    Followed @langers2k post dated 04/11/2016 on page 1 of this thread. I could not change the bit as it wasn't saving but I eventually realised if I changed a tick box and changed it back again without saving the change, I could then change the byte 16 bit 1 manually as required and save that change. You will also need an instrument cluster with software that supports the TPMS in the maxidot.

    @langers2k Then further on you write:- The question I have is:- How do I that manually? I have the same problem @jtdesign had, it won't save in the maxidot. I know I have a 2010 car but I have a later instrument cluster with the latest software installed, so I can activate the maxidot resetting. (Eddie-NL did that for me.) Thanks in anticipation, Kev.

  9. Not exactly. The brake pad sensor is part of the brake pad. It is as simple as a wire the runs in and out of the brake pad that once broken lights the dashboard warning light. @Nicku196 Can you see a circuit board where the component has snapped? From what I can tell there would have been 8 screws originally. But it appears the wiring enters and exits at the same point. Maybe If you can access the circuit board that may give some identification. I had a look at the manual for a Scout MK2 but can't see anything for the bumper that resembles that part.
  10. This must be wiring between the drivers door and the body of the car. There is a rubber gaitor that covers the wires. Peel the gaitor back and check the wiring. Because of the dual switch in the drivers door power goes to that switch then out again to the passenger side switch. Intermittent then complete failure by reasoning it has got to be the wiring at the point where the wiring is flexed every time the door is opened and closed. Kev.
  11. @Alasdair1 I think @kiktaspiskis is European. 50 Euro's was the dealer quote. Without getting wayward on this topic, the other point I would like to make is the website works. It works to an extent that the whole reason for the pin in the first place has become obsolete.
  12. As your reposting the link I posted earlier - the cost was £10.00. That was June 2024. You need the serial number form the head unit. It took minutes to sort.

  14. I used https://decodemyradio.co.uk/skoda-radio-codes/ when I needed my radio code. I think it cost a tenner. It was the right code so can't complain. Kev.

  16. The Estate and Hatchback both use the same floor plan. There is more space in the boot of an Estate only in height.
  17. "Hydrometer" - used for measuring density of liquids the specific gravity. You could also use a "Refractometer". Does the same thing but by differently.

  19. Not strickly true. It depends on the LED and the circuit. However I do agree, ensure the vehicle interior is completely dried out and free of any condensation before appying a fix. If the OP can, take the instrument cluster out and store it somewhere dry and humidity free for a day or two. On top of a desktop computer/server would be my best option but an airing cuboard or some place like that would do.
  20. No. The replacement would need coding with the mileage and the immobiliser code otherwise the car will not start. LED replacement is cheaper.

  22. Not being a mechanic I don't know much of these things but the very small "tin pot" vehicle repair garage behind my wifes business dug out an inspection pit. Is that a reasonable alternative? Maybe @J.R. could comment.
  23. No idea. I have a 350GB HDD connected to the MDI and play mp3 files from that.
  24. Brake fluid change - I think every 4 years. Check/Change coolant Aircon recharge - Every 2 years Oil filter replace - When doing the oil change. Cabin filter Car alarm replace - I think every 7 years. Serpentine belt - If you have one. If not in the UK then an annual MOT style check.
  25. It would be a good idea to state what engine you have. Some car history would also be a good idea, mileage, servicing how long the problem has occured, when it first appeared. How long have you owned the car. Kev. Edit:- Also forgot to say - Have you carried out any diagnostics such as with VCDS.
