  1. Hi, has anyone got the OE number for the OS electric heated door mirror? trying to order a new one, but keep sending the wrong one!
  2. Speak to Questmead, don't bother with the boy racer "yellow/green/stuff pads" i got some Mintex pads for £168 and they dont need warming up, or much bedding in, ideal for fast road or track day, even with standard calipers.
  3. Was the ceramic coating worth it?
  4. I had changed both front callipers, discs and pads and ABS pump, front hoses, fuses, to be on the safe side, it was just the next logical step.
  5. Finally cured it, BMC changed and sorted.
  6. Hi, as per title, front o/s brake sticks on intermittently, usually after 10-15 miles, changed the fuse links, changed both front calipers, changed the front o/s brake hose and had the ABS pump rebuilt (ECU testing) but its still doing it, but perhaps not quite as bad as before. It tends to last for about 10-20 miles then its fine, on a run the fuel consumption go down from 65 mpg to about 45 mpg, that's how i can tell its sticking, but it does vibrate on occasions! Any advice is more than welcome, im thinking Brake M/C next, but shouldn't really affect just one wheel. vRS 07 plate @75000 miles, thanks Terry.
  7. One of mine was knackered when i got the car, i just ordered Bilsteins @ £110.00 each, https://www.bilstein-shocks.co.uk/ two days delivery, change the bump stops at the same time £15.00 on ebay.
  8. Try a different bulb just to be sure.
  9. Are they easy enough to find?
  10. As per title, windscreen especially steamed up when i come to it in the morning, even when its been parked in the garage overnight, changed the pollen filter, but no better. Is there a drain hole that needs unblocking, or is there a problem elsewhere, TiA.
  11. Hi, ive only had it for a couple of months, so im no expert, and you never stop learning. I do quite a bit of rallying, so i understand the basics, its a good car to start off with, the only thing ill uprate are the pads and struts/shocks, mind you the headlights are a bit ****, so any tips would be gratefully received, thanks Terry.
  12. Just an idea, why would you want it to twist though? Its an independent rear suspension set up, i would of thought lest twist the better!
  13. Thanks Mick, in time i may just weld a brace across it centrally.
  14. Is the rear beam that weak, you cant use it for jacking the car up?
  15. Have you tried the Aux 12v socket wire, usually a constant live.
  16. Try Autocrash parts in Farnworth, near Bolton, excellent knowledge.
  17. Done now thanks, not too bad a job, and yes we did drink quite a bit afterwards, sorry i forgot your invite!
  18. I know this is an old topic, but i cant open the photos, could anyone email me them?
  19. My gear change is a bit sloppy, sounds like you know what your on about! Can you adjust it, or is there a quick shift for the Mk1 VRs? Ta
  20. Thanks for all the info, i've learnt something then. Dual Mass it is! Next question, is it a DIY job?
  21. Thanks in advance, is this a worthwhile conversion to do? Are there any benefits - downsides either way? Mk1 Fabia VRs Std 130 bhp
  22. Thanks, i hadn't thought about the hand brake levers!
  23. I will go through the brakes in a couple of weeks, they seem spongy, change the fluid, check the calipers pads and discs then go from there. The torque from this engine is amazing, although not as quick as the Clio, just as much fun, after the brakes, a set of Bilsteins, and im sorted for some happy motoring.
  24. Hi, 182 gone and now the owner of the Fabia Vrs 1.9. As I mentioned before, belt kit and pump are this weekends job. The brakes arnt great, is there any up grade VW swaps?
