  1. We had one too, Gaz.
  2. Underseal seems to be cracking up a bit here. Located behind front passenger arch lining.
  3. I've learned something new today.
  4. Where did you get the mirror glass from? Mine has been delaminating on the driver's side for ages now.
  5. Same here, even now too. Got a big stack of them a few months back so been making some for the car.
  6. Thanks for letting me know, must have forgotten about some.
  7. I've still got a system (or more than one) that'll run Windows 98... just to really make us all step back in time. To be fair, they do serve a specific purpose these days. I've been able to move most things on, but some of the stuff I've got is surprisingly more secure on a non-networked 98 laptop since you'd need to physically access it to get the data.
  8. I'll admit, that took me a moment to understand some of that, but not everything? Are you referring to replacing the belt? If so, it's the one that's been there since I purchased the car. The air con regas? That was done by Arnie Shark. Yep, that's my guess too. I'll have a listen to it again, though. It's the same noise I was telling you about over WhatsApp, I believe.
  9. Oh yes, it does. However it also smells of burning (possibly rubber, or something) after a few minutes.
  10. It's only with the air con running, all speeds. It goes off instantly when the air con is turned off. It's not my fan as it smells and runs fine when used without the air con.
  11. Yet again, another issue... shock horror. 🤦‍♂️ Anyway, my air conditioning makes a horrible grinding noise which rises and drops with the revs. In my mind, this seems like a bearing of some sort. In addition to this, it also smells mildly as if it's burning. This is a new issue that developed this morning. Therefore, I've stopped using the air conditioning in the car. What do yous with brains reckon it'd take to put this right? If it's expensive then I'll probably just cut my losses and punt the car on, or do without the conditioned air that I've grown attached to, haha.
  12. Kames is a great track. Used to live rather close to it too. Glad you had a good time in my neck of the woods.
  13. It's quite sad really. I love my 1980-something Denon DCD-810.
  14. I've got the cable, and VCDS-Lite, which, as far as I know will not be capable enough. So I'd need the full version, I'll sort that at a later date. I may just contact some local Briskoda folk and see who'd be able/willing to code this in for a couple of beer tokens... unless you're coming over here again anytime soon.
  15. Thanking you. I'll need to get that set up then. It's just motion locking that I'll need.
  16. Okay good to know. Cheers, DM.
  17. In fairness, if Sepulchrave happens to be using a mobile device at the time then you can't see that little tab, or signatures. So it's handy to have it in the original post, IMO/IME.
  18. Basically I witnessed some pretty horrible events today which has led me to wonder about enabling the automatic locking that locks the doors when you set off with the car, for my own security. Can this only be done via VAG-COM or is there another way? Also, does it stay locked, or will it unlock when you slow down? Cheers.
  19. Aye, I find that the trip range on my 1.2 Ambiente is fairly accurate according to the MPGs I get (worked out using Fuelly on the 'net, with the brim to brim method). Another solution is not letting the car get as low on fuel... but I'm not in charge of your life. So do what you like.
  20. I am, Gaz. But I'm also very impatient so I work out roughly what the tank's MPGs are by the trip and the halfway reading on the fuel gauge. It's a 10 gallon tank so maths is easy with it.
  21. Unfortunately I have. I've been using the trip to work out roughly my MPGs between tanks, so can't really reset it at these milestone intervals sadly.
  22. Agreed. Been thinking along the same lines of @Tomjones1995 and purchasing a second/spare car as an emergency runaround given the amount of issues I've worked through on mine recently!
