Cambelt and head repaired ?
There is no way of knowing. Is this one of the Peugeot 1.2 Puretech engines that have Wet Belt issues / failures, hence the repair required. Maybe best leave that one where it is if it is.

the truth about electric cars
PS. Not just Pylons, Sub Stations, huge substations, blocked in planning by residents that block anything. Well reduce power to their regions. Put their tariffs up, and be sure their homes get reduced power day times and stuff them. Not just the issue in Scotland. The Southern parts of the UK need to be dealt with.

the truth about electric cars
The UK needed the National Grid upgrades a decade past. The UK needs to 'Take back control'. Have ENERGY SECURITY. Nationalise the NATIONAL GRID. Forget the Arms race & the spending to be able to fire missiles costing millions of quid or to get a train trip to be 20 minutes quicker (for some, very few. HS2) . As to the Navy, it looks like half the fleet are under maintenance and the rest going in for running repairs far too often, and still not enough humans to be operating what is working.

EPC and Check Engine Light On
How many miles has it done. When were the Spark Plugs replaced? Miles. Needs a proper scan to see if there are logged Fault Codes like Misfires. How long ago was it refuelled.? Filling stations started getting Summer fuel or should have at end March. Should not make any difference as E10 is E10 or E5 is E5. but funnily there are cars throw a wee misfire this time of year.

Newbie to Briskoda (2017 Mk3 Skoda Octavia 1Ltr)
Welcome. How many milers has the car done. When were the Spark plugs replaced last. They are a 40,000 mile / 4 year thing. 3 cylinder 1.0 TSI can need done sooner. When was the Air Filter checked or replaced? Unlikely dodgy fuel from ASDA because they sell so much and the Internet would be telling as thousands of cars get their fuel there . Pumps have filters. Fuel supplied has changed from Winter spec to summer spec at the end of March, or should have depending on what ASDA has bought up and from where. It is not quite as volatile in summer but still 95 ron minimum.

Mk III oil pressure indication
And some cars had Oil Pressure gauges. All that is being looked for here is a 'Light check' to show that the Warning symbol will show, assuming the sensors work. The Low Oil warning can be crap and oil down by 1/3 rd with some engines and low oil pressure shows before the Low Oil light shows. eg 1.4 TSI / TFSI Euro 5 Twin Chargers. 3.6 litre oil capacity.

the truth about electric cars
I will plug in and charge for 2 hours tomorrow afternoon just to see how it goes. it will just be about 5 kWh extra from my usual afternoon usage. They are crediting 20 pence back per kWh so not really gaining me anything as i will be 29 pence a kWh daytime tariff, but i can afford 15 pence to join in. I was away the past 2 times they let me know about 'Powering up'.

the truth about electric cars
^^^ England! Way behind the curve. Sufficient electricity generating capacity in Scotland now. Lots more coming on stream. Just not the National Grid up to it and not enough battery storage with pumped hydro, battery farms or hydrogen production. But the Nuclear power station in Scotland will be shutting down. Tories and Labour, Lib Dems and Reform UK are going on about the Small Modular Nuclear needed. That is going at a fast pace in England. NOT.

DSG stalling in reverse
Common issue with some 1.6TDI and a DQ200 DSG, not so much with 2.0 TDI or TSI and DQ250,s. Wet Clutch DSG,s.

the truth about electric cars
TV presenters and News Paper reviewers on the Telly this morning kept speaking about Dish Washers & Washing Machines. On Radio 4, 5 & World Service they did talk of EV,s and Home Batteries. A Distillery in South Scotland, Annandale is running on Green Energy. Offpeak and a new Boiler System. Electricity is used to heat water and make steam and they store steam at a very high temperature using a 'heat battery' or 'Steam Bank' and then use that to run their boilers. Whisky production and bottling on site. The issue is the HIGH ELECTRICITY costs when not Offpeak. The Decarbonisation Project grant. £3.6 Million from UK Government. Our money...

Mk III oil pressure indication
For decades with most VW Group / Skoda models there has been no Yellow Oil can or Red Oil can warning light check showing with turning ignition on. But there is a Yellow Oil can (low oil) or Red Oil can (Low oil pressure) symbol that shows if there is need to. . Or a message.

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol I went and drove the big one and the small one last year. The small one was just fine for size / parking. Like the porridge and the 3 bears. I have a Main Dealer close and a Maxus tech as a neighbour.

the truth about electric cars
A perfect equipped used diesel pickup suitable for my needs came up for sale locally. A Fiat Fullback 2.4 Auto. With Pickup bed cover, reversing camera, leather etc. Insurance is fine with my Admiral Multicar & economy is what is pretty much expected at under 40 mpg, maybe more like 35. VED not crazy. So as much as i want to just go buy it i think for once i best hold off to see how fuel prices go. I was not really planning on buying anything till the end of the summer anyway. I might go for an Electric Pickup up or Van later in the year if i can get a bigger battery one (good range) at a good price. Public Charging costs would be less important with at least 200 miles range.

Burnt out clutch
West End Skoda have a bit of a history of people having issues with replacement clutch issues. I know Clutches are a Wear & Tear issue. So does the 2 Years Parts & labour warranty count for nothing. Are you a RAC member for a Engineers Report. ????? How many miles were covered in that 8 weeks. Talk to the Dealer Principal and get in writing what they are saying about their technicians work carried out on your car and it being 'Driver error'. You might need a specialist engineers report. From now on maybe use http://autohausedinburgh.co.uk Proper Master Techs.

Burnt out clutch
@Alex707070 Welcome to the forum. What is your Kamiq, a 1.0 TSI? There are threads around this forum with cars under 10,000 miles with burnt out clutches, or 36,000 miles. Sometimes Ex Demonstrators. Some are soon after being bought and told 'drivers error'. I see your location is Scotland. Where are you and was it a main dealer that did the Clutch Replacement. Can you say where it was done?

Actual v estimated mileage and charger anxiety
There are no Terms & Conditions for the Battery Warranty that you if you buy a BEV from VW group you can not charge it to full and get the sort of range they advertise as that would Invalidate the warranty. So what does it matter the charge levels? Not good if you leave the battery almost or at empty for prolonged periods.

Maintenance periods - Mandatory and Recommended for extended components lifespan.
@Caustic-Chris Are you opening the MCU to change that tiny filter? Best not.. The MCU is 1.0 1.1 liters. But the 1.1 liters is for a Dry Fill. Like if you had the MCU open.
