  1. Didn't fix mine. I haven't fixed it yet. Haven't died quite yet, and it quite possibly won't be that that'll kill me. IMO, it seems like more to go wrong. If the OP wants to fix it then sure, but they don't need to, like you say.
  2. I like this knowing, but being sworn to secrecy... makes me all giggly.
  3. Oh yeah... the "thing" you told me about?
  4. Would it be possible to ascertain the gearbox number from the VIN in the right hands?
  5. This looks fab... pardon the pun...
  6. If it makes you feel any better, one of my backplates was scattered along a main road when it decided to let go at 60mph.
  7. You might not be where you want to be right now, but you'll get there. If that helps somewhat. Keep going man, you've got this
  8. Bad earth? Mine liked to throw a tantrum when the earth was dicky. Mine cut out constantly but it was a lambda sensor issue. So make of that what you will.
  9. My front one is like this, rear isn't as bad. I'll probably replace them at some point, with the console bushes and the other stuff...
  10. Pioneer TS-G1720F. That's what I've got in the car, bloody brilliant. Cost me about £35 IIRC.
  11. T'is but a scratch... just a mere flesh wound...
  12. Like a bull to a red rag... or a truck to a red car. Tried to keep it short since I was sending it over Facebook Messenger initially.
  13. Work on this has, as always continued. This time, a leather steering wheel was procured and from the help of a mate of @DieselMonte who lives on this side of the water, I've had it fitted. Words cannot quite describe how much nicer the feeling of sheer luxury is. It reminds me of the steering wheel Superb I drove at work and absolutely fell in love with. As an aside, I had a little meeting with a ditch today to avoid being the bumper ornament for a lorry who had taken it upon themselves to occupy the whole road. That, plus the other dirt meant it was time to give the car a wash. 20221003_153433.mp4 It's been about two months or so since I applied some CarPlan Super Gloss stuff (purple liquid in a spray bottle) and it's left the car with a lovely shine. Just need to get some better wax as the beading isn't as nice now. Overall, lots more to do, as always, just enough to keep me occupied.
  14. Haven't seen one yet on Facebook, still keeping an eye out. Good work going on here... you're a braver man than I am.
  15. Cannot remember if I posted these.
  16. Excellent thank you. Been back to using my W10 ThinkPad x201i anyway as I've been back at uni. As a little laptop, it's great. I wish Lenovo had kept using the old keyboard and design. Might be a tad dated now but my god it's good. Anyway to stay on topic, do I prefer Windows 10 or 11? 11 is like a better 10 in terms of GUI but I've yet to have a good version of it. I hope it doesn't do a Windows ME...
  17. Might give that a bash this evening. Got a couple of apps I'd like on my computer.
  18. Same as yours. Start menu hasn't been problematic since yesterday, touch wood.
  19. I usually nuke my other, older machines every now and again... usually because I **** up a Windows 98 installation beyond redemption anyway! I don't like disturbing this or my ThinkPad as I use for the former for a lot of stuff and the ThinkPad is for my uni work so I have to be cautious and I can't fully trust that I've backed up everything. So yeah. I'd rather take the chance with this one, which I'll do once I've fixed it. It's a year old and the keyboard is duff just outside of the warranty.
  20. Ye olde hammer that I smashed the black box with seemed to talk it into working. I just done the update "in-place" if that's what I think you're referring to. Cannot be bothered wiping everything but it may get that way since I plan on getting another SSD for this laptop after I've had the keyboard repaired.
  21. I'd try speaking to the dealer about this, and working from there.
  22. Restarted the computer after installing updates and suchlike. Now almost bearable. Think I'll jump back over to the ThinkPad though.
