  1. The app is useless full stop, mate!
  2. Check the door drains. Is there any sign of water in the boot? Also, you should have the AC on all the time. Generally, you have colder weather with more moisture in the air up there and AC removes the moisture from the air in the cabin; it’s not just to reduce temperature.
  3. Wow - use ‘em all winter! I have mine on 3 when needed. The only time I can hear the fans really operating - and this is odd - is when I pull away, as it seems to be connected to the vehicle speed somehow, as it seems to boost the fan speed as the revs rise.
  4. It also depends on the station you’re listening to. I get very few issues with all the BBC stations, but if it loses reception it automatically switches over to FM. The only aggravation i have is the lllllloooooooonnnnnnng tiiiiiiiimmmmmmme it takes to bloody boot up! 😂
  5. Fantastic @bigjohn! Thank you for the pics. 👍🏻
  6. I’ve been using a dashcam for 11 years and I can categorically say it has had a positive impact, on my driving style. Having a camera in your car cuts both way, because it records everything you do in terms of speed, braking and risk. Fitting the rear camera is for exactly the reason @Matchman55 points out.
  7. Yes bigjohn, that really does, thank you. 👍🏻
  8. @nicknorman It’s the usual cr@p Skoda dealers spout to try and avoid warranty claims, so blame the owner for cleaning a car with this, that and the other for damaged trim, bodywork and wheel discolouration. Alloys get worm because the layer of lacquer is so thin and it fails to get complete coverage; they need at least three coats. Bright trim obviously suffers similar issues. Whilst I’d accept that “hand car wash” sheds might use really poor products, good retail Snow foam is PH neutral and would never cause that type of fogging of the trim and it certainly does not strip LSP or coatings.
  9. I’ve just bought one of these and now I’d to find out if anyone has any advice on fitting the darn thing! 😂 I already have a hardwired Nextbase dashcam. Any advice, pitfalls or guides most welcome. I have done a search and found a couple for an estate but not a hatchback.
  10. Oct 20 to Mar 21 and April 21 on Y'know....Google is an amazing tool.
  11. Well, in my case, the bottom of the cartridge is resting on top of the level probes, not falling below them, so the ends of the probes are not rubbing against the side of the (very tough) membrane of the cartridge.
  12. Shove one of those Silikat cartridges in the tank - that’ll keep the cr@p at bay in the meantime.
  13. Unfortunately, I don’t think that would make much of a difference to tyre roar, except by having less rubber on the road, but changing the tyres will. The tread on the Conti All Season are far more pliable and sidewalls are softer and fatter than the OE P7’s and both these contribute to the lower level of noise.
  14. I don’t know if that’s normal or not, but it doesn’t look like that’d be normal. I hope water hasn’t entered the headlamp itself and caused damage and thereby the issue, primarily because I understand the replacement cost of the headlamp unit is absolutely horrific.
  15. I wouldn’t be buying anything from them anytime soon. I’d be moving the order to another dealer - recommended on here, if there are any of course - and tell the current dealer the reason why.
  16. Much better. 👍🏻 Anyone know if they’re a member here?
  17. ….. but the tyre make and type does make a huge difference to the amount of noise in the cabin. P7’s were unbelievably noisy; the Conti All Season are much quieter.
  18. The interesting part about all this is I was told, by SUK, in June 2020 that warranty decisions are the responsibility of the dealer, which I take to mean dealer warranty decisions are audited after the event by the warranty team at MK and if they deem it was fair, they’ll pay the dealer for the parts and labour. We had a similar situation in car rental, whereby we had dealer warranty status and could therefore authorise warranty decisions and then claims from the manufacturer. I can only think this is why there is a reluctance to authorise claims were they think there is the slightest possibility of it being rejected.
  19. That is terrible! How can the VC not have a decent transparent protection screen?
  20. Yeah, but it’s a Frankinperb, Colin, so it don’t count…😂
  21. Welcome to the 280 Club, leolito.👍🏻
  22. Ours is an April ‘16 car and it doesn’t have a build sticker.
  23. £67….? To replace the pollen filter…..? It literally took idiot me ten minutes, start to finish, including finishing me tea, unwrapping the very expensive Mann Clinkerstomdisinfectonstafuntenfart filter, walking to the car, contorting myself in the footwell and walking to from the car in the garden! They cannot pay more than £4 trade for the standard filter (on the basis we used to get 68% on filters) so that works out to an hourly labour rate of….. drum roll….. a mere £378!!
