changing tyres from 235 45 18 to 225 40 18. Is it a bad idea?
There are too many interesting, but sparse, threads on tires. Somewhere else is written 245/45 it seems a reasonable option. I am also uncertain as I will go 18s this season.

noise insulation
I imagine you want to work on the footwells and area under the feet? Your access will be extremely limited... my experience in other cars is that you can remove the plastic trim on the doorsills, but this will barely get you a hand in ... is tight. You need to remove at least the front seats to be able to lift the carpet enough ... and by then might as well remove all interior and do it at once.

Goodbye Superb, hello Kodiaq
It is always difficult ... I found mine in Czech Republic, after months of search. Now I lust for an old Landy, and in spite of the fact that they are plenty around, there are also none ... interesting problem!

Perfect service history, my ass!
I also agree ... in the contect of paying for a service and not having it done ... that is an interesting one ð

Non convex left rear view mirror glass - anyone know who sells one
Yes, that is correct, I had this problem when we were making youngtimer Audis and I had a customer that wanted to have both "long" mirrors, and I sorted a RHD driver's and thought to adapt it and it was useless. For those too young to remember, until the late 90's some German manufacturers and models would have different door/wing mirrors, driver's side would be longer, while passenger's would be shorted and a tad "wider".

Goodbye Superb, hello Kodiaq
Compliments on the change, "new" car always feels good. Will be curious to hear opinion on the differences, personally the big K does not call me at all. Bap, strange you would not be able to get, is been around a few years, I see already many around for sale ....

minor facelift
The above guess is very much into the topic, looking at both models I sense a massive expense to update so many things, to make a pre-FL become a FL. I had wrote a bunch of rubbish about being able only to update bumper grill and fogs, but I got a feeling and went to check online and travs is spot on, also headlights are different while very similar

Look for some car shop or parts shop where they sell aftermarket parts, you might find a non-original or non-OEM product that comes without the feature that annoys you. Usually cheaper mirrors do not have this.

Oil leake
Three drops of oil is nothing, but if you had cleaned well the engine you will find a way to get to see where it really comes from. Oil is very tricky ... it can spread wide and you think are liters - or gallons - and instead is very little. I had a leak in what I thought it was the front diff of my Range Rover, then I found it was weeping from above from the gasket of the valve covers, then I see now is leaking through the valley gasket (the center of the "V") but being too much I searched elsewhere and I found either the oil pressure sensor gasket or the oil relief, both next to tackle. But - they are located in the front/right of the engine, and my drops are on the front left/left of the engine. Which means oil not always leaks "top to down" like water ... no ... the miserable liquid likes to travel around. If you like me hate oil leaks - and makes my wonder why I still love Land Rovers - then use the clean engine as a reference point. Good luck!

Rear washer - poor pressure
This is an interesting one ... I exclude a second pump for the rear, have never seen a vehicle with such configuration. The ones with "double" systems had their own reservoir and pump, but this is going back at least 20 years. Leaks excluded, what about the type of liquid you use? Some could get more "jelly" once temps fall, and this would make the pump work harder and spray less.

Skoda superb 280 hk turbo pressure?
Meat &Doria is a well-known brand of aftermarket and equivalent to OE parts, also they have been around since a while, but while I know for things such as fuel pump, I would not know for a turbo core ... In your case, as you want to keep going stock, I would look for a reputable turbo builder in your area and have them refurb your unit, or swap for a refurb unit wich exchange. Buying online who knows what might work for cheap, but assembling together a turbo is little above average wrenching, and if something goes wrong you got the inconvinience to prove who or what was at fault. To each its choice ...

Perfect service history, my ass!
I have seen this happening on other vehicles as well, both Skoda and non. It is a pity that quality of the "branded" service has to be questioned this way. I can't wait until I am out of warranty ... and deal with the car on my own terms, after all ... I "own" it ð

Strange sound from the ventilation
I do not really recommend to abandon maintenance, if the "grinding" of the mechanism due to poor lubrication ends up in a sieze or a breaking of components, the result will be the dash out and it will be much less pleasant than just squirting some lube from the ventilation hole ....

Change Units in virtual dash
Mine is as your, there is an "units" and I can change there the things that are displayed in the dashboard .... Sorry DIPP ... can it be that different infotainment devices have different setting options? That would be stupid, but .... not suprinsing, nowadays ð

Strange sound from the ventilation
I have this noise on "cold" startup as well, and I need to address it. For detailed information and visual explanation - which I plan to follow as well - scroll down on page 173 of this thread, and its followin on page 174.

How to make Canton sound better on Superb Mk3?
He he ... actually is not that I am that "dedicated" ... not wanting to digress too much, but I am generally old-fashioned, which means I like to "own" something, and paying an artist for his, hers or their work is a testament to musicianship. For the same reason, if I feel like listening to an artist, I usually select an album and ... play it. Except a few here and there that put "fillers", most albums are a reflection of a specific time and moment, and if you can connect with that, the listening experience is really rewarding, even after countless times playing .... Unfortunately, in spite of being enourmously advantageous, streaming services are not my cup of tea. And I got stuff that I do not see "streamed" anyway, and finally I need to dismiss the space that my CDs and LPs occupy (sigh), so at least I can reduce them in size and increase the management of them by going digital ...

superb iv: a few questions..
That is tight indeed ... how far are you in the back? Occasionally I park in a garage - same door as yours! - and I need max space, so I glued a soft panel to the wall, I park as far back as I feel comfortable, then leave the car in Neutral and manually push it until it touches the wall - actually the soft panel. This gives me every cm possible.

How to make Canton sound better on Superb Mk3?
The above comment by SkodaKing is very important ... using an expression which goes very common nowadays, in my quest to "improve the Canton experience" I've realized most of the MP3s in my USB drive - I do not stream spotify or youtube or tiktok - are rarely 320kbps, sometimes 128 or 160. These are what I've ripped or "napsted" eons ago, so I never paid much attention to, also because before the Superb I've had cars with "real" players and I was only listening to CDs, and audio CDs to that. So now I've started - slowly, when I have time - to rip my CD collection to FLAC, and make new USB drives and see if how this changes the "experience" in the car. Stay tuned! ð Nevertheless, I'd love a throbbing bass that punches through the seat ... I can't help it ðĪ

2.0tdi struggles to tow.
Sounds disappointing ... I have no experience with caravans but yes with a twin-axle car loader, which gets to sizeable weights sometimes. I have only used it once with the Superb so this is not relevant, plus mine is with DSG, but I have towed over 1500kg with older A6 both petrol and Diesels, and the behaviour you report tells me the car is struggling off the start which is curious. Sometimes you do have to play with the feet with a manual, but if you are on the verge of clutch slipping and juddering and every start, then something is amiss. Any way you can try your caravan with some friend's car, and him to try to pull - even in a parking lot - yours? Just to exclude, of just focus on, something wrong mechanically. The DSG will take away the pedal guesswork, but I have also heard is not fantastically suited for towing ... although being in use since couple decades now ...

How to make Canton sound better on Superb Mk3?
I am missing some 'punch' in my Canton as well ... I am sure it was dealt with in the past, but will have to dig. Yeah I know nowadays is like this, but I have grown (at least chonologically! ðĪŠ) in the 80's and 90's ... loud bass was the norm. This imprinting remains ...

Change Units in virtual dash
Go to 'vehicle' 'settings' 'units' and then you have a drop down menu. I do this often, even on the go, I like to measure in km/l, but all my friends here reason in l/100km, and of course when I have to disclose to you my exploits in fuel consumption, I switch to MPG UK ... ðĪŠ

DCC Slider adjustment option mod
So far I have not seen who can make remote, except very rare cases .... seems not so straighforward. I also would like an option to someone at lower latitudes .... we wait.

Dogbone
Interesting, I am following this as well .... I had selected this mod when I have time ... question for JR that has done the mode, as is not indicated in the installation ... the drop arm can be removed with the transmission as it is, or it need to be supported separately by a jack/stand? I should also crawl down there and take a look at the mount ... Travis, this website has a lot of cool stuff ... ðĪŠ
