  1. Interesting it recognised NTFS. ExFat is will also work fine and generally has wider compatibility across platforms and OS - hence why USB sticks generally come pre-formatted ExFat.
  2. Also, I believe Apple MagSafe charging tops out at 15 Watts.
  3. I’m not convinced the front USB ports output much more than 8 watts so getting higher wattage devices is a mute point. On long journeys I get enough charge to keep the phone ticking over and increase the charge overall.
  4. Currently, I have this in my Octavia, it's not a pad but works well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09KZQW6DL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and have a feeling any pad might not quite work due to the phone size (I got the guy who 3D prints the pads to try and he reported back that although it worked you couldn't just drop it on, you had to angle it in a specific way) so I ordered the 99p one from AliExpress to see if it might work but not hopeful.
  5. The odd thing is the keys are still recognized as being linked to the specific user profiles, my understanding is the seat positions are stored as part of each profile. It's a first World problem but still, would be good to get it back. Did consider logging out of the account and back in as sometimes on some systems that can force a setting but I worry that the car won't let me log back in, purely based on Skodas historical reputation with flakey software. Maybe I'll try a forced reboot and see if that works?
  6. Surely your car insurance company needs to ensure that the car is returned to the state it was in before the car was stolen? That's the very essence of car insurance. If these issues existed before the car was stolen then you are responsible for getting them fixed.
  7. I’m big on research before I make a purchase and some how also missed the magnitude of the software issues associated with VAG vehicles. I guess I didn’t imagine such a massive company would release such flakey software and then take an age to fix it. Fortunately, I bought my Octavia October 2023 so although. I had issues at least, by then, there were solutions to remedy them - it must have been incredibly frustrating for early purchasers plagued by these issues with no solution.
  8. Not sure if this is linked to the fact that I recently updated to Infotainment version 1969. Both my wife and I use our own keys for the car which are assigned to our user accounts. The one simple function that we found useful is the last seat position was always automatically saved and linked to the specific key fob / user profile. Very useful when there is a full one foot difference in height between us. As soon as either of us unlocked the car with our specific key the drivers seat would automatically re-position itself to that drivers last preferred position. This function now does not work. Anyone else had this issue before, or noticed it since updating to version 1969? Any solution to getting this handy functionality back?
  9. That would be just the most logical thing to do, wouldn't it? They released cars with shoddy software and firmware but you have to proactively report individual issues on a piecemeal basis and have some sort of awareness of the issues these early cars can have. This forum is an invaluable source of information. The good news is once they are running the updated software and firmware updates they run very well and are great cars.
  10. Whilst it's a bit of a pain it's highly likely that all you need is for the Telematics module firmware to be updated and then it will be fine. If you purchased from a Skoda dealer then they should sort that out for you or if not then you'll have to pay for it. You mention that they want to charge you as it's booked in after the warranty expires, but you have informed them before the warranty expires. Personally I would push back on that either with the dealership or Skoda UK. What Infotainment version are you running - you want to be on at least version 1941. If you do have to pay then likely they'll charge an hours labour so get them to update the Infotainment software, the Telematics firmware, and also the climatic control firmware. I went from the Pop Pop and SOS module crashing almost every journey to being rock solid since the firmware was updated. Once the software/firmware is sorted they are great cars.
  11. As it's supposedly rated at 30 Watts charge I'm hopeful that it's USB-C as I believe USB-A is limited to 18 Watts. Either way, it's 99p and I'll find a use for it as not even sure I'll have it in the car.
  12. Just double-checked under the specifications tab and it states it's a Type C USB connector, although you can never be 100% sure with Ali Express.
  13. Just ordered this one from AliExpress. If you do it as a first order it comes to 99p delivered, otherwise it's £8.52 if not your first order, I already have a Magsafe disc in the car so ordered this one more out of curiosity https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006783744838.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.95dc1802c0QMzb
  14. You will want software version 1941 as that has proven stable and likely to be the version installed on a 73 plate car. Version 1969 has been available for around the last month so that might already be installed on the car - you could ask the dealer to apply the 1969 update before collection, they'll likely say "it will come OTA" but in the spirit of keeping the customer happy it's less than 30 minutes workshop time to apply it.
  15. Just to add I would be doubtful that any hardware replacements would be required in relation to software updates. My First Edition was built in October/November 2020 , had no hardware replaced and It's happily running 1969 which is speedy and responsive with zero reboots or crashes. There was a period when Skoda workshops were replacing some Telematics modules that were linked to an unstable SOS problem but now they have developed a firmware fix that addresses that issue.
  16. I am running both My Skoda and My Skoda Essentials apps on my iPhone and both still receiving data from the servers. Possibly it's a temporary glitch for Android users but I would recommend downloading the My Skoda App as well and trying that out.
  17. Nowadays getting a full tank of fuel from a dealer is a win 🤣🤣
  18. Used Škoda parts last week, genuine Škoda part at a fraction of RRP. Ordered on Monday, delivered Friday.
  19. Paying for a check is totally up to you. The paid ones often give a deeper dive and can sometimes tell you if the car was ever registered as a Taxi, mileage history, and instances of Cat Z. If you pay for a check and everything comes back good then I guess you may think it a waste of money but if you got some massive red flag then it's the best £20 you've spent. At this stage possibly it's overkill and a combination of using several free check services will suffice?
  20. Reasonable request as a gesture of goodwill. Did you pay to get a full breakdown of the cars history. Something I always do when buying a car. Last time I used: https://totalcarcheck.co.uk You might get a red flag that actually isn’t, sometimes outstanding finance comes up but it’s actually the finance the dealership has on their stock - think it’s called “Unit Stocking”
  21. Theoretically, once the works are completed, you have a really decent car that shouldn't present any unexpected surprises for a while and still have the option to reject it if you aren't happy. What's the rear console replacement you refer to (possibly missed this in the discussion)
  22. As long as you have the full 30 days to reject it from the point of them delivering the fixed car to you it certainly sounds not a bad prospect. Just get a full paperwork trail of work done and the actual parts used.
  23. I will be honest - if you could get the work completed at the local dealer that did the checklist I would be more inclined but the reality is they won’t agree with that. I kind of feel that the trust with the selling dealer is broken but, then again, they would be fools not to do everything required and, in that case, the car would then hopefully be very sound with new disc, brakes, tyres, software updates etc. If you reject the car, which would be totally understandable, you never know what potential issues the next prospective purchase, irrespective of brand, will bring. At least you now know the issues that need addressing on this specific car. I have an SEL First Edition, built around October 2020 and first registered January 2021. After I purchased in October 2023 it was a bit of a shaky start, all software / firmware problems, but now they have been resolved it’s a very solid and stable car which I enjoy driving.
  24. If you are rejecting the car I honestly think you should flag your experience with the top brass at Škoda UK. It’s appalling that they sold this car under the banner of Škoda Approved - it undermines the whole thing and is something you would expect more from an Arthur Daley type car lot.
  25. They were pretty useless - we had a long exchange of emails detailing the issue and a promise they would liaise with my local dealership before my appointment. The day before the appointment I then received an email from the same point of contact and it was like we had never had any of the previous conversations - almost like they had read my initial email. from 3 weeks previously, for the very first time. It was one of the only times I lost my **** with a customer agent (I always remain calm and professional) as it was frankly bizarre. Saying that, dealing with the first line of customer support - I'm not even sure they know that it's cars they are meant to be supporting. I had heard that all Skoda customer support had been moved to South Africa in the last couple of years.
