  1. I wonder if folk like me where it’s not changing is because we never use the radio, I don’t 😁
  2. Hmm, it is something that can be changed via vcds etc I believe but not enabled as standard, despite the buttons If you’ve had it from new and not changed that is odd indeed
  3. Oil change and DSG oil if it’s auto that is as that’s every 40k miles Somewhat official guide here, it’s old so ignore prices and cambelt change
  4. I would’ve thought either way the door card will have to come off, you’ll see the connector better and be able to disconnect
  5. Best advice don’t fit it, I’m sure people with dashcam switch off their and no longer see the bigger picture whilst driving. All the bad drivers I see all have dashcams, probably because the road is full of “idiots”
  6. Have a look here, it’s for an Octavia though but it’s not the shark fin https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/innovation-and-technology/this-is-your-car-can-you-hear-me/
  7. Must admit I don’t use it much but isn’t DAB still very much location dependent? So they’ll be patchy areas. Is it the same for more national channels like bbc radio 2 etc? Also if you have an estate I believe the DAB antenna is in the passenger side rear boot glass on the estates if you have one, might be worth giving it a good clean inside and out, worst case you’ll have clean glass 😁
  8. Doh sorry my mistake
  9. Are you not in Ireland though, and different rules apply?
  10. Yeah that looks like what Winston_wolf said. Someone has coded them like American cars, so you’ll need to get the coding changed
  11. Ah remember that when you use your headlights you’ll see condensation by the DRL’s which is perfectly “normal”, but I guess the crack let in rain water which then trickled down to parts it shouldn’t and caused the issues
  12. Have you resolved the issue with the crack? It might be small but could just be enough to have caused the issue, clear epoxy might do the job but only guessing
  13. That has always annoyed me too, take AGES to ring, do they not know people get anxious 😬 I’m always checking the website to see if it’s passed, I must admit I took my car to a different garage this year. I walked back which was around 30 minutes, had a cuppa tea and had a call to say it was all done. I was asked if I wanted a print out for MOT as the government is trying to get it paperless, wonder if that speeds things up
  14. Might be worth a complete reset, ie disconnect battery for 30 minutes
  15. If you follow that, once the header tank is off shine a light and look to see if there’s a silicone bag. Sometimes they are inside, some times in the walls. I must admit the picture you posted looks like the coolant is incredibly dirty, but might just be the picture. The silicone bag splitting is incredibly rare to be honest, but when it does go it can clog the matrix. I guess the reason why the car was auctioned in the first place is because of issues. also what colour is the coolant? If it’s bright pink that’s good, if it’s brown that could indicate the header tank was replaced with a non mit silikat version and coolant never flushed out, because mixing g13 with g12evo makes the coolant brown
  16. 10oC is a big difference. Have you tried a recalibration using vcds? I know you done the trick holding buttons down but wondering if it’s best to do it via vcds then recheck. I’d still get the header tank off as well Also is this a new to you car or has the problem gradually got worse?
  17. A clean MOT is much more attractive to a buyer or at least me. If there’s a simple advisory that’s been there for years it shouts neglected to me. That reminds me, must sort suspension out on my wife’s Fiat 500, been an advisory for years and years 🤫
  18. Your header tank doesn’t say mit silikat on the header tank which normally means you’re good. Might be better to disconnect the header tank and look with a torch if it’s got the bag, then your suspicions could be true. Saves doing matrix if it’s not actually required
  19. Not legal here in UK Edit, fit Osram NBL LED if it’s legal in your country!
  20. Problem with the cartridges I thought is that inside the header tank you have the two metal probes, they then rub on the cartridge and leak the pellets out. Can’t win if that’s true but I’m sure I read it somewhere where it happened to them
  21. I suppose you’ve already checked the obvious being a fuse?
  22. Do you use Windows? If so it should be easy enough with a formatted card to NTFS (official guide says fat32 if I remember correctly, but NTFS works for me)
  23. Are you running g12evo now or still kept with g13?
  24. As youve never done it before it can take a while like up to 45 minutes I’ve seen before. So it’s best to do it when you know you’re going for a long drive, note it doesn’t have to complete as it’ll pickup where it last finished if you turn your car off
  25. Is the anti roll bar bushings need greasing? Fairly common it seems
