Update of navigation maps
I think there is certainly a newer map database available for OTA for subscribers - possibly 24.6? I’m not sure what the download link version is. I currently have 23.12 (last OTA update I received whilst I had an active subscription last year) but when I try and manually install the “latest” database from the link you refer to the map database does not update and I am stuck on 23.12. Either: 1. I am doing something wrong. I unpack the downloaded zip folder, unpack it and then place the multiple folders (not the parent folder containing the multiple folders) at root level of an ExFat formatted USB-C flash drive which I know is compatible (previously updated infotainment system to 1969 using same drive). 2. The map database on the Skoda website lags behind the OTA updates and is actually version 23.12. This would explain initial USB-C activity of the flash drive each time I start the car before nothing and map database is not updated beyond 23.12 as I already have it / what’s on the drive. 3. Something is wrong with my cars system and it doesn’t want to update the map database. I am relatively confident that I a doing the right procedure to initiate the update which leaves points 2 and 3 to consider. It would be more relevant to get feedback from someone who manually updated the maps from the Skoda website, rather than received the OTA update, to see what map database version they went to?

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
My Skoda dealership, in London, have previously charged me £75+VAT to apply a firmware update - basically half hour of labour.

Potential purchase - any red flags here?
I have a Skoda Estate 1.5TSI Manual First Edition with a 70 plate. After a few initial problems with software and firmware, it is now a joy to drive. Skoda warranty will not cover any software updates so you need to get that done at the point of purchase otherwise, further down the line required updates will come at a cost. Infotainment Version: Get them to update to version 1941 or, if possible, 1969. If they will only update to 1941 I would accept that as that's a very stable release. Climate Control Firmware: Select the Sync function on the Climate control, then switch off the ignition. Restart the car, if the passenger side has forgotten that it was in Synced (Sync will be displayed instead of the passenger side temperature) then that module needs updating. When updated the Sync is remembered between journeys. Telematics Module Firmware: I would push them hard to update this firmware to the current version as it can cause issues such as the SOS function crashing or affecting the Sat Nav positioning. This in turn can crash the whole infotainment system. Map database: Likely they won't update those for you as that's a paid-for subscription service (or you can download the database yourself and update them). Braking / Clutch Control Modules Firmware: I recently had the firmware updated on this as the release of the auto hold brake became a little inconsistent - sometimes the brake or clutch just held on a little longer than it should when pulling away. The above sounds all bad but actually, if you can get the dealer to do the first three items (Infotainment, Climate Control, and Telematics) the system is pretty rock solid. The dealers are meant to do these things before selling but it seems they often don't bother. The comment regarding the age of the screen is a bit of a red herring as it doesn't necessarily need replacing at all unless it has a specific fault.

Update to Version 1969
Upgrade to 1941 isn’t a bad thing as it was definitely the release that bought stability to the Infotainment system. The only issue is that the multiple modules that control various aspects of the car have their own firmware versions that often need updating to get a rick solid system. Unfortunately Skoda have a policy of only updating module firmware versions on a piece meal basis - only if you report a specific issue will they look at that specific module to see if there is newer released firmware. As far as the dealer installing version 1969, possibly someone has reported it on this thread but cannot be sure.

Update to Version 1969
Manually updated by myself. I have read that dealers have installed 1969 but possibly you have to ask. To be honest version 1941 is very stable and no discernible difference to the end user between the two versions.

Update to Version 1969
1941 is a stable version and 1969 doesn’t bring anything new to the end user - likely some under bonnet tweaks.

Update to Version 1969
I’m guessing some dealers may still be installing previous version 1941 which is regarded as the Infotainment version that bought stability. The problem these cars have, which is not unique to Skoda, is they have multiple modules for different functions that each have their own firmware. If a particular firmware version is unstable it can easily upset the whole apple cart and cause the system to crash.

Update to Version 1969
Don’t understand the “v1969 does not exist”. It’s an Infotainment software update released for both Skoda and Seat cars and I assume VW vehicles (they share the same platform). Some on here have had the Skoda dealership update their car’s infotainment to this version.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
The reality is your car needs the Infotainment system updating to at least version 1941 or, better still, the latest release version 1969. Both these versions are generally regarded as stable. You might need some control modules firmwares updated - the Telematics module is an obvious candidate. Firmware updates can only be done by the dealer or possibly a specialist Skoda independent garage. I have a 70 plate and, since I purchased it 12 months ago, I have initially had the Infotainment software updated to version 1941 and the Telmatics module firmware updated, under the original manufacturers warranty. These two updates made the cars software pretty rock solid. I subsequently manually updated the Infotainment system to version 1969. In addition I have paid for the climatic control module and the brake module firmware to be updated individually. My dealer charged me half hour labour for each of these updates. The good news is once you have the necessary updates the system is pretty rock solid and stable.

just read the thread - it contains all the information you need. If you aren’t confident doing the process then I wouldn’t proceed.

Update to Version 1969
This one I posted is working, as is the link at the top of page 2 of this thread: https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZVfN9Zh62r0cJ7y4YQMaldlQMJxbP78tTV

Update to Version 1969
Exactly what I have in terms of Sandisk 128GB USB-C drive ExFat formatted. I download the Zip file from Skoda portal and unpack it, and I end up with 711 items (710 are folders starting with “MIB31_xxxx.URxxxxx” and one file “PACKAGE.SLIST”). Place these at the root level of SANDisk USB-C drive. However system does not update and sticks to the last map database I have which is 23.12. Really can’t understand what I am doing wrong.

Update to Version 1969
Good to hear and your perseverance paid off. You definitely needed to update to at least version 1941 so good you actually went to latest version. Why the dealers are always so reluctant to do the necessary work? What map database version are you now on. I have had my USB inserted for a long time. All formatted correctly and unpacked files at root level but despite seeing the USB activity light flashing, as if it’s being read, the map database never updates.

Auto Hold - Brake Intermittingly Sticking
Just had my Octavia serviced by the dealership and have noticed that the auto hold brake is intermittently sticking momentarily when I pull off from Stop/Start. Odd, only does it around 20% of occasions but can notice it as Revs go higher as you press the accelerator before it disengages. A bit disconcerting as it was just very smooth and consistent before but now when driving, it just feels off on the occasions it happens Obviously will contact the workshop but has anyone else had a similar experience?

Update to Version 1969
I successfully updated from 1941 to 1969 via USB. Very simple and probably took all of 15-20 minutes. The screen does go completely blank on one or two occasions during the update which makes you slightly anxious but just wait and let it do its thing. TBH, if you are running version 1941 without issue then version 1969 doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. i shared the update file on a couple of file hosting sites - links are in the first few pages of this thread.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Hopefully just some firmware updates required - likely the Telematics module. Also get them to update Infotainment software to latest version. I don’t believe you will require the Display Unit to be replaced - I have H44 with software 2088 and since I had the Telematics firmware updated it’s been very stable.

Pop pop,SOS
It might be worth getting the Telematics module firmware updated. The pop pop by the sat nav position going completely off was something I suffered but getting the Telematics firmware updated sorted it.

Update to Version 1969
Literally this thread - look back at the first 3-4 pages where I have posted two download links I am hosting. Others have also posted their own links. For me, nor really any noticeable difference between 1941 and 1969. You could apply the adage “If it ain’t broken……”

Update to Version 1969
Have you done a factory reset of the infotainment system? After I applied update 1969 my drivers electric seat memory, linked to the keys, stopped working but factory reset sorted it. You will need to log back in as Primary account using both key fobs but all your settings seem to be saved in the cloud so all pretty straightforward.

Update to Version 1969
My sentiments as well. If 1941 is working well for you then upgrading to 1969 doesn’t give you any additional functionality

Latest MIB3 Navigation Database Version
How long did it take for the map database to update. I have had my USB C stick, with the unpacked downloaded files at root level, inserted into the front port for getting on for two weeks and they still haven’t updated. Some journeys there seems to be quite a bit of USB activity (LED on drive flashes) and on others very little or none. It’s the same drive I previously used to update to Infotainment software version 1969 so know it is compatible.

Update to Version 1969
Have you done a full factory restore since updating, It possibly may help? You will have to do the whole key fob thing to become primary user but once you log back in your settings should download from the Skoda. Connect servers.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
You might need to get the dealer to do the infotainment update to version 1941 and then onto latest 1969 version. Also, very likely you will also need some module firmware updates completing, for example the Telematics module, to address the SOS issue. Should all be covered by your Manufacturer’s Warranty. Browse the forum as plenty of information to be had across various threads.
