  1. Today was the first time i spotted a Hyundai Ionic 9 Htac. What a beast of a car. Not as bad llooking as the Big Kia version IMO.
  2. Or on the central screen more often these days. Owners manuals are a common source of 'how to'.
  3. 'Noon today 1/3rd of electricity was from solar'. Just heard on the Radio. No idea if This Country, that often being England. Or the UK, or was it The British Isles. PM on Radio 5 never that good and stating facts.
  4. Worth a listen to, on now or on BBC Sounds. BBC Radio 4. 'Currently' Power to the People : Rewiring Britain.
  5. How the Treasury / HMRC will collect the money will be fully announced. As it is if only using fuel you are using more if not using electric. As it is if Public Charging the 30 or even 50 miles was as costly as petrol. As prices rise nearer equal as fuel prices rise and publc charging not yet. If you have a 6 pence a kWh home tariff fair enough. 20 kWh £1.20 For those that were getting BIK then happy days. Why many never bothered charging. This is a social divide, many cars running engines maybe for 3 years. Private owners maybe seldom ran the engine and home charged.
  6. Yes agreed first line Warranty, 8 years 100,000 miles. But this line the Battery life and 70% guarantee relevant for Full Electric.
  7. But, the Chancellor and the Government on purpose fail to see the bigger picture which is, if people have more money left from lower costs for transport they spend it on something else. But if the are higher than average earners with more money than needed it could be on foreign holiday, or even 2nd homes. Tax the frequent fliers then and tax holidays homes x3. It is like Benefits and allowances, people spend and money stays in the economy. As it is with car buying it is the Chinese economy benefiting the most now it seems, be it BEV,s PHEV,s or ICE Cars.
  8. Michelin have RFID,s implanted into tyres at manufacture now for their sake in handling, stock, traceability for scrappage / recycling. There are TPMS,s now that can identify the tyres with the RFID.
  9. Re E Fuels. While there are Energy Issues globally then producing E Fuels required lots of Electricity. Good if there are excesses of Solar, Wind, Wave etc. Like in Scotland, renewables going unused because of the National Grid. Time to have E Fuel production in Scotland then.
  10. @Graham Butcher EV,s have onboard AC chargers so not being able to unplug a tethered cable from an EV,s charge port is not going to be old connections if cars are brand new or nearly new. Or even getting your own cable uplugged from the car.
  11. Good, warranty for faults on both and degredation guarantee just on Full Electric.
  12. That is an Electric car battery. EV,s can have a green flash on reg plate A plug in hybrid is not an Electric car. But if the PHEV,s battery is covered the same then they will show that someplace. PS. Next year 3 pence a mile tax on EV,s. 1.5 pence a mile PHEV,s
  13. Drive a 130 and see if good enough. VW are not going to make the error again that they did with Fabia vRS twincharger which was actuallh lighter anc quicker and cheaper than the Polo GTI, Ibiza Cupra anc A1 185. Meant they sandbaged the hatch as also lighter and quicker and cheaper than the Fabia Estate. 177 bhp, but feed it 99 ron and dyno it and that is the min not max.
  14. Eon Next brought the Offpeak night rate down the same pence as the day tariff.
  15. There is a huge difference in climate /ambient temps with the UK and Bristol area and Finland.
  16. @lol-lol That link is a good guide. Pity that after TESLA and until recently Stellantis was the other major BEV manufacturer with so many brands but basically the same platform but no mention. ? Did you not get a chance to fix your tariff for 12 months and your low rate?
  17. Skoda dealt with the issues of Octavia PHEV,s and cold weather or engines not being run much. They discontinued manufacturing them. But still there is the Superb and Kodiaq. Time will tell how these go.
  18. No idea if correct. Just a post off Facebook. The issue is you can nit trust the AI answer on a Skoda PHEV as seems to be for an BEV not a PHEV or MHEV. But then an answer from Skoda Customer Services can be as wrong as an AI answer. Skoda website info should be easy to find and correct. Pigs might fly.
  19. What might be relevant is how often the car was charged and used on Electric and then the engine fired up. Or just driven on petrol & engine getting to temperature, GPF doing its job. It is a pity there is no indicator of miles / hours engine run, and how many Kw/h or electricity charged in the cars life. OR, maybe there is a way with the car plugged in to have these showing, and get a battery condition check. How many % of battery loss. Hopefully others can comment. Personally i would not touch a 8 year old or so PHEV with someone else's barge pole.
  20. Maybe best in the Octavia section. I will ask a mod to move it. The DSG is a DQ400-e. Requires Oil & Filter services every 40,000 miles. The Engine Oil & Filter service regime is supposed to be fixed. 9,400 miles / 372 days or sooner. Not all get that.
  21. @BabyDog Was there an engineers examination & report for you or from VW / Skoda UK carried out and VW UK accepted this conclusions from that & accepted the rejection, or what happened? Nothing to do with the fuel consumption then, just mandatory features the car had which you did not like, or were there actual faults?
  22. Were the tyre pressures checked after collection & readjusted if needing, and the TPMS reset. Incase still at TRANSIT pressure. Car needs checked that the Transit blocks have been removed from the suspension.
  23. Bump for the OP. @OccyVRS
  24. Almost every VW engine went to 0w 20 FS IV other than the ones that stay recommended as 0w 30 FS III. There are repeated posts since 2018 on the matter. Good oil, maybe better than Castrol / Quantum, not run as much as 1/4 lower than oil capacity, and Super Unleaded E5, sorted. EDIT. Sorry could not link thread. But easy to find.
  25. It might take as many years as the millions that have it functioning and not wearing out. But then over 20 years it might matter how many times a day the car starts off after you or people get in and out of the car. Lets say as a guess maybe OK for another 15 years.
