  1. "… will need to be towed away on a flat bed truck as wheels are also out of place" Not unless they're all supposed to be at right angles to each other How much would this actually cost to get back on the road?
  2. Is your car modded in any way? Adrian Flux are only competitive when it comes to modified cars.
  3. Some more angry BA customers: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/jul/18/british-airways-booking-budget-airline-no-frills-code-sharing https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/jul/17/british-airways-charged-twice-ticket-upgrade-no-refund https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/jul/16/british-airways-overbooked-flight-no-compensation
  4. Looked at another way, how does he know his usual plumber will get back to him within the hour, and he doesn't even know if he's going to be available anyway? Then, how is he supposed to know the second plumber will turn up fours later than expected if there's been no courtesy call to tell him as much? I know from experience this winter that finding a plumber to come out any day, never mind next day, is nigh on impossible, and I also know from experience that plumbers don't always turn up when they say they're going to turn up, leaving me losing a day's holiday and still with a broken boiler, so I can understand the customer's actions. It took 3 weeks from the first visit to get my boiler working again, and this was during the coldest three weeks in December, with two small children to keep warm. So I'd be looking to get it done NOW as well. The difference between me and the other customer is that I wouldn't have given the second plumber a penny. If he says he's going to be there at 8.30 and doesn't turn up until 12.30 without having the decency to phone and let me know, then tough.
  5. Postcode? They wouldn't insure me either despite age, no claims, no accidents, convictions, etc., etc., but they seem to be the only insurer in the UK that doesn't like my postcode. Rubbish IMO.
  6. Just block the number and get on with your life. The third party has nothing to gain by harassing you as the insurance companies have already sorted everything. If they do turn up at your house (which I seriously doubt they will) it becomes a harassment complaint to the police.
  7. Are you sure? £8? Do they know what lowering is? That seems pretty cheap for quite a major modification. Lovely car BTW
  8. He forgot to mention that he was also a Nigerian Prince. How some people fall for these I'll never know
  9. Ah, I didn't realise he was pi55ed – that explains everything. What a Grade A . Idiots like him make my blood boil, even more so now I'm a parent with two precious lives to protect. Just one moment of madness and lives can be destroyed for ever. Glad it's all behind you now though
  10. I couldn't play half of those and then they all disappeared, but what I did see was a massive gap on your right where he could have gone? Was there a reason he didn't duck into that? Seems a bit strange.
  11. Bloody hell She didn't seem too bothered though despite the fact she nearly got knocked sparko
  12. How is it an easy mistake to make? This is bread and butter stuff and if you're going to put an order in to the factory for thousands of pounds worth of car, check and double check, and then check again. It's a total fail on the part of the dealer and they should be bending over backwards to make sure the OP isn't inconvenienced. Plus, the culprit should be losing any bonus he was due and sent on a six-week training course in Tipton. That'll focus the mind
  13. As long as they use Skoda/VAG spec oil and Skoda/VAG OEM parts (oil filter, etc. ) you should not invalidate your warranty. Didn't you get a free servicing plan when you bought new? I think most do.
  14. Just take it for a blast down a motorway once a week. As for driving to work when it's less than a mile, shame on you  But joking aside, the way you're using the car is the quickest way to kill it. The engine and oil won't even get half-way to temperature by the time you finish the journey. You need a 1l n/a petrol engine.
  15. Can you file a claim for the rent in the Small Claims Court? This would at least, possibly, prompt/force them to cough up, and at the very least, inconvenience them. What kind of contract are they on? If it's a 12-month short term tenancy agreement then surely it's nearly finished? You have the deposit? Personally, I'd be tempted to go round and have a polite word, try to reason with them and explain the distress it's causing your parents. Then politely ask them to kitten the kitt off, kittening parasites.
  16. Surely you must have paperwork for the Extended Warranty and Assistance? The original payment receipt should have it itemised. Or the email confirming that Assistance is included? The email should be enough proof.
  17. Get a grip, flip her off, enjoy the rest of your life without the dread of uncertainty It wasn't love, it was infatuation - completely different things. You'll be alright
  18. I had 8 likes in that I'm assuming it turned nasty?
  19. Is the Octavia vRS now as rare as hen's teeth or something? There's no way I'd be accepting this car back – take the full refund and get the hell out of Dodge. Plenty of other Octavias out there.
  20. It was serviced and passed its MOT, anything else is their problem. I'd just stop taking the calls, or if unavoidable, explain you've already put xx hours and £xxs into it over and above normal expectations, and anything else is now up to them. Be polite but firm. I expect you've already been too nice and they're trying it on so it's time for them to get real. Good luck
  21. If I understand the question correctly, you can use anyone for a MOT test.
  22. If you've only just bought the car then the selling garage is responsible for these repairs, unless they were disclosed at the time of sale?
  23. Petrol cars are invariably same tyre pressures all round, whereas diesels are usually higher in the fronts due to the heavier engine lump. In my experience, anyway.
