  2. Yep! bird poo on the windscreen in front of the camera will do it. Failure of the camera will also do it. Try a reset of the infotainment. Press and hold the on off button until you see the clock, keep holding until the system starts to reboot.
  3. Because we also run a Golf from 2021 I have a little knowledge. As has been mentioned either of the aerials can be faulty, or it can be software or the actual SOS module in the car. In some cases it can be linked to faulty steering wheel buttons. Faulty cable normally translates to "fat finger syndrome" in the factory.
  4. This can happen when the original primary user is still registered. A Skoda dealer should be able to fix it once you prove you are the owner.
  5. This is not unusual, a lot of VAG cars from around 2020 / 2021 suffer from this. Normally it requires a module to be replaced. it was a big topic on all forums once. Most people got it fixed.
  6. Well from what you say the setting were changed. If not the valeters then possibly due to an OTA software update.

  8. You had a bulb fail warning only or you had a bulb fail warning and the bulb was failed / not working as it should? To answer the question, there are two levels of fault code, one is universal, it means the same irrespective of make and model of car. The second level is manufacturer specific, these codes may or may not be recorded in the car memory. Generally codes that effect engine / drivetrain life and or emission control and or safety are recorded. Something light a failed light is more of a grey area as it easy to see the bulb has gone or not.
  9. You need to be aware, to avoid scaring yourself, that the car will collect lots of error codes all the time. The ECU then makes a judgement, based on programming, about how serious the code is. To use the jargon, if the code becomes persistent then a warning light will appear on your dashboard. If the code is a transient, then despite the fact it is recorded it will not trigger a warning light. However, several of the same transient within a time period will cause a warning light. I can't be more specific as the manufacturer decides the time period and number of codes within that period. To make it worse it will be different for every type of fault code. Eventually transients are erased by the ECU.

If you have the bulb failure warning system then fitting LED's might trigger it off as the resistance is different.
  11. You are probably just better off going for a whiter halogen bulb. The colour temperature should not vary that much between main and dipped beam so best check for any signs of corrosion on the connectors. Plenty of companies offer whiter / brighter halogen bulbs.
  12. I don't think this is odd, the last thing you want is the tailgate shooting up on it's own. The struts are intended to assist with the opening. Power tailgates use a motor. The time to replace the struts is when the fail to support the open tailgate.
  13. Pretty sure the days of getting the money off and then cancelling the PCP are long gone. Others may take a different view.
  14. Quite a lot will get in through the window seal. It should all drain out via the weep holes. If is is not then clear the weep holes out until water will run out freely. If there is water in the bottom of the door it is a big problem.
  15. Don't take any nonsense. Explain how you park your car. Explain that Skoda Garage has told you why the speaker is a problem. Ask for a better speaker with a water shield and for the speaker to be sealed into the door with a non hardening mastic. Also ask all screw holes to be sealed. I once had a similar problem and cured it by sealing a sheet of plastic inside the inner skin with mastic so the speaker was protected.

  17. Yes, to use the car infotainment (well most of it) now you must "register" as the user. This means you need the Skoda App. If the car has a previous "registration" I think the dealer has to cancel it. Skoda seem to have their system set up as discoverable (this is minimum privacy the way Volkswagen describe it.) But either way the tiny globe must not be greyed out and if you have the "man in a hat" symbol this must not show maximum privacy. My dealer advised me to set the app up 24 hours before I collected the car. This way registration proceeds quickly. If you try to register and then link to the car at the same time it can take a while.
  18. You have generated good evidence. I think it is clear that the parking on a side slope is allowing the water that gets in at the base of the window to drip onto the inner door skin. This inner skin is full of holes and areas where water could get out into the car. The only other thing you could try is putting the water onto the window on the low side of the car and checking it runs out via the weep holes. If it does then you have enough info for the dealer to fix it.
  19. Sorry @logiclee we are at cross purposes. Yes if you obtain an early settlement figure you can keep the additional services. If you think you get to keep them for free you are living in another world. The residual cost is calculated and taken account of in the settlement figure. If you cancel a PCP contract, as the OP seems to want to do, you'll lose these additional services. Try reading the info I linked for the OP
  20. As I said, try a system reboot first. Lots of minor things have a habit of glitching on VAG products. Nearly all can be fixed by rebooting the infotainment if they are controlled via the infotainment.
  21. Far too many folks in this thread think they know more that the manufacturer. As a reminder, if you fail to operate your vehicle using the settings and specifications provided by the manufacturer you MAY commit a road traffic offence and you MAY invalidate your insurance. As such then giving advice which encourages other forum members to ignore, change or modify critical functions can create a liability. TBH @nta16 if you don't really like VAG products then don't buy them, that way VAG will get the message.

Have a look at this: How to Get out of a PCP Agreement Early | Leasing Options If you've bundled additional services with the PCP contract and you wish to keep them then you'll need to pay whatever the cost of those services was when you ordered the car. Or "buy" those services on a new finance agreement. Note: some services can only be purchased at the time of placing the vehicle order. This is a complication. Is this Skoda PCP or third party? Was there a "deposit contribution" from the dealer? Generally this is paid out of the commission the dealer gets when selling you the PCP contract but it can be paid, indirectly, by the finance company. Potentially, the loss of interest to the finance company means the dealer won't get their commission. So both parties will seek to claw back the money from you. Why did you enter into a PCP contract if you didn't want one?
  23. Look, the manufacturer tells you to code in the new battery for a reason. As has been mentioned the cars battery management will adapt over time to the old battery and it's reduced capability. Cut out all the hoping, guessing and faffing about, just go and get the new battery coded to the car. Unless you like buying batteries, in which case do nothing.
  24. Don't take the interior trim off as a first step. You can see the weep holes near the bottom of the door. It's easy to check if they are blocked with a bit of stiff wire. If they are not blocked then water can drain out. What skomaz say is right to the extent that if the car is parked leaning over at quite an angle then the water that gets in at the base of the window could drip onto the inner door skin. (usually it drips down into the bottom of the door). If this is what is happening then you will need to take the door card off. and consider sealing up the areas he shows in pink on his diagram. If you want to take the card off it is mostly held on by clips but there will be a few screws as well. The clips are bust opened using a trim clip tool to avoid breaking the clip or damaging the trim.
