  1. Frankly, I’d doubt you’d hear negative “things” about the diesel engines either. Where are you based? What sort of details would you like to know about the 280 unit?
  2. Try turning off the auto hold brake. EDIT… Whoops… I now see that’s already been suggested… 🙄
  3. Generally, I’ve found it’s about 3” or so but it can get fooled if the car behind has parked a foot or so from the kirb.
  4. …..but I agree, the lane assist feature is pretty pointless and I never use it.
  5. I used the parallel park feature again today. It’s great. Just saying’….😁
  6. I’ve just replaced all four tyres on my wife’s 2003 Focus. I wanted to fit all seasons and given its a 3 mile round trip a day, we decided some Budget tyres would be fine and had Rotalla Setula AllSeason fitted at our local Halfords. Total cost was £222 and I have to say, I’m really, really impressed. They’re quiet and grip really well in the wet and dry. Maybe worth a look @barnsleyboy?
  7. Had mine changed on Saturday. The Indy uses Mobil Longlife 5W-30.
  8. I think the word bullsh1te comes to mind, given Skoda couldn’t build vehicles without the said unit. I would be calling and emailing Matthew Bowden at Skoda U.K. as he is the main Director there. Do you own, have a PCP or have the car on another form of finance? Oddly, you have greater power if it’s on finance.
  9. Had an oil change on Saturday at Wheelbase in Hersham. Great service as usual.
  10. A-ma-zing!! Yet more respect for you, AS! 👍🏻 (you lunatic!).
  11. I don’t think so, because I think if you look closely at them, all the buttons are different shapes, designed specifically for that position.
  12. Who did you use Awesam?
  13. My insurance through Sterling, which is part of Adrian Knott, more than doubled in June 23. it increased from £267 to £590. Thought s0d that so I got it to £390 through Chris Knott, a Briskoda sponsor, so a mere 32% increase. Yep ripped-off in the U.K. once again.
  14. On our 2016 car, the flaps open about 15 seconds after starting from cold and seem to remain open when idling. What happens after that I honestly don’t know. As Kete said, whether they’re open or closed, the interior noise seems to be the same.
  15. No idea if it’ll fit, so where’s the car park? 😂 Seriously, someone will be along who’ll confirm!
  16. 523bhp?? 😳Holy Feckin’ Feck!!
  17. During lockdown, I kept the battery on trickle on my CTEK charger. I’m sure that helped with the longevity. Anyway, I’d get it changed-over ASAP. Of course, one can just get a duff one; yours might be one of ‘em.
  18. WTF?? Yeah that’s crape, Colin….😳
  19. Sometimes major units fail; they just do. The differential and gearbox were replaced under warranty on my first Skoda, a 2001 Octavia 1.6 Ambiante. It had 24k. I had a courtesy car for a month. They replaced the diff first because they thought that was the cause of the whine; it wasn’t, so they replaced the gearbox which fixed the issue. When they’re unsure what the cause of an issue is, It’s normal to first replace the cheapest associated unit which could be the cause.
  20. Put Conti AllSeason on in December 23. Such an improvement on the OE Pirelli P7’s in the dry and wet and, of course, in snow. They’ve covered about 6k and have no perceptible wear.
  21. I’m so sorry, Nick. Been there and 17 years on I still very occasionally think “I need to tell Mum about…..oh dammit”.
  22. New battery needed methinks. Same issues you’ve had and then needed jumping twice, but finally it went kaput. Replaced the OE MOLL EFB with a Varta AGM. Bloody annoying Colin but it’s done pretty well.
  23. Quiet here, innit….? 😴
