Loving the range on a full tank
With circa 320 bhp, I get around 21-23mpg on a very short commute and around 36 on a decent run. I’d imagine if it were a 320bhp V8, I'd guess it’d be closer to 10-12mpg, so no complaints here.

Fuel reserve
Hmmmm… a lack of refuelling may’ve been an excuse in the early 20th century, before the introduction of the fuel gauge and before ‘000’s of petrol stations were available, but not in the 21st century.

Noise moving the steering - Official dealer estimated 3k€ repair
Just a little bit??? Perhaps you should have mentioned this somewhat important fact at the start of the thread?

Fuel reserve
According to a friend who’s an RAC Tech, in their experience, the vast majority of those idiot drivers who run out of fuel, are men.

Drivers door handle - Issue
Mine did this a couple of times when the door was frozen shut. I opened it from the inside as per the OP. It resolved itself once the door unfroze and it’s never done it since

They are a brilliant idea. I use them all the time..

Skoda Superb Mk III, DSG problems
Sheesh. PHEV or not; that is bloody dangerous and nothing to do with the model type. It’ll probably turn out to be a £50 selector switch, a weak spring or a failed notwhat.

Kufatec Sound Booster Extended on a Superb 280/206
It’s the potential leak of fumes inside the car I’d be concerned about.

SUPERB 3 2.0TSI
Thanks.. The most common issue that I know of on the EA888 engine is the failure of the water pump/thermostat housing, causing it to leak, resulting in coolant loss. I had mine replaced a couple of years ago. It’s an expensive job, between €800/1000. Other than that, AFAIK these engines are very reliable and very, very tuneable, to beyond 500bhp.

SUPERB 3 2.0TSI
Frankly, I’d doubt you’d hear negative “things” about the diesel engines either. Where are you based? What sort of details would you like to know about the 280 unit?

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Try turning off the auto hold brake. EDIT… Whoops… I now see that’s already been suggested… 🙄

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Generally, I’ve found it’s about 3” or so but it can get fooled if the car behind has parked a foot or so from the kirb.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
…..but I agree, the lane assist feature is pretty pointless and I never use it.

Replacement tyre recommendations.
I’ve just replaced all four tyres on my wife’s 2003 Focus. I wanted to fit all seasons and given its a 3 mile round trip a day, we decided some Budget tyres would be fine and had Rotalla Setula AllSeason fitted at our local Halfords. Total cost was £222 and I have to say, I’m really, really impressed. They’re quiet and grip really well in the wet and dry. Maybe worth a look @barnsleyboy?

Had mine changed on Saturday. The Indy uses Mobil Longlife 5W-30.

I think the word bullsh1te comes to mind, given Skoda couldn’t build vehicles without the said unit. I would be calling and emailing Matthew Bowden at Skoda U.K. as he is the main Director there. Do you own, have a PCP or have the car on another form of finance? Oddly, you have greater power if it’s on finance.

Had an oil change on Saturday at Wheelbase in Hersham. Great service as usual.

Retrofit exhaust valve from 280ps model
I don’t think so, because I think if you look closely at them, all the buttons are different shapes, designed specifically for that position.

The 280PS Thread
My insurance through Sterling, which is part of Adrian Knott, more than doubled in June 23. it increased from £267 to £590. Thought s0d that so I got it to £390 through Chris Knott, a Briskoda sponsor, so a mere 32% increase. Yep ripped-off in the U.K. once again.

Retrofit exhaust valve from 280ps model
On our 2016 car, the flaps open about 15 seconds after starting from cold and seem to remain open when idling. What happens after that I honestly don’t know. As Kete said, whether they’re open or closed, the interior noise seems to be the same.
