  1. 1) If so, then it's likely this has split and is the base cause of the heater issues. 2) In which context, can you hear the ventilation fan running when the car is idling?
  2. I'd suspect ASBO diesel. I use brand name fuel and never have a running problem.
  3. Good move. I don't know about Time Attack but most other Blue Book speed classes require a solid roof on a saloon based vehicle.
  4. My father used to have an Au'tin Oxymoron. I'd use the rear fog lights on it to boost the reversing light output.
  5. The main ECU knows that you have changed the instrument cluster and has immobilised the car until someone with a dealership computer of VCDS tells it to play nice with the new to it cluster.
  6. What sort of headlights are they?
  7. This is exactly why I said:- Fleabayectomy Italian tune up run it a bit Now think if it still needs a Mr Muscle.
  8. I don't know; does your car have Stop/Start?
  9. Could it be because: As battery'cost \/ manufacturer'profit/\ rather than battery'cost \/ vehicle'cost\/ ?
  10. MoT certificates have not been issued for the last several years, on which basis this clause is invalid.
  11. I think this is key; ask an auto electrician to check the alternator.
  12. You've already illustrated one; it comes from the numbers of people who slavishly follow the directions given, even when they are something like "Drive down the road a foot narrower than your vehicle".
  13. @miroslav9011 I'd rather have a pratnav map than any form of Lane Enforce.
  14. What is the indicated idle speed? The symptoms sound like they could be low idle/ early cold enrichment cancel.
  15. Read the fault codes inspect the ABS sensor, rotor and wiring on the corner that the fault is at.
  16. Almost certainly some form of plastic. Maybe, but that depends on how deep the scratch is.
  17. Well, my idea is to change your mechanic to "not the Skoda main stealer". Also, have you seen vehicles on roads joining at junctions, or parallel with lower speed limits, or rubbish like blowing crisp packets at these times?
  18. Ok, watch this video and then tell us if you think self-driving cars are a good idea,
  19. I don't remember Rain-X Anti-Fog being scented, but that just means I didn't notice. If you want a plain glass cleaner, simple Ajax only smells (mildly) of ammonia and not of some chemical "parfam".
  20. Power costs; how fast can you afford to go? Standard 1.3 MPi. You'll need to find parts but 1.3 MPi "Skoda Challenge" engine. 1.6 VW Golf engine; one way to do this would be to find a front "clip" from a Felica or a "Fun" pickup that's had a rear end crash. 1.8l 20v turbo. 2.8 or 3.2l VR6.There are or were at least 2 of these in the UK but they play merry He11 with the weight distribution.
  21. Thanks. I'd dip on seeing your loom, and may be triggered by a late dip from my oncoming.
  22. OK, I'm going to ask. Does this system "dip" the headlights on detecting an oncoming loom of lights or wait until oncoming's headlights are actually visible?
  23. Typical symptom of a blown turbo is a "James Bond" smokescreen.
  24. @Hixy What I asked about are typical "low battery" symptoms for anything that doesn't have Stop/Start technology. Now you need to describe the symptoms more clearly than just "intermittent non starting".
