Skoda Octavia 3 5e full autoscan wanted
... as soon as they post a scan we can tell By 'free version of VCDS' do you means VCDS-Lite? As mentioned previously you CAN get some support on the Ross-Tech forum, maybe that's worth you investigating?

Another surprise message
No point on VAG vehicles as the ECU software ignores the accelerator input if the brake pedal is pressed. Why would you? I'm going back a few years (35+) to when I had a Renault 5 GT Turbo, if when approaching a corner I left foot braked while keeping my foot on the accelerator it kept the turbo spooled up so when I came off the brake pedal at the apex there was already turbo boost present so there was no lag and the corner exit was noticeably quicker.

CAYC 1.6tdi - shocking pub chat !
Is it just another example of coincidence being mistaken for cause and effect?

1.4tsi se 4 spoke steering wheel change to 3 spoke
Cruise control is SwaP (Software as a Product) which needs a FEC (Feature Enable Code) to work - and those are VIN specific and can only be generated by workshops with online access to the Skoda servers.

Skoda Octavia 3 5e full autoscan wanted
The lights on the 5E Octavia are controlled by a large number of adaptation channels in the BCM known as the "leuchte" channels - in one of them that relates to the right rear light that is on with ignition you will find the problem. BTW Ross-Tech do offer help for people using VCDS-Lite, so it's definitely worth posting a full Auto-Scan on their forum and asking for help.

kodiaq fault code p1465
Could also mean the connection to the pump is open circuit, so check the connectors and wiring first.

Maybe paranoia on my part - 1.5 TSi clutch judder?
@e-Roottoot It's not the engine management that determines which profile is in use by the engine and transmission (and ACC and ...), it's the BCM - and that firmware is common to all engines and was updated post WLTP/RDE. I agree that the kangaroo effect is specific to the 1.5TSI but I was replying to what @gm73said about the driving mode reverting to normal every time, and that's controlled by the BCM.

Maybe paranoia on my part - 1.5 TSi clutch judder?
Firmware changes that VAG/Skoda made so that cars always revert to the state in which they were type approved - another after effect of Dieselgate.

fault code p1465
Not necessarily, it could just mean that the connection to the pump is open circuit, check the wiring before condemning the pump.

UK based Superskoda alternative?
You can still order from SuperSKoda (now renamed Kopacek) BUT the items must be small enough to be sent by Royal Mail (not a courier) and if the cost is above a certain value then HMRC will charge Import Duty (not sure about VAT as well?). So small relatively low value items can still be ordered as before, and small higher value items will be subject to additional taxation.

Coolant drop to minimum after 4000km
... because the coolant is not being evaporated by the airflow as it's inside a sealed environment, it's the latent heat of vaporisation that causes the temperature drop, so no vaporisation = no cooling.

Octavia 3 RS very loud AC noise
Is one of the dash vents not fully open? That can create turbulence when the fan speed is high which will create noise in the situations you describe.

DRL's on a trailer
There is a coding mod to the Leuchte sets in the BCM that enables the rear sidelights to come on at the same time as the front DRLs.

Just taken delivery...and then found this forum
I prefer to follow the advice of the professional vehicle technicians I worked with at a major automotive consultancy than any internet posts - so for me it will always be negative first (and as a Chartered Electronics Engineer it makes no difference how capacitors discharge when the circuit is broken by disconnecting either battery terminal).

2010 Superb Columbus map in Germany
That means there is no sat nav signal being received, so the people who say it's a GPS aerial problem are spot on IMHO. If it was a map problem then it would show you on a blank background if the GPS aerial was OK. My Amundsen has an option to show how many satellites the GPS is receiving, your Columbus should have that also - I would RTFM and check that before doing anything.

If you've ever watched a video of a spanner being melted by a car battery then you'll never undo the positive terminal first

Cost of new 1.4 TSI water coolant pump fitted?
Even Skoda dealers get it wrong, I had to tell Marshalls Barnstaple that as the water pump is on the other end of the engine on my 2015 1.4 I didn't want the water pump changing when they replaced the cambelt last year.

2014 VRS Infotainment Swap
The MY usually starts when the factory returns from its summer break which is in July - this allows the changeover (and any modifications to the production line) to be done while the line is idle. I had a 2007 MY Audi that was built in June 2006 (and delivered to me in July 2006) - so sometimes they can build new MY cars even earlier.

Electric Oven Efficiency
That's the old 3-phase colours that were changed many years ago - including making black one of the phases as shown in Phil-E's post (L2)!!!

2014 VRS Infotainment Swap
If it was built after around May 2014 then it would have been a 2015 model even though it was registered in 2014. Check the model year digit in the VIN - this is VW details but the model year still applies to Skodas VW VIN codes

Amundsen MIB1 Map Update 2020-2021
The message isn't saying anything about the maps not being found so I don't believe the SD card is the problem, the message seems to suggest that the unit is thinking that navigation isn't enabled which to me suggest an intermittent problem in the glovebox unit itself.

Mk4 Octavia Infotainment System
So 1803 will not be a fix for those with C versions or earlier. IMHO this means that Skoda UK should be paying for the hardware to be updated to the latest E version on those cars.

Cost of new 1.4 TSI water coolant pump fitted?
Why have you asked for a 'belt' to be fitted? Which belt? As you correctly say on the 1.4 the timing belt is on the other end of the engine. If you have had the timing belt replaced according to Skoda UK's recommended 5 years that would have been in 2019 so replacing it again would seem unnecessary IMHO.

2021 F1 Discussion
Baku could be interesting if the suggestions of protests about the flexible rear wings actually happen.
