Don't several of the engines in the Octavia 3 have a water-to-air intercooler? - the 1.4TSi and 1.5TSI do, I believe the other petrol engines do but don't know about the diesel engines.

I think the bonnet mat was only fitted to diesels, I had to add it to my 1.4TSI.

I have ACC on my 1.4 manual Octavia and I have to say it is brilliant, I use it much of the time not only on motorways and dual carriageways but it is a real benefit on the A361 North Devon link road as the traffic speed varies between 40 and 65mph which the ACC handles seamlessly. Given the choice I would always spec ACC now.

Correct, that screen only shows the version of the infotainment system not the software versions of any of the other modules in the car - of which there are many (30 or more in scans on the Ross-Tech website).

It's not a good reason but the reason is dieselgate - VAG have got scared of anything that can permanently change emissions so from around 2019 onward they've made all settings that they think can change emissions return to their default on every startup.

Many have looked, none have found a method yet... Yes, even the later Mk3 Octavia cannot have stop/start disabled.

Skoda (actually VAG) have disabled all the known tweaks that disabled stop/start - because of dieselgate and WLTP issues.

Second both of those - underneath the variofloor we keep all the shopping bags, emergency lights, etc. so the actual boot space is clear and ready for bags of mortar, compost, etc.

Over the last 5 years we've never managed less than 45mpg and usually get 55mpg from our 2015 1.4TSI Elegance estate.

That's where I was thinking but never having used Mirrorlink or Android Auto I didn't want to, in my ignorance, suggest a Mirrorlink incompatibility.

USB sockets provide 5V, which is what dashcams need when connected via USB (the 12V adapters actually output 5V).

That part number is a Bolero - all the links I can find suggest it's a MIB1, so I'm puzzled that Android Auto worked with a previous phone? Maybe others can clarify please?

Early 2015 cars have MIB1 systems that don't support CarPlay or Android Auto, maybe that's the problem? Please post the part number of your system as that will tell exactly what you have in your car. My Octavia was an April 2015 build so has a MIB1 meaning I can't use CarPlay (I have an iPhone 11 Pro).

I doubt it - software development has moved away from "Chinese Wall" testing (an independent test team) to test scripts written by the developers themselves (so with the same wrong assumptions) and to development methods like Agile that do piecemeal changes without taking into account the final end goal.

Some insurers do, some don't - best to check with your insurer.

... and without having a clutch actuator (and probably a gear selector mechanism too as the car might have come to a halt in a high gear) there's no way it can achieve that.

That quote doesn't say anything about bringing the vehicle to a halt; it only mentions pulling away, braking and turning - seems very misleading and confused to me...
