Turn off alarm for off car battery charging
Probably not if all doors unlocking is set. How would you lock the passenger doors with a key being used in the drivers door (and lock the boot)? Unlock the car with the keyfob. Pull the bonnet release latch. Lock the car with the keyfob. Remove the battery. Close the bonnet. Car is now fully locked. To unlock. Use the key in the drivers door to open the deadlock. Pull the bonnet release latch. Replace the battery. All good again.

Driver’s Door Not Detecting Open - Microswitch or Latch?
That was my experience. The way the car is parked it is the drivers door that gets the most sunlight. That is along the lines of what I have been thinking. Thanks @pikpilot Kev.

Driver’s Door Not Detecting Open - Microswitch or Latch?
I have the same problem. However it is very intermittent. After my last post in the above thread it was back to normal the next day. The issue did not then arise again until the end of September as verified by VCDS. I missed the actual occurance but a VCDS scan notified me it had happened. For the most part the issue occurs rarely. I havn't updated the thread I started because... I've done nothing since then. As stated the fault is very intermittent. I am certain it's the microswitch. That being said I did look into a fix in late September. On some research the MKI Octavia's have a sticky here:- https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/126257-octavia-1-replacing-door-latch-microswitch/ Not a problem for a MKI. Further research say's that the MKII's have an inner steel door panel riveted to the door behind the door card that would need the rivets drilling out to access the door control module and the said microswitch. And it would need riveting back in place once a fix has been applied. There is also a possability the window winder mechanism is attached to this inner door panel. I don't know for certain as youtube is letting me down (again). For a squirt of WD40 in the right place it is a job for next spring in my case. In answer to your questions. Question 1. Don't know. Probably. Question 2. I am confident yes. Just a clean may do it. Question 3. No. You go first and post some pictures. I would be most very grateful.😊 Sorry I can't be more helpful, it is what it is. Kev. P.S. I went to church coz it was the general election that day.

Scout 2.0tdi non start and no lights on cluster
For what it's worth, there is a research paper "Cyber-Security Internals of a Skoda Octavia vRS: A Hands on Approach" with a Skoda CANbus Overview here:- https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Skoda-CANbus-Overview_fig1_336068161 Whilst it won't fix the car it does give some background on how the modules are related. Scout 2.0tdi non start and no lights on cluster
FFS. "The car won't start. There are no ignition lights" These are the symptons. Not the problem. I personally would not have wasted money on getting an auto-electrician checking the cluster as it has already been proven to be working. You seem to be blind to accepting the "clocks" are fine. From my own research it appears that because of faulty wiring or a faulty module the immobiliser is being activated. Hence no ignition lights and the car wont start. I posted the scan in the diagnostics forum and there has been replies. You need to start understanding those replies. As @langers2k wrote in the first reply (to the scan), I would check the can-gateway wiring and also the module itself. See here for the location:- https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/505653-canbus-gateway-location/ It does seem to be the most logical place to start. If that does not solve the no start problem then I would check the wiring to/from these modules and also the connectors as has been suggested by other forum members. Engine ABS AWD (All Wheel Drive) Steering Assist The engine module is in the scuttle panel, below the windscreen wipers. It's a silver box. For the locations of the others you will have to do some research. Or ideally get the auto-electrician back and get them to do the work. Kev.

Replacing Glow Plugs - DIY?
Hello, I too have owned my car since new. However, as mine is petrol I am not the best person to respond so whilst waiting for an expert's reply here are my thoughts. Youtube. Having watched a few video's it does not seem to be a difficult job. Just use the right tools. If it were me I'd order a set of long nose pliers such as these:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405058831352 Have a look. This youtube video shows glow plug replacement on an engine without a sensor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCAHksR-3sA Now if you watch this video where there is a glow plug sensor:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIWgWoYzWz8 It can be seen that upon removing the glow plug "caps" by peering down into the socket that the glow plug with a sensor is different from the other three. As I have recently found out if you use the VIN number of your vehicle on Autodoc's parts website it will give you the part numbers relevant to your vehicle. Other members on here may also offer that service if you post the VIN number. Hope the above helps for now. Kev.

I've seen @flynndog today and completed a VCDS scan. The scan has been posted in the diagnostics sub forum here:- https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/527075-vcds-scan-whats-the-diagnosis/ Personally, I am not proficient enough with VCDS to be certain of any diagnosis. Hopefully, someone better than me can draw a conclusion. Clearly, it's not just some damp LED's. Kev.

VCDS Scan - What's The Diagnosis
Hi, I have today scanned a forum members Skoda Octavia Scout as per this thread:- https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/526972-scout-20tdi-non-start-and-no-lights-on-cluster/ The car won't start. There are no ignition lights. Battery is charged. Could someone better than me interpret the scan and identify the fault that needs rectifying. 2011 Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI - Where is the fuel pump relay?
@ggpowell2 To be clear I am not an expert on these things. Like you I only realised a FPC existed on Thursday evening through reading the questions on here. As far as I am aware the letter is a revision number and could simply indicate which factory made the FPC. I have replaced parts on my car with later revision letters in the past without issue. In fact I look for the latest revisions when sourcing parts. Have you checked the fuse? It's a 15amp fuse in the cabin fusebox. Is there power to the FPC? Also, did you slide the red tab down again to lock the FPC? If the FPC had failed, then the only fuel to start the car would be in the fuel lines. Once this is gone the car won't start until the FPC failure is rectified. Where did you get the replacement FPC so quickly? Could it also be a bad part? You might also want to read @icarusi@hotmail updated thread I linked to above. Kev.

Have you had a diagnostics scan done? Could I read your dissertation? Has it been published? Looking at lights on the instrument cluster is not conducting diagnostics. I agree with @pikpilot "I doubt that the ECU has failed." Kev.

No power to Fuel Pump Controller on 2009 1.4 TSI
The fuse card is "a known thing". Welcome to the club.😊 I made up a PDF with all the fuse details and which fuse slots are populated so I know for the future. Good luck and glad it's fixed now.

Scout 2.0tdi non start and no lights on cluster
If you PM an address and telephone I could pop over Sunday afternoon. I need to some mileage on my car, bought it new and still only done 44521 miles in it. I can put VCDS on the car and at least get a list of all the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's). If I put the scan on here then others could at least see everything that is an issue. Kev.

No power to Fuel Pump Controller on 2009 1.4 TSI
I had a look at my car today to see if it had a FPC, it does. Yes there does appear to be permanent power to the FPC with the engine off and key out of the ignition. So I expect the fault to be further forward on the power cable. Sorry, I forgot to note the colour of the power cable.

2011 Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI - Where is the fuel pump relay?
I had a quick look at my car today. It too has a FPC. Yes the 15amp fuse does control it. I suspect it does throw the relay error as ebay listings also refer to it as a relay. Simply lift forward the back seat behind the drivers seat and lift the flap. The FPC lifts out of that slot. If you pop off the round cover there is access to the other connection. Lift the red tab and it slides off. No tools required. Replacement from ebay. £18.99 for eBay item number:166876102990. But a quick search shows up loads. VAG part number 1K0 906 093. Kev.

Where in West Yorks are you. I've got VCDS so can read fault codes and have messed about quite a bit with clusters, I'm just not in @Eddie-NL 's league. Cheers, Kev.

TBH I don't know. I contacted @Eddie-NL via PM through this forum. Problem is he rarely logs in nowadays. He does have an Ebay site edward1975. I had to have my cluster replaced as it was beyond repair. As @Golf-Fiend said above using an online repair service probably is the cheapest option. If it was only LED's I'd have offered to do it.

Copied from somewhere to a text file by me (probably Briskoda). If you do fit one, you'll also need the immobiliser reprogramming and the milage correcting on a second hand clusters - Ed is your man for this but quite a distance from Newcastle From UK petrol models I think the full part numbers are as follows but you should check before committing to buy. SW: 01xx 1Z0920943B non-vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943D) 1Z0920943C vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943D) SW: 03xx 1Z0920943F non-vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943G) 1Z0920943H vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943J) SW: 04xx 1Z0920943K non-vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943M) 1Z0920943L vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943N) SW: 06xx 1Z0920943Q non-vRS) (Diesel version is 1Z0920943S) 1Z0920943R vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943T) Just to add a little more information about SW versions. 01xx - Doesn't support premium bluetooth icons, so you end up with empty squares instead of icons when used be newer bluetooth modules, not updatable. 03xx - Is a version I know little about, not seen any reports it can be updated. May or may not support premium BT icons. 04xx - Can be updated to 06xx using the correct tools (it looses the needle configuration during the upgrade which needs restoring). I believe it should support premium BT icons. 06xx - Latest version is 0608 which supports PLA2.0, direct TPMS, refuel volume etc.

Scout 2.0tdi non start and no lights on cluster
The instrument cluster cannot be coded in using VCDS unless it's a brand new cluster in a virgin state. The cluster needs to be coded to the immobiliser with the code being read from the old cluster. I had my instrument cluster replaced. I had to take the replacement cluster and car from here in Leeds to @Eddie-NL in Norwich as he was the only person on the planet who seemed to know how to do it. He had some special kit that can clone the old cluster to the replacement. Kev.

2011 Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI - Where is the fuel pump relay?
@icarusi@hotmail Posted a fuel pump question on the 17 September. No power to Fuel Pump Controller on 2009 1.4 TSI https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/526608-no-power-to-fuel-pump-controller-on-2009-14-tsi/ In @icarusi@hotmail question they have written:- "I had a look for circuit diagrams, but the one I found for 2009 was showing an FPR rather than a FPC" If FPC means Fuel Pump Controller and FPR means Fuel Pump Relay then I strongley suspect that like @icarusi@hotmail you too have a fuel pump controller. Where that is I don't know, maybe @icarusi@hotmail can advise. Kev.
