  1. I have found traces of liquid over and around the area as well, but is very difficult to point it as a problem as it is very random. I wipe every time, but again, sometimes it does not happen ...
  2. Not stupid, just cheaping out. Also mine does not have the passenger mirror with dimming, only drivers. Another job on the list, some day to take it out and verify at least if the loom is there, otherwise I will not even bother... I've retrofitted in the past these things (from Audi A6 C5s and A8 D2s into A6/S6 C4s), but I no longer wish to play ... if not there I mean - either at the mirror or at the door outstation, if any, haven't opened yet. My RRP38 has them, both, and both dip in reverse as well ... this since the beginning of production, 1994, a long time ago ...
  3. Mutst have been the music, change genre! Sorry for the bad joke .... before dwelling into older posts, any chance to quickly check this fuel line? Or is it a jack/stands/lift job if the covers need to come down?
  4. I sense your pain, known about this for years. Before I have an alignment job needed, I need to, either myself, or my friend mechanic with a lift, "undo" and loose the nuts so these primadonnas do not complain about "extra effort" required .... And almost all of them are like this! Terrible! Another one that is a classic is after messing around with the alignment, the car still goes crooked and the answer is "steering wheel is out of true" ... 🙄 Now I found an oldtimer that is a big Alfa Romeo nostalgic like myself and he does not care to fire the oxy nd heat up stuff to loose nuts, but it has taken me like years to get to him ....
  5. I think is very un-stylish choice. A brand that has instant recognition should never needed to be spelled, really. But as written before, in this "new world" it seems every needs to be spelled out because people are losing the idea of "imagining" something, they just wanted it all explained out, video'd, tiktoke'd, etc. .....
  6. i would try to confirm is as soon as you can, if it was the gearbox cooler, yes true oil contaminates the engine and needs a flush, but also coolant contaminates the gearbox and I do not recall they react nicely to coolant ...
  7. Thanks J.R. for clearing that up, now we know 🙂
  8. A good OBD scanner/reader could also point an eventual failure in the alarm system. Why don't you look for some Briskodian in your area that has/offers assistance with a diagnostic system such as VCDS?
  9. I have a petrol/benzin, do not know about Diesels. But are plenty information in here 🙂
  10. Totally agree with you, I must say if infrastructure was a tad better, even a petrolhead like myself would feel seriously tempted. There are certain aspects of the EV motoring which are really alluring, like the antonishing get-up-to-speed, the regen capability, and the disarming simplicity of the drivetrain. And while some cars tend to overdo it in the styiling department (Tesla for one), some others have nothing to fear from their 'thermal' cousings. I had the chance to drive a BMW ix3 and while I am allergic to Bavarians, there was nothing that would make you feel in a lesser car compared with its X3 sibling, nothing really. But you said it correct, Superb is a tough one. In my case, all the stuff I was lugging was from one of the vehicles it is replacing, a P38 RR which has been surprisingly reliable, considering its fame. And I managed to fit all that junk without the need to retract the cover, handy when you have to pass border police ... and I did almost 40MPG (Imperial) over couple thousand km of highway ... by myself and did not even get tired ... what can top it indeed 😁
  11. Noted. There is a newish section of the ring road opened recently close to my place, there will test this, which, if is what you guys mention, is really bothering ...
  12. I have met the same trouble, good to bring it up 😉
  13. What you did is madness at these latitudes! Trust the postal service with your driving license! ðŸ˜ē Did you get it back already? The rules and categories have changed for all of us in Europe, what was "M" for the up to 49cc class "mopeds" became AM. And the A in "full", which is also the A3 in some places, is the unlimited motorcycle license. There are two intermediate steps, A1 and A2, with limitations based on age and type of motorcycle. There is also a version of the "A" limited to automatic vehicles, if the test was made with such, like a scooter. Nonsense! I do not know there, but also there is a version of the "B" category with the same silly limitation, this is for automatic if the course and test was made with auto. Again, more nonsense. If you ask me, the first hours of any driving course should be a 101 on Physics, just to understand what means a human body hurled at several meters a second...
  14. I know I am dating myself, but the promotion of a technological wonder that "can save lives" made in this manner automatically makes me associate it with the concept of "you can neglect the rules of the road, including speeding, since the our technology will cover for you". Yeh, I know I am silly, but surely there is someone out there, right in this moment, not paying attention because he or she (or it) knows the car will beep and keep me in check. What an idiotic feeling .... Sometimes I really wish Godzilla would rise up from the sea and diminish the human footprint and reduce our feeling of invincibility mixed with idiocity. Might be wanting too much ... I can settle for the chupacabras out of some woods as well 😜
  15. This "reposition" and the "glory days" make me think that what I thought was the absolute bottom, i.e. the "British Leyland" days, might have indeed been glorious in comparison to this prospected future ... 🙄
  16. My car came with them installed ... they were on the summer wheels/tires, I told my tire guy to source sensors for the winter ones he said "no problem"and the the usual chain of events: he did not order / I forgot to remind / then, all in a rush: I left him wheels / I forgot to remind him / he forgot to order them / I forgot to ask / he did not remember to mention / I put them on like two weeks later because I was busy, and the day before travel .... and here we are 😜 I have been looking at your setup, but I wonder if compatible with the OE system ...
  17. I remembered this topic the other day, in my friends' showroom there was a red 80x and while he was on a call I had all the time to peruse it at will. Size wise, is more compact than a Superb, more Octavia-size. The taller roofline is weird to me, as I am used to swap between a car (the Superb) and a proper SUV (the Range Rover) ... this fits in the middle, gives me the feeling of having both cars' disadvantages and none of the advantages. Inside, not to diss on Paul as each one has its opinions, but I do not think is any better. More restricted driving position, much more plastic everywhere, clever the use of the space in the lower central dash, but the overall feeling is ... cheap, like most EVs. Pity. Rear seat is a bench, and legroom is limited. Boot space is maybe half to 2/3 of the size of the Superb combi, considering there was no double floor and less length ... if the car is still there next week I might take the tape measure and get some recordings ... These are my impressions, I like the car overall, but not so much as the Superb .... Note: just to give an idea of what I mean by space, I managed to fit in the boot: 4 alloys 18s, a glovebox complete, under steering wheel cover, a steering wheel complete, other odds and ends and my travel bag. Under the vario floor, the trasversal roof cargo bars, and on the side wedged between the seats and the pillar, the longitudinal roof cargo bars! All this in a discreet manner, without having anything to be seen from outside ... should have taken pictures, but was in a hurry.
  18. Update on this, I've done already almost 3k km on the new winter tires, car is very different from the summer 19s .... A bit more rolling here and there, but nothing the poor damping of the OE DCC can minimize ... braking is more "spongy", less direct feeling, before it was tighter, but is not a problem, actually lets you modulate better. Easier on the steering and less tramlining than before. Comfort and absorption of road irregularities has improved galactically, is impossible to compare. Mind also my summers are +3 years already, so a bit old and probably not in the best shape. Nevertheless ... Road noise does not seem to have changed, must say these are winters and is winter so difficult to compare. Car stance is less aggressive and sporty looking, but these are looks, and cars are meant to be more driven than looked at 😜 I now will surely downgrade to 18s for next season, I was set on the Antares model, but after seeing the brochure linked above I see there is the option of the Trinity on 18s, which is a design i really like. They do not come for the Superb, but are on 7x18 ET43 with 235/55 for the Kodiaq, and 7x18 ET45 with 215/50 or 225/50 for the Karoq. Superb is listed with a larger rim at 8x18 ET44 with 235/45. I think 235/55 are too big of a fit and the rims are 7 and not 8 ... would 225/45 or 225/50 be reasonable alternatives? I know is early .... we got months ahead! Thanks!😊
  19. Finally, some silly questions 1) when I was searching for the coasting, I've noticed a 'predictive speed limit regulation", anyone knows what this is? 2) in the instruments there is a "no voltage display" set as "not available", I set it to "readout" waiting to see if there was a voltmeter, but I did not see anything ... 3) I forgot to mention in another post for the tires, but a combination of two dimwits - one being me - made me end up with the winter tires without the TPMS sensors installed. As I do not want to take them out again just to refit them, I guess I will survive this winter the old-fashioned way of visual check every forthnight or so. Is there any way I can disable it to prevent the lamp to light up?
  20. The adaptations that failed are these, and I try to explain also what happened ... Scandinavian Lights: I do not see the options that MartiniB has in his coding, namely there is no "Tagfahrlicht" ... I got some "Daytime running Lights" and "Daytime running Lamps" instead, but I tried them to no avail. Maybe a different module wants different options .... Disable DSG coasting: my long codes are totally different, and I do not see the option of "predictive sailing". Efficiency assist: also here, my long code did not indicate anything and I could not see it in the adaptation channels available. Brakes, set autohold to "early". Here it was the only hairy moment, first when I try to access and confirm the adaptation I get this warning message, then trying options I get an error, then finally with Access code listed here 11996 I adapted from 'Normal' to 'Early' and in that moment all Hell brooke loose, Christmas tree lighted up and all systems offline errors started to pop up 😎 I managed to re-enter and return the Autohold to 'Normal' and all went away ... cycled ignition on-off and couple times and run an autoscan and no errors. Will see when on the road, but something was not of the liking of the brakes' module... However, I noticed in the options there is some "Autohold functionality" options. Has anyone ever tried any of those?
  21. Well, after a looong time I managed to find couple hours me, VCDS and the laptop, and the car, to try to code some stuff ... my results. Starting from the long list posted by Martini, I select a few that are the most of interest to me, and these are the results. This time I read well that is needed, and for example I noticed previous time I forgot to set the handbrake "on" 🙄 I did not have the time or the opportunity to take the car out for a drive, so some adaptations are still untested. I also noticed a few were already "set", probably by the previous owner, like: Retain Seat heating Overtaking right prevention Minimize Lane Assist's Ping-Pong Effect The ones I succeded in coding were: Tear Drop Wipe For Front Wipers - must be tested Smoth Dimming / Brightening Internal Light - must be tested, from some reason mine are not coming on when I lock/unlock the car ... Dim Emergency Flasher Button on Dash - works as tested Enable Fan Level display on Climatronic Auto - works as tested add Simple Cruise Control - must be tested ICE Warning threshold - must be tested. Note: to clear the question from above, this wants BOTH the Access code in order to work, and if you do not put the "0" before the new desired value it gives you a "out of range" error. I tried all options to make sure we know how it must be made ... Refuel quantity, but I always forget to see it ðŸĪŠ No seat belt warning - tested. Note: sometimes I do long low-speed manouvering in private areas and the belt is a hassle. I do actually use it on the road, religiously. Throttle response - must be tested The SRA activated on long pull of the washer stalk, as indicated above. Must be tested. The onces I did not manage to make it work I will list on another post, to make photoscreens of what happened. I forgot to try the auto lights' threshold and some others ... next time!
  22. This some days ago ... fitted a XLR throttle box, noticeable improvement in riding comfort! Even on N is already better than the original setting! I usually use it S or S+ and already found it more than adequate. Have a laugh ... I fitted the controller "temporarily" in the coin/storage box by the steering wheel, since I was not sure I was going to like it or not. I usually open the box, change a setting, and drive, so I can evaluate how it performs. I am driving in traffic stop-and-go so to avoid too fast reaction I open and pass from S+ to N ... close the box and after a moment I notice car starts to become jerky and kangarooing like a mad horse ... I open the box and my handgel-bottles surely pressed and it was in R+ 😁ðŸĪŠ Cannot imagine what it must be driving at WOT in R+ setting .... must be wild! Another step forward.
  23. **** 😐 I did not know and decided also to get it on offer, and the offer included some credits which I thought to use for the one-click option ... well, will see when it gets here.
  24. I do not know where you are, so you should check the intervals for your country. Here they give it at 80k km, but I arranged to have it done earlier, at 60k.
  25. Oh ... I got time, do not worry ... is very low in the list of priorities!! Like you, I got to get rid of many things before it ... so I understand you very well! What happened with the areaview?
