Android Auto for phone screens will stop working soon.
It's only the phone version that will stop. Wired versions (and wireless if available) will continue so you can rest easy.

TPMS on second set of wheels
The difference between direct and indirect sensing is that the former will show each individual wheelβs tyre pressure. As for the question above, if you have got the correct pressures then press the set button until it beeps.

TPMS on second set of wheels
Another set of sensors can indeed be fitted to a different set of wheels if needed - OEM isn't too cheap though. If the wheels don't have these connected then the car turns off monitoring by default. Not too sure if the backup rotation monitoring takes over instead.

How to get radio code ??
Have a look under the driver's seat to see if a BT module is there. If the Bolero is OEM to the car then you won't need to re-enter the code as the car stores 'a few' such numbers.

Skoda 1.6 TDI rims and tyres
Please only use English on Briskoda. π Hey, I have such a dilemma I'm going to buy new tires and I'm thinking about rims. I have a 1.6 tdi station wagon (90ps) and now I have 16 comets from Romster with 205/45/16. I've been thinking over 17 but I don't know or I'll lose a lot of comfort and performance. I even had the idea that I would put 15 there but it would give me small rims but again probably quite comfortable. It is possible to have 17 on the car when I go to the MOT. Because what I looked at my car is a maximum of 16 rims, but I know that some of them also have 18 rims, but these are probably VR. Does anyone have experience with 205 55 R16 tires? Because I read that my Skoda is on 205 45 R16. I think size 55 is better for disk protection and better comfort. It may sound a little confusing, but thank you for any advice and feedback.

Turn ignition
I'm not au fait with the Karoq but it should follow with other VAG cars. Either press the infotainment On button or the Start button without having your foot on the brake.

Speed sign camera - is this common?
Just wait until all the new cars from next(?) month have predictive (and adaptive) cruise control instead of just adaptive cruise control. My Superb only shows the latest speed sign and doesn't seem to chop and change as yours does though.

EA888 Tsi APR INTAKE FOR SALE
Hopefully @N888DRS can either provide tracking details or a reason for what appears to be a very slow delivery. Depending upon the payment method, @alexjbassist may need to seek recourse elsewhere

Photography Thread
Not the clearest photos but they were of the film crew & actors from the latest Full Monty being filmed at Sheffield United FC. No plot spoilers from me though. The ironic thing is that I was also present at one of the original locations as they were filming that.

Calliper painting time π¬
I've previously hand painted from a 250ml eBay can and found it sufficient for two coats on four calipers. This was 'on the car' and the only prep was to ensure everything was meticulously clean. No primer was used and the colour seemed to last for quite a while. Shame I can't remember what colour was ordered though.

Columbus Map Update 2022-2023 (MIB1/2 HIGH)
I haven't written anything for years but it wasn't the ability to write that was the problem, it was usually the need to select a slow speed and have quality media that was the overriding factor. Just going OT, can you remember also being able to 'LightScribe' a CD/DVD label directly to the disk! Probably even rarer than dual layer writers?

Columbus Map Update 2022-2023 (MIB1/2 HIGH)
The Columbus of your era was the VW RNS510 equivalent. Maybe try a post in the Superb 2 section?

Columbus Map Update 2022-2023 (MIB1/2 HIGH)
Dual layer disks are notorious for being 'difficult' to work with. In saying that, a person would only need one if they were copying a file which had been downloaded from the internet - i.e. an unofficial source of the data. π It also depends upon how the file has been downloaded. Usually they came as *.ISO files which can be written directly (with a suitable writing program) without unzipping.

Columbus Map Update 2022-2023 (MIB1/2 HIGH)
Wouldn't this unit be one that requires a dual layer DVD disk to load the maps?

Skoda insurance
I very much doubt their quote would have been comparable with the market leaders either. That's the thing I don't like about buying a car. Having the (insert job occupation here) coming to have a 'final (sales) chat' prior to the paperwork being signed off and letting you get on your way.

Skoda insurance
As you say - horses for courses. I got it for my current car and thankfully haven't needed to use it. I will still do it for the next one - just in case! π

Skoda insurance
I appreciate this thread is essentially about the βfreeβ insurance on offer but whilst considering that, donβt forget to ponder about choosing GAP insurance too as that could also be thought of as being a must have buy. There is an Insurance section on Briskoda for you to browse the different options.

Skoda insurance
I've previously taken up an offer of free short term insurance from another VAG dealer. It was only to allow me to take more time in sorting out the 'full' insurance as the rate quoted wasn't really competitive.

Radio stays on after I take out key
As my recollections were from when I initially had my first Mk2 in 2007, J.R's post did stir up that people's discussions regarding similar circumstances to yours. Hopefully someone who's trod the same path can assist.

Radio stays on after I take out key
It's all down to the live and switched live being in the wrong locations. As to which are the correct locations - maybe check on the OEM headunit.

Enough is Enough
I can sympathise with your ongoing dilemma as you're not the only person to have such problems. Hopefully you're not blaming Briskoda for the Skoda issues though? π

SKODA SUPERB HEADLIGHT MELTING PROBLEM
@AYES You appear to have been trying to add the photo as a 'spoiler' photo - but that's wrong and didn't work either so I've deleted it. Just use the 'Drag files here to attach, or choose files...' at the bottom left of the message box and hopefully you'll succeed. π
