Trav's 2021 Superb 280 L&K
"Hot". Opposite of "Cold". Look at where the filter draws from rather than just how big it is.

Soggy brake pedal
Brake servo, ABS unit... Bleed the servo first (both nipples), and then callipers. If that doesn't do it, you need to do a VCDS bleed of the ABS unit because there's air in the valve block.

If I was looking at a 10 to 13 year old car, I'd be more concerned about condition than "2 or 3 owners".

Aero Wheel Covers
... have come and gone, more as a "fashion statement" than any form of engineering, in waves since about 1980CE.

Is my brake fluid okay?
Never heard of this test before, but as long as you know how to interpret it to get water content it's as good as any other specific gravity test.

So can I, but ABS is reassuring when you have split mu, like gravel over tarmac on the near side of the car. (Applies whether you have right or wrong hand drive).

Visually etc. My car of the day -today
The Espera (Chavalier) was an OK motorway hack, cruising smoothly at 70<cough> mph.

''Glitters'' inside my coolant expansion tank
They're 2 different things. A "sniffer test" is a chemical test for evidence of exhaust gases in the coolant. A compression test is a measurement of how much intake gases are compressed during the engine's compression stroke.

2006 Skoda Fabia 1.4 PD TDI idle/low rpm rattle
Bad assumption. It could be a misaligned thrust bearing. That's easily identified if you've heard one before, and just requires the thrust bearing rather than the clutch assembly replacing so the bill is less than a replacement clutch.
