  1. Obvious really; JayOrr has never driven a vehicle without a fuel gauge, therefore all vehicles have fuel gauges. No pics, but Ford Turboflow (coach), Leyland Leopard (service bus or coach depending on bodywork), Dennis Dominator (double deck service bus), Scania "2 Series" (truck and coach) and MAN (coach) also don't have fuel gauges.
  2. Well, it gets cold there overnight. Cold enough that you can evolve drinking water in a sand still.
  3. Depreciation is capital lost on the actual price you paid, not on a nominal list price.
  4. Bedrock VW in Motherwell may be able to advise.
  5. @chrisgreen Osram "Nightbreakers" in the latest spec, I think "++". Illegal on a car this new (post 1988), unless you also fit self-levelling kit and headlight washers (if not already installed). Er, "neutron stars" would emit no light in the human visible range.
  6. No you don't because you're using the ABS sensors, which are already fitted.
  7. Absolutely; one of the "least comfortable" experiences I've had was when the previous passenger in the car left the heated seat on and I suddenly became aware of having a very hot back...
  8. I could see that being life-changing, yes.
  9. Hint here; you don't mention what the tyre pressures are.
  10. @AMD87 - No other comment, but I do like your driver id sticker.
  11. Go to a bricks and mortar insurance broker.
  12. Find out what headlights your car has fitted and tell us.
  13. As per various other threads on this very website, my mate with a Superb reckoned that it was worth several mpg in town and with a hot engine.
  14. Well, that's easy enough to (dis)prove. Get a diesel compression tester, and do a dry and wet compression test. If the CR rises more than 10% when you do the wet test you have worn or seized rings.
  15. @JamieH86 - You don't say which year this is, but a 1.9TDi may well not have a DPF to regenerate!
  16. This makes me thing that the voltage regulator is FUBAR. I have no idea what @PetrolDave is trying to say, but I've never seen an alternator and regulator in good order output more than 14.4v.
  17. What works did they indicate it would require next year?
  18. Fuel flow meter is not correctly calibrated: Most people just live with it.
  19. After looking at that lot, how old is the battery?
  20. Almost certainly a bad ABS sensor, but you'll need VCDS or OBD II to find out which one.
  21. Most of the Octavia (and Superb) taxis around here are a minimum 1.5l, based on 3 districts, one being Glasgow.
  22. I wouldn't swear to this, but it's not impossible.
