  1. Hi @JamezF Keep me updated as at some point I will be dissembling the drivers door. Do you have the link to this manual you can share. Thanks, Kev.
  2. Not being a mechanic I don't know much of these things but the very small "tin pot" vehicle repair garage behind my wifes business dug out an inspection pit. Is that a reasonable alternative? Maybe @J.R. could comment.
  3. No idea. I have a 350GB HDD connected to the MDI and play mp3 files from that.
  4. Brake fluid change - I think every 4 years. Check/Change coolant Aircon recharge - Every 2 years Oil filter replace - When doing the oil change. Cabin filter Car alarm replace - I think every 7 years. Serpentine belt - If you have one. If not in the UK then an annual MOT style check.
  5. It would be a good idea to state what engine you have. Some car history would also be a good idea, mileage, servicing how long the problem has occured, when it first appeared. How long have you owned the car. Kev. Edit:- Also forgot to say - Have you carried out any diagnostics such as with VCDS.
  6. It's already been replaced. How do I know? There's a project thread here:- Kev.
  7. Are you from the future?😄
  8. The Laurin + Klement all came with the maxidot as standard. So yes it will have a maxidot.
  9. Yes It is instant. I know your question does not involve MOTs but my son was able to advise my car passed it's MOT before I collected the car within half an hour of the test centre phoning me by using an app on his phone. The V5C is not proof of onership anyway. It just names the person responsible for taxing the vehicle. Insurance wise, the insurance companies deal with this all day long. They will take your money. Lastly, I should wait for others to confirm (or refute) what i have said.
  10. Is there an AUX socket in the armrest? If so I would take power from the cigarette lighter socket and use the aux in socket in the armrest by changing the connections on the bluetooth dongle to: Ebay 12V Male Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Plug Ebay 3.5MM jack Male Female Audio Cable Aux connector That way it can be unpluged and kept for later use.
  11. Heated seats and the telephone module is bolted to the floor under the plastic cover below the drivers seat.
  12. To wind me up apparently. It's the one add on I desire the most. When new they cars did come with a plastic accessory lighter blanking plug in the socket unless the "Smokers Pack" add on was ordered as an upgrade. Engine wise, there are a lot of scare stories. But also it's a desired good engine when looked after. Good quality engine oil is your friend (so I've read). I am going to upgrade the timing chain tensioner that is an issue on the second generation EA888 engines next spring. ~£30 for the part. I have already bought the timing chain tool kit. Good luck with the MOT and report back please. Kev.
  13. The mechanic is correct. My car has been like this since it left the factory. I suspect that now the brakes have been bled you have only just noticed this happening. When the car is in motion the brakes operate correctly but at a standstill there is extra travel if you apply more pressure to the pedal. As this is a thing you never normally do you have never noticed before. Take the car out on a quiet road and perform an emergency stop checking no one is behind you before hand. All should be well. The other thing to check is with the engine stopped the pedal should be rock solid when pressed and no travel. Kev.
  14. @SuperbTWM Sorry.... I didn't ask. How are you finding your new jack? Also, Machine Mart Leeds has become my new favorite shop. Very friendly staff who are willing to accomodate me with my questions.
  15. Whats the lift height? The one I ordered was delivered today with an extended lift height of 535mm and not the standard lift height 465mm that I suspect is the varient that both @J.R. and @StevesTruck must have purchased when they have mentioned that my purchase is available cheaper elsewhere.
  16. Skoda Fabia II Relay Removal.pdf PDF with all the required pages 113, 132, 133 and page 136.
  17. https://cardiagn.com/2007-2014-fabia-electrical-system/ Scroll to page 136. I think this is what you are looking for.
  18. Could a broken bolt extractor set get the stuck bit of the bolt out? I've never tried doing it but I have seen such tool kits. It's got to be cheaper than £5.5k.
  19. I got mine from Machine Mart, only £5.99 but they don't appear to have it at that price anymore. Ebay or Amazon do them cheap.
  20. SGS have any early black Friday sale on at the moment so I just ordered this https://www.sgs-engineering.com/tj3lp-low-profile-garage-trolley-jack Its a high lift one to 535mm (half a meter). Free next day delivery as well although I wont be using it until next spring. There's also a 2 tonne one with four axle stands for £64 which i didn't thing was expensive. I have had the SGS jack on my wants list for a while as I don't trust the ebay jack I bought earlier in the year. I scares me when just trying to place the axle stand in place, so not quite the impulse purchase. Kev.
  21. What about using a windscreen wiper removal tool? That's what I used on the front wipers on my car.
  22. It calls the US presidential election. Press it! Or Don't! It depends...
  23. No reset available. It's just the two wires. If the two ends make contact the light comes on, if the ends are insulated from each other, no light. I don't know about in Romania but here in the UK I would suggest buying a replacement plug (part number 1J0973802) off Ebay such as https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395849508693 that comes as a kit to assemble. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356136378067 that is delivered pre-wired. If you buy the kit to assemble the old connector can be removed by crushing it into pieces so the two wires are exposed with the two pins still attached. Then the two pins can be inserted into the replacement plug together with the other components. This is what I did when I replaced my car's disk's and pads. Hope that helps, Kev.
