9. It was -4C and they were frozen to the blades and I had no de-icer and the front rubber had ripped so had no choice as MOT was in 30 minutes time. Yes I have replaced them before. These were more expensive Bosch Aero Twin which are quieter than the factory wiper blades.
  10. Spark plugs are not necessary on a modern petrol until 50,000 miles or 5 years IMHO.
  11. Drove 4 miles in January to get the wife's Karoq first MOT (29,000 miles exactly) at Kwik Fit who charged £39 and the original air and pollen filter are still in the car as the onboard computer says the second free Skoda service is due in August at 44 months from registration. Will get the brake fluid changed at this time and all front/rear wiper blades replaced at Halfords in January for £49. Having everything done at a Main Dealer will always cost more.
  12. After 24 minutes and 10km this morning reached 46,000 calories. Plan is to reach 81 hours later before the first of my 3 nights this week.
  13. Probably due to previous emission scandal by VW Group hence they had to come clean and make sure the cars they produced going forward after the scandal became public knowledge would only start with a cold engine in Normal or Eco rather than the dirtier more polluting Sport. Sport mode may also damage a cold engine until the oil has reached the proper operating temperature. I put my 2020 Superb diesel in Eco soon after I start it to reduce emissions and with much coasting achieved 60mpg just 2 miles after I left work which is what Skoda designed my 2.0 TDi Evo engine to do.
  14. That’s a very good price. We paid £23,500 for our SEL with 18” Braga alloys including metallic paint new in Jan 2018 with a manual gearbox and the excellent 1.5TSi engine. Passed first MOT in January with flying colours and early 30,000 miles done it has averaged 46mpg. Due to wife working from home I drive it when I work nights and it handles well (now fitted 19” alloys with 235 tyres) is quiet and wife loves it and we plan to keep it at least 10 years. Great car and probably the best compact SUV money can buy and much better and more practical than your old Merc.
  15. 7.5J x 18" alloys plus 225/40R18 tyre I weighed on my Mk3 Octavia was 22.5kg. Guess tyre was about 10kg of the total.

Anti-theft device on VAG vehicles. When you lock the car if someone breaks a window they can't open a door by pulling on the door levers.
  17. Just to demonstrate the importance of ambient temperature to a diesel this morning's commute again 1.5C but no frost to thaw so managed 69.6mpg on the mainly downhill route and return journey (with 9.5C) at one point saw 77.8mpg but ended up being still impressive at 74.1mpg. Now driven 554 miles with 450 miles left in the tank.
  18. People on here have fitted McLaren wheels on a Vrs245 and Bentley wheels on a Superb so why not try BMW alloys?
  19. My Superb diesel is currently looking at 1,600km per tank from 66 litres which is 24km per litre. Cost £1.169 per litre. Much cheaper than a 1.0 litre petrol. That also includes a little blast upto 180kph.
  20. My neighbour has a Silver Kuga but your alloys are nicer.
  21. Only 1.5C this morning so managed 67mpg on the downhill commute to work and on the uphill return home it was 7.5C and got 72mpg. The since refueling average is now 67.1mpg and after 499 miles on this tank there is 500 miles left in the tank. Watching a 4 year old interview with the Boss of Alpina with Joe Achilles and he tells him that Alpina concentrate on lots of torque at low rpm to shoot out of corners quickly making them very usable at real world speeds much like a good diesel.
  22. It's being tuned to 385bhp (390PS) with 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds.
  23. Cupra announce the Formentor VZ5 will have 385bhp and do 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds. Only 7,000 will be made and all LHD so if Cupra UK decide to bring a limited number here they will probably be around £45,000.
  24. Interesting survey done by the AA who asked 12,977 motorists what type of fuel or power would they be choosing in 2030. The results may surprise you. Petrol 30.2% EV 19.8% Diesel 16.8% Hybrids 13.7% PHEV 11.7%
  25. BMW Dealers reporting hardly anyone ordering the new M4 as nearly all orders are for the cheaper, more practical and better looking M3 saloon and no orders for white cars. Isle of Man Green as a free colour option seems popular with Shmee150 and Joe Achilles both placing orders for March/April delivery and Shmee150 selling his M8 Coupe and Joe selling his M2 Coupe to make garage space.
