  1. Just a thought, if you’re going to be buying this new, then go into your local dealer and ask for a long test drive in each for a couple of hours. You’ll then be able to get use to it, then after your first test either remember your thoughts or write them down. Most test drives is around a 10 minute loop which is ridiculous, but I can’t see them saying no especially if they know you’ll be getting a new car as that’ll be their bonus
  2. I have a fascination and desire for leather so that wipes out the Sportline for me, why they can’t have leather seats I’m not sure. If I had to make a choice it would be L&K though purely because it’s top of the line and don’t need to spend extras on the nice things. There’s a new superb out next year or year after if you can wait, adds another “what if I waited longer” though 😬
  3. Just buy a 64gb SD card if you don’t already, any generic class 10 will do
  4. The cracking from what I’ve read is completely normal, as long as it’s on the tread it’s okay but I’ll be changing for sure. I also had an inspection and tyres have around 3.5mm left, if they weren’t cracking I’d expect at least 50k miles on the P7’s set which is amazing tbh even though they’re not really a great all rounder
  5. There’s a few reasons why I’m going to wait but the main one is I only do around 10 miles per week if that, sometimes more but generally low use I think the Eagle F1 will be a good choice because when I do go for a longer drive I can either drive like an old man when the dogs onboard or go for a spirited drive when he’s not inside. The new F1 6 is cheaper than the F1 5 as well and no potential of being sat in a warehouse and be a few years old before I’ve even used them
  6. Car passed MOT, just an advisory on the tyres as expected. So can now wait until April for the Eagle F1 6’s
  7. It wouldn’t prevent, but if someone wanted to fix on the cheap filling the crack and wrapping it would be ideal
  8. Personally if it’s the first time it’s ever done this, then just replenish. Maybe it’s always been really low (but not enough to trigger sensor) and you’ve never noticed. If it does it again then you know for sure something is leaking or consuming
  9. Why would ever need close by remote? I’ve seen folk on here ask why but I can’t think of why, if you open it then you’re going to put something in or take out and as you’re there just press the button. I tried wording this differently so I don’t sound start but honestly I’m intrigued haha
  10. You don’t want both fog lights to work only one. It’s only on one side to differentiate between brake lights
  11. Annoying but it’s fine, even says in the manual that this will happen
  12. They’ll be an advisory for sure as they were last year too but reading tyre manufacturers as long as it’s on the tyre tread block it’s okay, but I’ll be swapping them way before the legal limit
  13. I’m in UK yeah, as the tyres are different spec to OE it’s an easy get out clause for insurance should anything happen. I could ring them and they’ll probably be fine but will be hard to explain it them if they don’t know what I’m on about, like I’ve had in the past ”These tyres are approved for Volvos, hard luck try it again”
  14. That’s mine as of today, hoping they’ll last until April and pass MOT (some tyre gel and they’ll never know)😬
  15. Homologated to Volvo, be a pain explaining to insurance
  16. Haha very true about what we drive. The problem is I only want Michelin or Goodyear tyres. I can’t get Michelin Primacy 4’s in my size unless it’s Volvo spec which is no good The Goodyear efficient grip (Primacy 4 equivalent) is impossible to get also.
  17. So a quick update. I'm going to keep my crappy tyres on for now and hopefully it'll pass MOT, I've looked and cracking on the tread does not mean a fail which is good, different if it's on the side face from what I can tell. The reason i'm waiting is because I've heard good things about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 5 except for the noise levels, now they have a new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 I will go with that. Only problem is the Asymmetric 6 is not out yet in 235/40/19, so I just rang them and it'll become available in 235/40/19 4th April 2022, so will depend on when wholesalers get them but should be pretty quick. If my car fails MOT because of tyres in March then i'll have to get the Michelin PS5, but at the moment holding out for Asymmetric 6's
  18. You’d think it could just get the speed limit for the road from the sat nav if you don’t have the camera instead but I don’t believe you can
  19. Part of the maintenance checks for the mk3 is clearing the scuttle panel area, but it’s not as easy as other VAG cars (Passat b5/b5.5) as you need to remove the wipers to get it off. So I’m living dangerously, I’m sure I read Skoda should do it as part of the servicing but I don’t think they do
  20. Hmm, just tried searching for Goodyear Efficient grips on black circles, my tyres, camskill can’t find them. This 235/40/19 size is very annoying and needlessly expensive compared to 245, but I can’t be bothered with the insurance hassle either grr
  21. I think the primacy 4 is what I need, but can only find it for about £208 per tyre which is crazy, the “cheaper” primacy 4s I can see is for Volvos grr. Father in law has the eagle F1 assymetric 5’s on his A4 and have lasted ages but noisy whereas I want a quiet ish tyre. So I think it’s down to primacy 4 or new Michelin PS5, but I will checkout the Goodyear Efficient grip 2 so thanks for that
  22. Right I have to get new tyres this month and MOT booked at the end. I’ve heard the PS4’s only last around 12k miles? Not sure where I read it, probably an amateur drifting site I hope. Goodyear eagle F1 5 is noisier than the P7’s, is that true? I’ve seen the tyre label but that’s not quite real life reflection. Michelin primacy 4, not heard a great deal about this in truth, does it have good rim protection? There’s the new Michelin PS5, not seen anywhere in UK that has them yet and I suppose far too new for longetivty. What I’m after is a tyre which can last easily 25-30k, good rim protection for just in case moments, a tyre that can be good for occasional spirited driving, quiet inside and tyres which won’t crack due to lack of use (I hardly ever use my car) I know I don’t need much 😬, but out of these 4, what’s best for my needs? Michelin Primacy 4 Michelin PS4 Michelin PS5 Goodyear Eagle F1 5
  23. Have you thought about getting it wrapped?
  24. I like different music to you, but give “Black Label Society - Lords of Destruction” a test, that’s my go to bass test song
  25. This is the video I saw, he has an octavia too so projector (now whole housing unit) probably very similar to the superb. I can see a big difference, there wasn’t a lot of difference between NBL and original CBI, but the new one is brighter and bluer, it’s still cool blue intense but labelled as CBN (CBI Next Gen) https://youtu.be/EKVgD2TYMUI
