  1. Scoring is just from Salted / Gritted roads in winter or chuckies stuck at some point. Has the car got a manual hand brake rather than an e-brake? Get up some hill and a bit of light application of the hand brake. Or you just drive a bit applying the hand brake lightly.
  2. If you do not need AWD and to put on appropriate tyres for Winter / Snow then no need to go AWD. But then the 2WD can need All Season or Snow tyres depending on where it is you drive. They are a lump of a motor to get places if the traction is poor, even getting out of a muddy car park / field or a snowy one.
  3. Skoda UK have the Air filter schedule for replacement @ 6 years / 60,000 miles. Total tosh, An airfilter should get checked at every service. Not all airboxes are simple to open, but then the person Servicing is supposed to be a Tech / Fitter.
  4. Repeat.But, With a longer drive.
  5. Do not change your 2013 TDI with DPF to 5w 40 FS VW502 00. But if you can find VW 504 00 / 507 00, 5w 40 FS III long life then on you go.
  6. Sorry but not see most of the posts text. Not sure if your end or my fault.
  7. @mantasgaj Is the noise only there when it is wet roads?
  8. Are the pressures all correct if you stop as soon as you can when the warning shows. In a safe place. Check when hot that there is no sticking brake caliper or bearing going and the hub, wheel heating and a tyre expanding. The warnings are not always a loss of pressure / circumference.
  9. Good that you have registered your concerns with them early on in your Warranty Period. Is there only one Dealership you can visit, and one master tech? Have they driven the car, or have you asked the Dealership Dealer Principal to test drive it?
  10. Welcome. Are you asking if others with the same car have the same noise or no noise? What is it a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI MHEV?
  11. @OldKaroq The new car should drive as you drive after you cover some miles and not like a demonstrator that some Dealership employees or potential customers drove it. Enjoy.
  12. @Alex707070 Have you got that burned out clutch from them yet that came off the car ?
  13. Rear vRS Mk2 Fabia estate is where they are different, it is. 9 3/4" longer and not really just 5 kG heavier. Rear does not squat under acceleration and lose traction at the front. But then then the hatch need not so much when you remove the 'Success Ballast' off the rear crash bar. What allows the Estate and Sister cars from VW, Seat & Audi that are really heavier and not quicker 0-60, or 70 or 80 mph to get the VW Kidology figures..
  14. @QuinFin Does that work if the car is set for Variable / Flexible servicing & you want to put it to Fixed Service Regime warnings?
  15. They are not for town / city short cold start trips really. But then there are plenty Delivery Vehicles around that do just that. Or Taxis that simply keep the TDI ticking over while 'waiting' on a fare.
  16. @Carlston might see this and comment. vRS Standard 'Sport' springs were stupid expensive a few years back, or there were the cheaper to buy 'option springs' (Dealer fitted Eibach. There were Monroes for the Twinchargers. 'SE3387' Front.
  17. So anyway. Change is coming. Westminster is changing planning in England and will sort out those councils and NIMBY,s that are holding things up. Not anytime soon. No big rush to get things more green for everyone. More Nuclear eventually and the next generations will still be paying for the decommissioning of what provided cheap electricity for past generations.
  18. I take it now you will want it set for Fixed Oil & Filter servicing so 12 months and a week / 9,400 miles and not on Variable if it is still set for that.
  19. Money, easy come easy go to those with money. Millions in the UK have not enough money to pay bills and feed them selves. While Haves get Free or Cheap electricity and grants for Heat Pumps. The law is changing in the UK to allow plug in Solar and prices will supposedly be cheap. Battery storage to power your home is not cheap yet. Then we have the fire hazard. As it is many hundreds of thousands of peoples residences have still not had Cladding sorted out, and have properties they can not sell.
  20. Was it a Demonstrator that got a Oil & filter change 3 months ago, or why was then if only 5,000 miles from new. Was the Service Indicator reset and did you check so that after the Oil Service it showed 24 months, 18,000 to 20,000 miles, or if on Fixed 9,400 miles / 372 days? Did the person maybe reset the 'Service' indicator and not the Oil Service indicator. They can be set for the same time and not 2 different setting.
  21. Did they just have a trained fitter that could do a check but not any work if required? No quotes from them? I hope you have checked your wheel bolts tightness and tyre pressures and reset if needed and the TPMS reset. Best go to an AC Specialist IMO.
  22. @lol-lol You really live in a parallel universe if you really believe nearly every household can make their own electric and store it in batteries. Not everyone is in detached homes, terraced or blocks. There are Flats in all sorts of heights & multi-storeys. Places with no Gardens or places that are Listed or in Heritage areas etc etc. Housing Associations, Local Authority / Council houses, buy to lets etc etc. Houses of Multiple occupancy. Then on Canal Boats / River Boats, Caravans, Mobile Homes & many types of residences. So solar and battery is a major investment which someone has to pay for if it is possible to have. It is like the factual nonsense about how many vehicle drivers have Off Street parking where they can charge BEV,s or PHEV,s.
  23. Even with a new MOT i would be avoiding unless it is no more than £500. Maybe it has another years life.
  24. They have the 8 Nuclear Power stations in the UK & abroad including Torness in Scotland. Even if only 5 are generating in the Uk and all that electricity available. Torness supposedly produces enough to power 75% of homes in Scotland and it is not being used for that. As well to make it 'Much Cheapness' or Free.
  25. Is it a 2010 car. 1.4 VTi. So 'Timing chain' issues with some of those. Not a belt as far as i know. Hardly bumping price if it needed the head doing. So ask again about the CAM BELT. See if the sales person knows Jack Sh-!t. Non VTi is 8 or 16 valve and cam belt. Known to possibly have head failures
