  1. This is true. I know there are some tricks to avoid this laws a bit but I don't know the details. My guess is also that VW doesn't allow Skoda having all the goodies that VW has. I'm not aware that changing cat-back exhaust would cause voiding warranty. I think it falls under the spare parts category same as brakes. We have a local manufacturer here in Slovenia. I think I will go with them. But I'm not decided yet. Remus said they will probably have a cat-back ready in June/July. And I'm waiting for Milltek response.
  2. Disappointed! For this price I would really expect a rainbow color.
  3. This is the issue with almost all new cars since now also petrol cars have OPF filters which is the main reason for lack of sound coming from the exhaust. If you want cracks and pops and bangs, you need to remove the OPF. I think currently this is not yet possible on the new Octavia since it needs computer adaptation to lack of OPF filter. I'm planning to buy a cat-back system in the following months. But I don't expect much. I will be happy even with only a bit deeper sound.
  4. Yeah, you can't find the exact date of build in an easy way (as far as I know). Especially if you bought a used car or a car from stock. Unfortunately. You can get it if you buy access to erWin https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do This is how I got the exact date.
  5. Would be also good if everyone writes down the month when car was build. This way we can see if things are getting better or not. According to posts on this forum, I would say major issues are present on the early cars till around October.
  6. Didn't want to open a new topic. Do you guys use any neat solutions on how to minimize the possibility to bump the USB drive with your phone (or similar ) when plugged directly to the usb port in the center console? I'm afraid I will bump the USB drive with my phone someday and break the port. Was thinking of buying an angled L shaped USB C extension cable (a short one) which wouldn't stick out of the port as much as USB drive does.
  7. Good points. But still far away from the usability of the classical climate controls.
  8. But I don't see any difference having them here over the way where they are in our cars currently.
  9. Same here. I turn off the start/stop system and lane assist.
  10. Another happy owner here. Almost zero issues (slow start of the infotainment a couple of times and once "Clima" module was not available. Restart helped.). A bit over 2000 miles covered since beginning of January.
  11. I know Octavia can't compare to an Audi RS4. Even the prices are far away. But still, VAG group cars are quite popular among thieves here in Slovenia. And at the same time, the new Octi is the car of the year 2021 here.
  12. I guess this would be true for a random heist. But not for a planned and organized one.
  13. Makes sense yes. I thought it's used mostly when the car is parked for a longer period. Anyone has any thoughts on built in gps and the Skoda Connect app?
  14. Thanks for the pic. Where do you put it when you are driving? Does it stay in your car? Or you unlock the disk wheel and put it in the garage or similar?
  15. You mean a lock for the steering wheel or something else?
  16. Hi guys, after yesterdays movie-like chase of my friend's stolen Fiat 500 Abarth (fitted with gps tracking device) I started wondering what kind (if any) anti-theft solutions do you guys use on these modern cars? Is it Skoda Connect app in any use if car is stolen? Can you track your car movement in real time or it's mostly just useful for parking location? I'm planning to test this by myself in the following days. Any ideas/feedback/experiences would be appreciated.
  17. Nice to hear that. I hope the coding is done properly as well.
  18. Quite extensive topic already exists.
  19. Depends on the build date. You should see something like the picture below. According to information provided by owners, Device part numbers ending with A, B or C have SW version 16xx where 1688 being the latest. And device part numbers ending with D and onward, have version 17xx where 1788 is being the latest. But even you have the latest version displayed, ask the dealer to check if any additional updates are available for your car.
  20. Sorry, didn't notice any with 18" wheels and with spacers.
  21. This car is not mine. So I can't tell you exactly. But this is how it looks from the back.
