  1. First principles. Does the starter go "clunk" and not spin?
  2. Yes, and I found Rain-X Anti-Fog quite effective.
  3. Not that I know of. The normal procedure is to extract and weigh the refrigerant in the system.
  4. @Danoid - In short yes. I advise taking the car to an automotive A/C specialist and not a Skoda main stealer!
  5. Been there done that... You most assuredly can change just the pulley, and should change the garage too.
  6. Use a fault code reader and then do diagnostics, rather than using a parts cannon.
  7. 😞 You mean this one (colon then open bracket then spacebar)?
  8. Not really. We know Millibean has all sorts of nasty secrets without watching YouChube videos about them.
  9. Which is wrong:- 235*0.4=94 245*0.4=98 Do the sums yourself instead of just quoting "some page on the interwebnet".
  10. Hey dude, long time no see etc. As @skomaz says, it would be good to hear more from you, and a steer to the Britcar and 90s Superturisme would also be appreciated. Life threw me a major curve ball in chronic kidney failure so I spend a bit of time on YouTube, and like to follow people I know and/or subjects I'm interested in.
  11. Not certain which, but I think either one of the chipper vents (do any of them look strange and/or not work?) or the recirculation control (which seems to fit with your symptoms).
  12. Removing the Fleabay chip and an Italian tune up may be all it takes. Best wishes.
  13. Impossible to say whilst the Fleabay Chip mod is still in place.
  14. Reread CB points and dwell angle until you actually understand it!
  15. Attacking this issue from the other side, when I had my Octavia I fitted a leather steering wheel glove (sourced from Halfords for about £10) to deal with a similar issue.
  16. No you don't. You live in Kent, not somewhere like the edge of Kirkfield Bank, the Peak or Lake District, Snowdonia or the Scottish Highlands. I have lived in or at least visited all 6 and know what I am talking about.
  17. So why are you even looking at different cars?
  18. The battery may need replaced then. Have someone do a deep load test on it, and expect that to be free subject to you buying any required replacement from them.
  19. Frankly. if you're chasing more comfort, I'd say swap to 17" wheels.
  20. Not always. A good DIY test is to open the engine bay, look at the battery and have someone else operate the starter. A bad cell may well look like it is "boiling" when under load.
  21. @travo /\ This! Or when you open the door on entry and remove the key on switch off (or open the door) on anything I've driven.
  22. I have no idea where you saw that, but it means that you adjust valves with the pistons in mid-stroke. This is not, repeat not, the case. You adjust valves one cylinder at a time, when that cylinder is at Top Dead Centre between the compression and firing strokes. If you didn't understand that, do yourself and your friend both a favour, and go and watch videos of the theory of 4 cylinder engines, and how to adjust valve clearances, until you do.
  23. Which just proves that 2 sensors (gauge and Torqueapp) are showing the same value. Which is why I'm thinking sensor. Which garage said "fuel pump"?
