  1. Oh em gee, no idea why I wrote negative on positive 😬, can’t edit the post now either. Do you know if it’s m6 or m8 on the battery terminal and chassis terminal?
  2. With the ctek charge lead indicator it says to plug into positive and negative, then on the LED indicator it shows your battery state. When charging though the negative should be on positive and chassis bit for the negative, does that mean the battery indicator wouldn’t work? Also for people who have the normal charge lead, is it m6 or m8 required (I could look admittedly…)
  3. Yeah that’s it. Last time I done it though I had to go into the sat nav menu to kick off the update. Cant remember exactly where I went but I think it was click on Nav, then settings then version info then click upgrade
  4. At the very least the ignition, but that’ll drain the battery a bit. What I done on my last update was ran it whilst going on a long trip but I believe it was only around 30 minutes from start to finish (my trip was 4 hours to location), you can still use your radio so won’t be sat in silence. If you live near a motorway then that’s perfect as you can go on that and let it do it’s thing then come back
  5. I too was hesitant the first time for but updated twice and been fine
  6. Not even an optional extra I’m afraid for UK
  7. I can see your location is Leeds, but are you anywhere near the area in blue? http://tx.mb21.co.uk/mapsys/map.php?mapid=84 Because of the mast issue apprantly DAB has been affected by the fire so there’s temporary masts. I don’t do the north, so I’m not sure if Leeds is high up or not but have you driven somewhere else to see if you can then find radio5? Could be the signal is weaker than the other bbc radio stations
  8. Vacuum seats, then warm damp cloth go over the seats, let it dry. then use https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gliptone-liquid-leather-cleaner I use this on a cloth, rub in with cloth or leather brush if needed, leave for about 5 minutes. Wipe over with a warm damp cloth again, let it dry Then apply https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gliptone-liquid-leather-conditioner-250ml I personally put this on the leather directly and rub in using bare hands and leave at least 24 hours before driving. I only use this as I love the smell of leather and this is top notch and smell lasts for ages. A word of warning on the smell, your hands will smell like you’ve fisted a cow for a good few days 🤪 When you get in your car, you can use a fresh micro fibre cloth and go over the seats lightly as there will be a bit of a sheen but after use it’ll go a nice matte finish just how leather should be. Leather purists say just use warm soapy water but I love the smell of leather so use this. I can just about see your front seats looks shiney which suggests oils on the surface so a good clean will make it look pucker
  9. I suspect that is from a from a crash and I’m guessing non declared, is the car cat n at all? I suppose rodents are a possibility with an awful repair job. Personally I’d still take it back but after finding those dodgy repairs as long as you’re prepared to get everything repaired correctly and expect to find more things to fix then it’s still fixable. Only you know which way you want to go, I just hope you didn’t pay too much for this car as “you’ve been had”
  10. Sounds like a lemon car, unless you got it dirt cheap, if not then I’d ask for a full refund and go elsewhere, sorry. Having said that you really need to get it scanned and see what the errors are, that many issues makes me think if it’s had a front end crash and maybe didn’t connect things back properly. You should be able to look at the light cluster which isn’t working and see if everything is connected, as I believe the eyelash lights have their own connector (might be lying though) It could also be the battery went completely flat and need codes clearing as I’m sure someone on here had loads of issues after changing the battery but they did clear eventually. Hopefully it’s something simple as new battery + battery coding changed, but having been stung in the past before I’ll only ever get from proper dealerships now. Reading your original post and this one has made me feel sick, so I hope you get to the bottom of it or full refund, but I suppose if you’ve bought the car expecting issues that’s okay, if not I’d get a refund
  11. Oh yes, sorry I can see now I'm on desktop. Can you take a photo of your radio? Edit: Ignore me, I thought they all had satnav as standard. You won’t be the first to ask so I’m sure someone will know what to do
  12. Hmm sounds like you don’t have a mk3, what year is your car?
  13. I’ll admit I don’t know how the height is tested at MOT’s, but I’m going to assume there’s a perfect height say 0, then too low -10, too high +10. I wonder if we all want it to be +5? I feel like I want to height to be at the very top end but obviously still within MOT limits. Only problem with that though is you’ll need to have brand new tyres on first. When I can I’ll get new osram night breaker lasers first then see what’s what
  14. I’m looking at the CTEK mxs5, it comes with the M6 eyelets as standard, is that the size used on the superb bolts or is the M8 required?
  15. Pne more question, 215/55/17 or215/65/17? VW seems to be 215/65/17 but Skoda's 215/55/17 from what I can see. Going from 235/40/19 to 215/65/17 looks like the speedo would be incorrect
  16. Are they ET44? Also which tyres have you got? I’m thinking of getting some winter wheels, debating where it’s worth it in the long run though
  17. Not conclusive it seems but someone had a dodgy alternator and changed that. I guess you’ll be able to know if that’s the case as Halfords do/did free battery & alternator tests, worth a shot. If not, take it back to Skoda and tell them to fix it
  18. Remember you now need to display a UK sticker rather than GB
  19. Like J Caff said, you need to find what fault code is being logged but the fact Skoda went down to looking at fuelling issues I’d say the code will be something along those lines but very hard to say. previous experience about limp mode was down to sticking turbo vanes on my old Passat
  20. I wonder if the wing mirrors got smashed off and they replaced with those or a project which never happened
  21. I’ve got the diseasel and although I only do around 3k a year it’s worked an absolute treat as expected. I’m not sure what the Adblu issue you’re referring to but I’ve topped up twice in my ownership as you get around 8k per tank and costs about £10 to do so. If you do short journeys your car will do a dpf regen quite a lot, so a petrol would be better
  22. As I want genuine that’ll be where I’ll get them from after seeing the cost of them. I just need to somehow work out which models have them and whether Audi has them also so when looking at breakers I have a wider search
  23. If the boot wasn’t left open then it could leak from the rear lights I’ve read before but not sure on the fix. Simple fix though, make sure the boot is closed
  24. Oh that’s the one, I’ll get google translate and have a butchers 😄 I’m in Hampshire
