  1. The incinerator at Westbury has approval, but construction has not yet started, so it seems it will go ahead despite the report yesterday that emissions from incinerators is as high as the now closed coal fired power stations so it's hard to see how these incinerators can be seen as part of the greening of our energy supply system. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp3wxgje5pwo
  2. You need to get a fault code scan done, there are so many reasons why the engine management light can come on so it's really impossible to guess.
  3. Tried doing a quick format on the card to FAT32?
  4. Charging a battery isn't 100% efficient so the energy taken out of the battery by climbing a hill won't be fully replaced by regenerative energy put back when going down the same hill. Charging efficiency of a LiIon battery is typically 95-97%, much better than a lead acid battery which is closer to 80%.
  5. Specifically the Amundsen will only read sat nav maps off a Skoda or VAG SD card.
  6. Please don't misrepresent what others are saying, maybe you need to look in a mirror?
  7. None of those say NO infrastructure but point out that the infrastructure is NOT consistent throughout the nations and regions.
  8. Interesting, but it's north Devon I drive to so Exeter is off route. It 'amuses' me that, as Ootohere has mentioned in an earlier post, some people seem to try to expand their regional experience to the whole country - the simple fact is that public infrastructure coverage is NOT consistent throughout the whole of England, Scotland and Wales so people's experiences of the coverage will vary and it's pointless, some would say stupid, to maintain that just because one person sees good or bad coverage that will apply to all 60+ million of us.
  9. As I said there are several, so here's a link to a search that currently shows 235 results! https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3519243.m570.l1313&_nkw=skoda+sd+card&_sacat=0
  10. That's not my experience where I drive in the South and South West, I have yet to see a charging hub on a major route without queues of EVs waiting to charge.
  11. That's the problem, the Amundsen REQUIRES a Skoda (in fact any VAG branded) SD card as it has a special embedded code that isn't present on a 'normal' SD card. Skoda SD cards are available on a well known auction site at prices well below the official dealer price, I've boight all my Skoda SD cards from there!
  12. BUt one of the reasons given by potential EV buyers for NOT buying an EV is the limited public charging network causing them "range anxiety", some people have even traded in the EV they had bought due to lack of charging infrastructure. Seems we're in a chicken and egg situation - where the public charging network won't be expanded until there is increased demand but there won't be increased demand because of the perception of limited public charging network. Someone needs to break this vicious circle...
  13. It is possible to setup WMP to do the ripping correctly, I've been using WMP since 2005 to rip CDs to SD card for use in my VAG vehicles (Audi S4, Audi RS4, Octavia 3 Elegance & Octavia 3 L&K).
  14. I've had rear wipers on every VAG car I've owned since 1999 and only had one failure when water from the washer jet leaked into the motor - this was when the car was 9 years old.
  15. I just use Windows Media Player to rip from CD to HDD and then mp3tag to add album art to every file. Then I just copy the whole artist/album folder structure from HDD to the SD card.
  16. If the battery is the same type (EFB or AGM) and substantially the same Ah capacity then all you need to do is change one digit of the battery serial number in the BMS module.
  17. When you consider that the Octavia IV has been on sale for 4 years, and the facelift version is already available to order, then if true that is outrageous.
  18. Best place to ask that is the forum for a 2021 Superb https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/299-skoda-superb-mk-iii-2015-2023/
  19. Find a delaer who has a modicum of product knowledge, as that's just not true.
  20. If that's a script then it depends if you trust the script. Personally I prefer to make the changes manually. If the battery is the same type and the same Ah capacity then in reality all you need to change is one digit of the serial number.
  21. Looks like a problem with a rear parking sensor, I think you need a fault code scan to identify the details of the problem.
  22. This is exactly how all the music on the SD card I use in my Amundsen MIB2 is formatted.
  23. @TimGoddard Given that it's clear you have a Mk3 Octavia, it would be far better to continue this discussion in the Mk3 Octavia forum where fellow owners can better hellp you. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/235-skoda-octavia-mk-iii-2013-2020/
  24. That's not going to disconnect the module from the CAN bus and it might remove power from other components too so I wouldn't recommend it.
