2nd hand body panels arrived damaged, what do we think?
Good that seller has offered a part refund, given it’s the carrier has caused the damage. Spoken to the carrier, what’s their policy on damaged goods?

Roadside assistance
Believe you get the balance. We bought our car secondhand from a main dealer in April yet roadside runs October to October so that have been when it was first set up

Wiper blades
She probably told them to be quiet and they didn’t want to argue 😏

Feb 2023 VRS - Umbrella or not?
Misread your earlier post; agreed, clearly he gave us the bigger brolly, still Significant Other is ok with it sitting in her door panel, easier to get to in a hurry apparently 🙄

Feb 2023 VRS - Umbrella or not?
No, umbrella definitely intended to fit in drawer under passenger seat, must have been acquired by previous owner and only replacement that dealer could source was just a little too big.

Insurance and breakdown cover for UK + EU ?
Agree with @petrolcan I’ve never found it as all-inclusive but an add-on option (such as legal cover) when you take out your insurance

Thinking of getting a karoq again
We’ve a 2020 Sportline 1.5 dsg and (touch wood) had no issues with it during our 15 months of ownership apart from an ‘SOS speak to workshop’ message that came up intermittently and which the dealer dealt with by way of a software update.

Steering Wheel Lock Recommendation
Etchings not going stop the car being nicked, would only be of use if and when it’s found

Steering Wheel Lock Recommendation
Alex Robbins the Telegraph motoring expert covered this very subject today - apparently in Auto Express tests some locks could be removed in around 5 seconds. Other locks such as Stoplock, Milenco and Disklok all took over 5 minutes with the Stoplock ProElite taking top honours

new car ordered November the 3rd 2023
It’s probably been sitting out the back of the showroom a few weeks, they just can’t be arsed to go and sort it for you. By comparison I’m giving thought to chopping ours in (only had it 15 months but sadly giving me back ache) and went along to the local JLR dealership. Beautiful showroom, four of their big expensive (£100k+) models sitting under spotlights, Three girls at reception, immediately attended to, went off to find the salesman I’d spoken to previously, he was busy so was offered tea/coffee, nothing was too much trouble. Staff all looked smart, very professional. Salesman came over, apologised for delay, more tea/coffee offered . . . .Different world to my local dealership

Dacia Spring vids.
Steering wheel’s on the wrong side 😏 Wonder if after using the coffee machine the car started or the battery was flat 😄 Apart from that, a cheap and cheerful looking motor

Seats
Ironically we bought a Karoq Sportline with the highback seats just over a year ago and I’m finding that after about an hour at the wheel I’m getting a backache; I’ve adjusted the seat angle and the lumbar support and it’s not making a great deal of difference. It’s got to the point where I’m seriously looking at getting shot for something else which would be a shame as I’m loving the car but can’t continue with it giving me the backache.

Insurance and breakdown cover for UK + EU ?
Prior to getting breakdown thrown in when we bought our Karoq last year we had cover with UK based Driver Guardian that provided full cover (at home, breakdown, relay etc) for UK and Europe for less than £100. When existing Skoda cover expires will likely go back to them

Karoq 2021
Hi, interested in any responses as I’ve a 2020 Karoq and have never heard of this.

Karoq sun roof - blind positioning
Seems to be the case. We’ve opened the roof over the last few days for the first time and I’d hoped that the blind could be closed but it seems sadly not. Our old Freelander had manual blinds so could be closed with the roof fully open

Insurance and breakdown cover together or separately ?
Until we got the ‘free’ Skoda roadside when we bought the car last year I’d had breakdown cover for several years with Driver Guardian that covered us for complete (roadside, at home, relay etc) UK and Europe for under £100

Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
In today’s Telegraph motoring section ‘Ask the Expert’ deals with a question raised by a Karoq owner concerning their panroof not demisting. The expert Alex Robbins says this is down to the poor water-resistant glue that’s used to secure the cassette and this is an issue being reported more and more across the whole VAG. Some owners have apparently received offers of goodwill payments towards replacing the cassette (£2500 😱) but any claim to Customer Services is only likely to be entertained if the car’s been serviced on time and on mileage at a main dealer. If this is such a widespread problem what does it take before VAG will accept it is; is it purely down to the number of owners complaining? As a footnote, AR has said that there are many sunroof specialists around that are fast developing means of repairing the cassette for a fraction of what main dealers are charging

Is it becos it’s a Sportline, officer?
I attended a speed awareness course last year and was told there was no need for it to be reported to my insurers.

But don’t you then pick up points on your licence?

the truth about electric cars
They sited three charging points along the road from us about a year ago and more often than not they were occupied by EVs that were simply using them as parking spaces, although the council have recently changed the signage to say they can only park when charging, not all day.
