  1. The Superb MK3 came out of the factory with many different springs, depending on things such as the weight of the engine, whether the car was a hatchback or estate, and whether the car was front wheel drive or 4x4, etc.
  2. 145/80R13 may be a high profile 80 aspect ratio tyre, but all of the standard tyre sizes on the Kodiaq MK1 have a higher sidewall height, except for the 235/45R20...as shown in the chart below. Sidewall height 235/60R17 141.00mm (about 5.5") (not a standard Kodiaq MK1 tyre size) 215/65R17 139.75mm (about 5.5") (standard Kodiaq MK1 tyre size) 235/55R18 129.25mm (about 5.0") (standard Kodiaq MK1 tyre size) 235/50R19 117.50mm (about 4.5") (standard Kodiaq MK1 tyre size) 145/80R13 116.00mm (about 4.5" (not suitable for Kodiaq MK1) 235/45R20 105.75mm (about 4.0") (standard Kodiaq MK1 tyre size)
  3. 235/60R17 7Jx17 ET40 wheels will fit the Kodiaq MK1. The Kodiaq MK1 uses 235/55R18 and 235/50R19 on 7J rims. As you can see in the ETRTO chart below, the standard rim width for a 235/60R17 tyre is 7.0"...hence it's highlighted in bold. ETRTO approved rim widths for passenger car tyres 235/60R17 6.5-7.0-8.5 235/55R18 6.5-7.5-8.5 235/50R19 6.5-7.5-8.5 235/45R20 7.5-8.0-9.0
  4. 215/55R17 6.5Jx17 ET41 are the only wheels approved by Skoda for the fitment of snow chains on the Superb MK3 272HP/280HP 4x4. You can order alloy rims from the Skoda accessory catalogue from any VAG parts department, by quoting the relevant OEM part number. The OEM part numbers of the below four alloy rims are 3V0071497, 3V0071497B, 3V0071497F, 3V0071497G. The format xxx071xxx means they are from the Skoda accessory catalogue. Alloy rims from the Skoda accessory catalogue are about 60% cheaper than Skoda's normal prices because Skoda are using their accessory catalogue to compete on price with aftermarket alloy rims. 17" alloy rims for Superb MK3 (from the Skoda accessory catalogue) https://eshop.skoda-auto.cz/cs_CZ/alu-kola/c/alloyWheels?q=%3ApriceAsc%3ArimDiameter%3A17%2522%3AcarType%3ASuperb%2BIII%2B%25282015-2024%2529
  5. The 6Q0411105AJ front spring has one red dot and three yellow dots, as you can see in the Fabia parts catalogue. 6Q0411105AJ is a standard ride height front spring. Kilen 25046 and Lesjofors 4095066 match 6Q0411105AJ. These are the same springs, made in the same modern factory in Sweden...just sold under two different brand names. Kilen tends to be more widely marketed in the UK, compared to Lesjofors. 2011 Fabia parts catalogue https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/FAB/697/4/411/411001 Kilen 25046 front spring (matches 6Q0411105AJ) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391209512514
  6. When it comes to ride comfort, 215/50R18 fitted to a 7" rim width is in a different league compared to the hard riding 225/40R19 fitted to an 8" rim width. To get the 215/50R18 to ride as hard as the 225/40R19 on the front wheel drive Karoq, you would need to overinflate the 215/50R18 by about 9psi. Considering it's easy to notice the ride get harder with just a 3psi increase in tyre pressure, a 9psi increase is very large indeed.
  7. Aftermarket alloy rims usually have non-standard specifications such as different rim widths and offsets. So you may need to inform your insurance company about the modification..and possibly pay increased insurance premiums. Also, aftermarket alloy rim sellers will often be unwilling to sell a single alloy rim if you damage one at a later date...or possibly the seller won't have that model in stock anymore...or maybe a single alloy rim will simply be priced much higher than when buying a set of four. Perhaps take at look at the Skoda alloy rim accessory catalogue. The Czech website "skoda eshop cz" tend to list all of these, but they are also available to order from any VAG parts department by quoting the relevant OEM part number. Alloy rims listed in Skoda's alloy rim accessory catalogue tend to be about 60% less than Skoda's normal prices because Skoda are competing on price with aftermarket alloy rims. 8. For an old 2013 car, it might make more economic sense to fit new steel rims and some smart matching wheel trims...rather than new alloy rims. The below 6Jx16 ET48 5/112 57.1 steel rims are a winter tyre size that allow for the fitment of snow chains. However, they can also be used with summer or all-season tyres. 16" rims will fit all models of Octavia MK3, except for those VRS models that use the big 340x30mm front brake discs...which need at least 17" rims to clear the front brake calipers. The below set of four wheel trims are listed at 1,659CZK (about £58.02) on "skoda eshop cz" website but can be ordered from any VAG parts department by quoting OEM part number 5E0071456E. The xxx071xxx format of this OEM part number, means that it's from Skoda's accessory catalogue...hence the low price. The UK price tends to be more than the Czech price...perhaps around 20% more. 9. Out of the standard Karoq front wheel drive wheel sizes 215/60R16 6Jx16 ET43 5/112 57.1 would give the best ride and by far the best protection from kerbing damage. The Karoq 4x4 uses the same specification rims as the Karoq front wheel drive, but the Karoq 4x4 uses slightly bigger tyres, eg. 225/60R16 vs 215/60R16. Karoq using 16" Octavia MK3 rims https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/524262-would-65j-x-16-et46-octavia-wheel-fit-2020-karoq/
  10. According to wheel-size.com, the 235 tyre size with a 19" diameter rim on the Enyaq is 235/55R19. Also consider the rim width. The Enyaq's 8" rim width (8Jx19) with 235/55R19 tyres will give a harder ride compared to if Skoda had chosen a narrower rim such as 7J. Skoda uses 7J rims for both the 235/55R18 and 235/50R19 on the Kodiaq MK1. The narrower rim width benefits not only the ride but gives more rim protection from kerbing damage because the sidewalls bulge out more.
  11. According to Jurid on autodoc, the Octavia MK3 1.4TSI 140HP/150HP has build codes 288x25mm 1ZE for the front brakes and 253x10mm 1KD for the rear brakes. There are two versions of the 253x10mm 1KD rear brake discs. The change point appears to be the facelift in 2017. Notice that the "D" dimension is 9.8mm wider in the late version of the 253x10mm 1KD rear brake discs. 253x10mm 1KD rear disc (early version) 253x10mm 1KD rear disc (late version)

  13. As you can see in the chart below, the ETRTO approved rim widths for a 235/40 tyre size are 8" to 9.5". As ETRTO approves the same rim widths for the wider and lower profile 245/35 tyre size fitting a 235/40 to a 7.5" rim might not seem extreme. Some Octavia MK3 owners have changed their 225/35R19 tyres to 235/35R19 tyres on the standard 7.5Jx19 rims...and most seem happy with the change. 225/45R17 fitted to 7" rims would give slightly more protection from kerbing damage than 235/40R18 fitted to 7.5" rims. For much better protection from kerbing damage than even 225/45R17 fitted to 7" rims, perhaps consider 17" Octavia MK3 Scout wheels, ie. 225/50R17 fitted to 7" rims. However, this would raise the gearing by 3.1% compared to 225/40R18 tyres. ETRTO approved rim widths for passenger car tyres 235/40 8.0-8.5-9.5 235/35 8.0-8.5-9.5 245/35 8.0-8.5-9.5 Amount tyre sidewalls bulge out each side (ie. amount of protection from kerbing damage) 225/40R18 fitted to 7.5" rim 4.75mm 235/40R18 fitted to 7.5" rim 7.25mm 225/45R17 fitted to 7" rim 8.6mm 205/55R16 fitted to 6.5" rim 12.45mm 225/50R17 fitted to 7" rim 15.6mm
  14. The Skoda dealer should have given you the price for the Gemini alloy rims from the Skoda accessory catalogue. These are about 60% cheaper (ie. about £240 versus £600) for essentially the same alloy rim, except for the OEM part number. However, you can't always get a colour match (but often can) from the Skoda accessory catalogue. The two Geminis shown in the Skoda accessory catalogue have colour codes 5E0071498G FL8 Black metallic and 5E0071498E HA7 Anthracite metallic. A Gemini in 8Z8 Diamond silver isn't shown in the Skoda accessory catalogue. Bear in mind that the Skoda accessory catalogue is regularly updated, so colours can appear and disappear. You can order alloy rims from the Skoda accessory catalogue from any VAG parts department by quoting the relevant OEM part number. The format xxx071xxx means that the alloy rim is from the Skoda accessory catalogue. An alloy rim with the format xxx601xxx is the full priced version from the regular parts catalogue. 16. Any of the wheel sizes listed in the car's CoC (Certificate of Conformity) aren't a modification because they are approved by Skoda for that particular car. All front wheel drive Karoqs will have 215/60R16 6Jx16 ET43 5/112 57.1 listed in the car's CoC, because that is the only wheel specification listed for use with snow chains. If you couldn't use these 16" wheels, you wouldn't be able to use snow chains...and when it snowed you would have to leave the car on the drive and take the train.
  17. On the 310x22mm rear brake discs, the Octavia MK3 uses TRW rear brake calipers and the Golf MK7 uses ATE rear brake calipers.
  18. It's best to use a rear axle with the same OEM part number that the car left the factory with. If a different OEM part number is used, it's possible that one or more brackets that are used for things such as the brake cables and brake pipes, etc. will be different or welded in the wrong place, etc.
  19. As you can see below, the 6Q0500051AS rear axle is used on both the Fabia MK1 and Fabia MK2. The VW Polo MK4 and Seat Ibiza MK3 also uses the 6Q0500051AS rear axle on some models, so that's another source of used parts if it's this OEM part number that your Fabia MK1 came out of the factory with. 20. Skoda might have stopped putting the white sticky build code label in the spare wheel well area around 2016/17. However, they only had a small selection of the build codes...perhaps around 40 of them...when the car might actually have around 180 build codes. There's a seller on ebay that can supply all of the build codes for 3 Euros (about £2.50). Search "skoda vin decoder" on ebay to find the listing. 22. Gross Train Weight GTW includes the weight of the car...so zero GTW would make using the car on public roads illegal because the car weighs more than 0kg...so the GTW can never be zero.
  23. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who actually does a side-by-side comparison of Bilstein B8 front shock absorbers with Skoda's sports front shock absorbers...particularly in regard to the fully compressed lengths.
  24. Bilstein B8 are about 20mm shorter than Bilstein B6, but I expect it not just the fully extended length that is 20mm shorter but also the fully compresed length that is shorter.
  25. Yes, well spotted...now corrected.
