30 MPG on 2.0 TDI. What could be wrong? (Long)
And what about the 1.5 litres oil consumption in a very short time? We dont know how long or how many miles but the OP did say recently bought. I have driven half a million miles with 3 Skodas and only used 0.5 litres of oil in total, that was on the MK1 1.9 TDi ASV engine where the rings only bedded in after 200K miles and the consumption ceased, also I had gone way beyond the scheduled oil change. Return the vehicle for a refund or you will regret it dearly, this is probably just the beginning of many problems.

Rear windscreen wiper not working
It could be that the fuse layout diagram you are looking at in the vehicle manual is symettrically opposite to your fuseboard, that has been the case on my last 3 Skodas.

Car going into limp mode constantly
26/34 mpg on an ASV does not sound very "fixed" to me, more like fecked! But it sounds like your fuel is free and of a variable quality so I guess the MPG is neither here nor there. What is WVO, waste vehicle oil?

DPF Oil Ash and Soot Level Advice
They oil ash levels are only a calculation from an algorithm anyway, they could be much better or much worse in reality. I am encouraged to see measured soot levels being less than calculated, that to me is a sign of a healthy DPF, the couple of threads running at present where people have blocked DPF's and are suffering constant regens both have measured soot levels significantly higher than the calculated ones.

Front subframe realignment
Subframe alignment kits are a total con and a complete waste of money, the aim is not to align the subframe concentrically within each mounting hole but to align both front and rear axles with each other and the thrust centre line of the vehicle. Ok I know they are not axles as such being independant suspension but once any wishbone adjustments have been made moving the crossmember is akin to moving an axle. If the aim was to be centred they would have used close tolerances, there is a very good reason why the bolt clearance is like a p***k in a bucket!

Subaru rival (Haldex and general skoda modding advice)
A very good description. I followed the same path with the Yeti 108hp with similar results although the claims are much higher, I would say that it has a useable 170hp, possibly the VAG 170 map but with a smaller turbo so drivable from 1K RPM in any gear.

Led sidelights- carista?
I'm not offended in the slightest nor preventing people from doing as they please, it wasn't the cost of the LED bulbs but the £40 for coding I was commenting on. I have just bought LED bulbs for the headlights of my ride on lawnmower, I didn't mind the colour of the light but the 5 watt output (it uses sidelight bulbs) was enough to be seen but not to see by, a packet of 10 cost only €3.25 including delivery from Ali-Express, it wont need recoding for them to work 🤣 I have used 12v LED ribbon lights in the rear luggage compartment of the Yeti and also higher up the C pillars, the existing lights were not sufficient to find anything under the boot floor at night, I didn't mind the colour, just the lack of illumination like on the mower.

30 MPG on 2.0 TDI. What could be wrong? (Long)
The DPF is blocked, 18 minutes and 11km since last regen which failed, that the measured soot is pretty much double the calculated is very bad indeed, when mine shows a calculated 22 grammes the measured will be 4 or 5 grammes. That and the high oil consumption points to it being offloaded via PX by the previous owner due to the cost of repairs.

Engine oil
I only use flushing oil when say recommissioning a classic car that has stood for 20 years and may not have had an oil change for a decade before that. When I do I mix the cheapest most rubbish oil I can find 50/50 with Paraffin. For an equally scuzzy cooling system I use dishwasher tablets or detergent but take great care with the subsequent flushing, neutralisation and protection.

Led sidelights- carista?
Once again I have to point out that the Canbus system has nothing to do with the monitoring of bulb resistances, the function is carried out by the Body control module or Comfort control module or whatever they choose to call it on your vehicle. All the manufacturers saying their LED bulbs are "Canbus compatible" etc are talking rollocks, unfortunately it is so widespread that people are repeating the rollocks. Is it really so offensive to see a slight yellow hue from a sidelight or number plate light that you would go through all this expense and hassle?

EV car tax
I admire your optimism, you only need to look back one or two decades to see unleaded fuels or diesel being initially incentivised and then heavily taxed, same deal with CO2 ratings and road tax. Another clue as to the way the wind is blowing is that cheaper off peak electricity is nowhere near as beneficial as it once was, to have it you pay a higher standing charge (in France at least, I'm not up to speed with the latest UK offers) and pay well over the odds for the rest of your daytime consumption, that is definitely happening in the UK, also the off peak hours have dropped from 8 to what is it now, 4 hours a night? Hardly incentivising when you look in detail. Here in France its 8 hours off peak, the start and finish times are staggered to reduce the changeover load, many people have a plage d'horaires where they get 6 hours off peak at night and another 2 hours at mid-day, that was excellent for people cooking lunch, putting the washing machine, drier or dishwasher on etc, also very good for storage heaters. Because of the limited generating capacity this winter they have made a very swift law amendment allowing them to remove the 2 hour mid-day cheap rate from October through to March and its already implemented, they say it only affects immersion heaters (which is what people associate off peak tarif with) which is a complete lie and anyone with the slightest technical knowledge would realise that consumers are paying a higher price for every appliance consuming electricity during those 2 hours, more even than households on a standard tariff but it goes unchallenged and all the media even the QueChoisir the equivalent of Which Magazine are naively trotting out the same rubbish. Your SmartMeters are a lot smarter than you realise and whoever runs the National Grid can cut down the maximum load you can draw at any time or cut you off remotely, with that amount of control it's highly unlikely that there would ever actually be any power cuts, just a reduction in what you can consume and when.

CanBus error after infotainment change
I think maybe when I removed the radio from the installation list the new one no longer powered up or perhaps the steering wheel controls for volume etc did not work. I'm afraid I suffer from memory loss so am guessing but i know in the end I just had to live with the recurring fault codes.
-
CanBus error after infotainment change
On my last 2 vehicles I have never succeeded in stopping the error, even removing the radio module from the installation list did nothing, knowing that the Chinese head unit I fitted is at the very least recieving data from the canbus and possibly sending it as well (shut down signals etc) I even tried selecting each of the other possible audio units from the menu, same result. When I sold the last vehicle I gave the owner a fault code print out and explained the reason, it's actually 2 fault codes but can't recall the details, I gave him the original radio and said if he wanted to return to that it would no longer have the fault codes. I understand the OP's frustration, you want a clear score card, each time it says "2 fault codes recorded" there is a second or so of doubt before the same ones come up again.

Headlights - travelling in EU
French registered at the start of the confinement. If the vehicle is not loaded its unlikely that you will be flashed anyway, even moving them down to the maximum setting does not significantly reduce the distance of illumination and not at all on main beam, open your mind and try it, I guarantee you will see far more of the road ahead than with beam deflectors, masking a headlight is far more effective. These days most oncoming vehicles dazzle me and its nothing to do with not having headlamp deflectors or being overloaded but the appalling matrix headlights, I find I have to use my dipping rear view mirror nearly all the time at night now until the driver behind sits on my bumper as they are taught to do 😆

30 MPG on 2.0 TDI. What could be wrong? (Long)
I agree with Varoom, you must as a matter of urgency sort out the blocked DPF causing the constant regens, that your oil level is going down and not up (which constant regens would normally do by thinning the oil with diesel) indicates that engine damage has already occured, piston ring & bore wear caused by bore wash. I would change the oil straight away. When things are sorted and assuming that the engine has a healthy compression then if your MPG is still not what it should be according to your driving style and journey profile then the next suspect would be the stepper motor throttle body and intake tract being clagged up from EGR soot.

EV car tax
We are pretty much singing from the same hymn sheet! I believe they will tax home charging unless it becomes a per mile travelled charge levied on all vehicles as you suggest, my rationale is that road fuel tax brings in gazillions of revenue and aside from the windfall of fuel price rises it will fall away to virtually nothing if they achieve their aim of all new vehicles being EV's and that lost tax revenue will have to be made up somewhere. The technology is there to seperate out any fast home EV charging plus there is also the monitoring and communications to/from the Smartmeters, equally there are ways around it at present but I expect more measures like the forced introduction of smart chargers.

EV car tax
You sound very confident, why do you think that EV's owners will never pay an equivalent to road fuel duty as the government revenue from it tumbles as more people move to EV's? And especially in the current economic climate? Why do you think that only so called "Smart Chargers" are allowed to be sold since June 30th? Any time one of those is used the national grid knows that those KW hours are not being used for heating, lighting of homes etc but for road transportation. Make no mistake you will be paying, the only question is how long can they hold out fooling people into thinking that they will be saving money year on year by changing to an EV before bringing in the taxation.

Rear Window defogger not working
It sounds like it is detecting a short circuit, it says something in German about it giving 10 test impulses having no more than a 0.5 volt deviation. Maybe it sends out very short impulses to measure the volt drop and isolate the circuit if shorted before it can blow a fuse? If a bodyshop has replaced the tailgate my money is on a short, it could be damaged cables in the bellows/gaiter.
