  1. Have a look at the battery is it the original? If it is then change it, as it’ll be getting on from 2015. Take a picture and post it here if you’re unsure, but you’ll be looking for a BEM sticker, if it has that it’s original. Although it’s not conclusive that it’s the original but most people would replace with a non OE
  2. Lifetime, really? Not that I don’t believe you but have you got anything on that? I personally thought it got moved from 4/5 years to more like every 100K miles Sounds madness for a belt, and not to mention the water pump
  3. Is that to be used with G12evo?
  4. Personally I’d only go with OE, you know it’ll fit and at least last as long as yours has. Have you tried ringing your local dealer for a price? Might find it’s cheaper than the 2nd link, or more
  5. The cartridge still fails as such from what I saw, that’s if it’s the ones which have a mesh fabric covering the pellets, just like the bag
  6. I suspect that the built in uses the TMC if yours is working from traffic announcements, whereas Google maps is essentially spying on you and uploads the data and shares to other users of google maps for traffic, so it’ll be much more accurate
  7. Ah wasn’t sure which is which. I had a nightmare with the springs, hardly any access but iirc you had the light cluster out, but I thought the green anti clockwise to unlock would’ve been easier 😮
  8. I was going to say as you got L&K your install should be easy enough to DIY, I changed mine recently and it was a nightmare but I have version B I think it is without eyelash. Expect a big ish bill to have them fitted, wheel off and arch liners, I suspect some dodgy places might say bumper off which will take hours
  9. As you’ve had the car less than 6 months you’re protected under consumer rights act 2015. Have a read on that then go back to the dealer and ask them to fix free of charge or get a refund https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/everyday-money/buying-and-running-a-car/your-rights-if-something-is-wrong-with-your-car#:~:text=Problems with cars bought from dealers,-If you buy&text=You have a right to,of purchase in most cases. Be calling ŠKODA customer care team too, they are actually good, but you do need to be persistent
  10. Insurance renewal came through, £8.26 cheaper than last year. Must admit I’ve heard it’s gone up loads for everyone so pleasantly surprised
  11. Step by step for non competents like me would be amazing
  12. I have to ask, would it have been cheaper just to sell your car and get a new one fully loaded? 😁
  13. I really wouldn’t be worried about DPF, I only use my car on weekends and is a 2016 and just over 41k miles with an average of 3k a year. Sometimes the DPF does a regen and all I do is continue driving for longer than needed (nice one EU) until it stops Regarding the car it looks good apart from the uncared for leather, it shouldn’t be shiney! And the drivers bulster looks grim, so if you buy get Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner, plus it smells lovely I’m surprised at the cost is so high for that mileage, makes me think my cars worth a lot more than I thought 😁
  14. What’s the part number of the new header tank please?
  15. Yes that sounds right, I know Skoda now no longer say to change the cambelt every 5 years or X miles, it’s just mileage now. But I wonder if it should have been Cambelt every 120k miles or whatever it is and include change coolant every 5 years
  16. The problem that I see is removing the header tank and replacing it with a non silikat version is now your coolant has no silicone going through the system, which will lead to corrosion. Isn’t it better to have the header tank changed whilst having the cambelt and water pump done, along with whatever the correct coolant is these days?
  17. Is it the same version of focus with all the dodgy door seals? I see so many of them 😁
  18. Update SEL from 2016 doesn’t have these so got them ordered in and will fit in summer time They’re a lot thinner than I thought so should have just wrapped up a pitta bread and put them in there instead
  19. Thanks for checking, I did insist with AutoGlass that a genuine screen must go in which eventually did after two people turning up with non genuine. I guess it’s always been like that, just one of those things once seen cannot be unseen 😮
  20. Does yours sit that high as in normally 3” gap when off? If so then it must be correct but can’t help but think I would have seen the wiper blade as much as I do now in the last 4 years or so
  21. I’ve not had mine off but my old Passat was a spine so thought it would be of similar design. Does it just sit around something and get tightened by the nut alone? If so I guess I should be able to undo the nut and move down and retighten without having to take the arm off
  22. That’s it but mine was never that visible before
  23. What I meant by the ready position is it parks up higher than where it does when the cars off Kind of like when the cars off it sits in position A, when it’s raining and then stops the wiper arm sits in position B, turn the car off and it goes from position B to A I think it’s out a few splines but as it’s usually a pain to remove it would be good to only do it the once
  24. Hello, not too long ago I had my windscreen replaced and it’s evident my passenger wiper arm isn’t in exactly the same position as it was. When I’m driving and got auto wipers on and it returns to the ready position (but not full seated like it’s turned off) I can see the blade against the windscreen and is annoying I I looked at Elsawin and it’s really not clear on where it should be 😞 Can someone pleasure measure the distance between their wiper blade and the top of the plastic scuttle please? Here’s a picture of mine, Elsawin said something about +-4mm and might be talking about the bit I’ve circled in red but not sure thanks
  25. Hmm if they’ve refused repair means they are an honest garage because you won’t be paying them as no incentive for them to lie
