  1. Look at the leads and see if they are upgraded with armour around them. Especially cylinder 3. Are the Spark plugs all good with the correct gap? Best get it read for Fault Codes and see if there are any logged for mis-fires.
  2. Welcome. Plenty threads on All Season / 3PMSF tyres in the tyre section if that is all you need rather than Winter / Snow tyres.
  3. Maybe have lower priced Skoda & Seat models with more KISS stuff & keep the Style over Function for VW & Audi.
  4. Briskoda Cars for sale might be a good place to advertise a Yeti.
  5. Vorsprung durch technik. Hopefully VW are finally getting them selves sorted out and going for safety.
  6. Did you never check the oil from collecting after the service or in the 4,000 miles? It might well have come back to you low. 0.5 litres of oil added really meant the level was pretty low since you had a Warning Light / Yellow Oil can. If you had added no oil but had opened the bonnet the light would go out anyway for 62 miles / 100km. Best get the oil ap to the top of the Cross Hatch when the engine at operating temp and not run maybe 1 litre less than capacity.
  7. & RR made her budget statement October 2024.
  8. A Sandero is not that cheap now, and a Sandero Stepway is not. I have been looking at Petrol Automatics, new or nearly new,. They are better in and out for me than a Clio. It is a car to replace the Suzuki SX4 i want. Reliable petrol automatic, economic. It might be a Suzuki Swift i get.
  9. Has the car had the Spark Plugs changed at 40,000 miles with it now having done near 44,000 miles?
  10. Insurance prices of EV,s are only going one way. The future might be bright but it is not going to be because of the reducing costs of running an EV for those without Home or Work charging. @lol-lol Have you got good prices on your EV,s insurance, social domestic & business use?
  11. It cost me £60 for 350 miles using public charging these past few days. Still £45 pending from BP Pulse for the £22 it coat me at Edinburgh Airport 36 hours ago. 61 pence a kWh. Other tariffs 65 & 70 pence a kWh. Running a Diesel can be much cheaper. 350 miles & 50 mpg, 7 gallons. x £6.60 = £46.20
  12. @lol-lol Your influence on the actions of any political party or Government is zero though.
  13. 'The Downside'. was / is having to contract to receive less salary / wages. A different contract signed up. Those that can just get by on what they did or do get Gross / Net, they are the ones that are in the Social Divide of those with not only enough income but more than enough that they do not need to have it into their bank every month.
  14. There are those that have no idea what it is like to be working and earning and just keeping their head above water & nit get in debt. They really need to think on about how people are going to put more towards a pension or income after they stop working or are going to get around.
  15. The Government is doing nothing. They have no money. the population and the companies have money the treasury get. The Bill Payers who do pay are paying to write off the debts of those that got the help during covid and still never paid their Energy Utility bills. PS. Yes the Interconnectors are coming down the east coast taking electricity from the Northern Isles, not the Electricity generated on the Mainland. Best England get on with the Small Modular Nuclear plants. Build baby build. Run the Pylons.
  16. ^^^ Great get up the pylons then and use that electricity that comes ashore. Less need to bring it from the Cruden Bay / Peterhead the length of Scotland on the highest pylons while those nearest the generation pay the higher tariffs.
  17. @lol-lol i believe you are totally wrong on the domestic electricity getting cheaper in any of our lifetimes. It is high time that England was producing enough for it's own usage.
  18. Charger and Charging hubs getting connected to the grid was taking weeks and months and still is and in some cases it is now into years. That is Real World & not just in Scotland. Now there are politicians and others saying Scotland has an over provision of Battery Storage and they want any more being passed for planning and built banned. What a bunch of absolute idiots.
  19. Scotland and Councils ending the con of Charge Place Scotland and incompetence should be a good thing. But not when the like of Aberdeen ? Aberdeenshire went to 70 pence a kWh and still faulty and out of service charger. Priced as the Highland Council was . Then there is Perth & Kinross and Angus going their own way and yesterday at Perth Park and ride 7 out of 10 chargers faulty. At least the TESLA Superchargers are there working as they seem to at all the locations. The Free Market away from Charge Place Scotland is pretty much 75 pence a kWh or more if not using TESLA. We are talkng double running an efficient ICE prices.
  20. Truth of the matter in my world. Stirling Park and ride and 4 Rapid chargers and 3 putting out 26kW max and one 11 kW. So i wanted to charge to 98% @ 65 pence a kWh but with 40 minutes max charging time that was out of the question so just charged tried 2 chargers and got over the £2 minimum cost and was £7. On to Girvan and was going to charge for 5 hours AC but again the chargers were just giving out 4 kW max. So i went on the DC 50 kW , only giving 26 kW as well, got 11 kW, £7.70 and this morning the AC,s would not start so on the 50 KW DC again for 59.5 minutes, 29 kWh bought and car just at 97%. 60 minutes max charging here. So bl00dy expensive, a PITA and tomorrow it will be as expensive if not more in Edinburgh in the poring rain and if i want under cover that will be at MFG for their crazy pricing.
  21. The USA has a President that can look after them if needs be. & the EU has Commissioners. The UK has nobody with much say if any on what happens in the EU. So things are what they are.
  22. @BabyDog Re your comment on the DVSA and not hesitating, kicking up a stink etc. Well that must be something very recent because they have spent years ignoring Drivers / Owners conserns like the Loss of Drive with DQ200 DSG,s that VW Group said would do a voluntary recall while outwith the EU / UK there was a global recall. Any court decision in England / Wales or in Scotland might well set a president. In Scotland in the past & in England / Wales VW Group would not go to court they settled out of court and had NDA,s signed. They were not prepared to put employees into court as a defence witness, and also have to reveal statistics on failure rates, warranty claims, settlements etc.
  23. A mod can maybe move to the Fabia Mk2 section where the other post is. ? Did you have the car last winter when cold? What engine does the Fabia have? I take it you have a 7 speed twin clutch DSG, a DQ200. How many miles has the car done? There might well be an issue with the DSG. Or, is it a late registered 1.6 petrol with a Tiptronic Automatic box?
  24. Motability buy them for Cash Money minus VAT. There are Renaults and Nissans with lower Advance Payments. More expensive models, petrol / hybrid. Manufacturers sell Motability cheap the ones they really need shifted, as Ford did last quarter with the Explorer & Capri.
