  1. Have you tested the interior lights with headlight switch in other positions? Has the car got any warranty left? You may also want to scan the car with VCDS/VCP? And lastly, I think the interior lights come on regardless of how much ambient light the sensor is seeing, day or night.
  2. Octavia IV's are not renowned for their great infotainment software, plenty of threads on here. "Lake assist" sounds a good feature (yes a joke, Lane assist it is) Normally you should be able to specify in the infotainment the unit's of measurement, but again with potentially buggy software, that could be missing or not sticking when set.
  3. You should be able to edit the service interval and set new time/distance values with VCDS. It should be in 17 - Instrument Cluster the adjustments, don't rush and values are in kilometres. I do believe there should be a sensor, but I am sure someone will say for sure.
  4. Odds are they made a mistake in the reset of the oil change done last time. They maybe changed to a fixed service interval on diagnostic equipment, despite I assume you still being on a long life regime.
  5. Without proof, they cannot replace as the dealer would be charged back for doing work without proof (fault code or other evidence) A video of the fault in action would be good, but it's very transient. @thebert Out of curiosity, could you try to locate your current Software Train loaded? Hold Menu key down a few seconds to enter the menu. It seems like a temporary break in power potentially, but perhaps not long enough to put on a fault code?
  6. I can PM a link in a few moments to you. Country NL?
  7. New version is 0480 Benefits should be fixing errors, but there is no direct change log.
  8. Time to check the fuses for a start then, rule that out at least to begin?
  9. Is there anything specific to your radio you need, do you know which one your car has fitted? Swing Bolero Amundsen
  10. If they are LED lights, then should be "sealed" apart from a small breather tube for moisture potentially. Odds are you won't get the pesky insect out (at least not easily) Heating unit, prise apart while glue is hot and get it out, and reseal quick might just do it perhaps?
  11. I suspect you probably now have USB-C connection for your music, and SD Cards are being dropped by car manufacturers. The alternative is Android Auto / Apple carplay where you "share" your screen or "cast" whatever the term is your phone's interface onto the radio, and you play music on your phone and it comes through speakers. Hardcopy manuals are being phased out, as once printed... any alterations will not be reflected of course, whereas online they can alter the infomation easily and edit/adjust as needed. Welcome by the way.
  12. It has 2 fault code location's In the steering column control unit (diagnosis address 0016) the following event entry (sporadic/static) is logged: • B116229 - switch for selector lever locked in P, implausible signal or In the onboard supply control unit (address code 0009) the following event entry (sporadic/static) is logged: • B116229 - switch for selector lever locked in P, implausible signal I will post a link here in a moment to the TPI document I posted yesterday. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/505730-weird-error-message-only-leave-vehicle-in-position-p/?do=findComment&comment=5683796
  13. If it don't work you normally see a large yellow ! in the graphic. With engine off, ignition on and reverse selected, you can get someone to walk around rear with cardboard or themselves to check each sensor. As mentioned above, quite close, graphics on screen should change line colours to amber / red if I remember.
  14. Disappeared as in they are deactivated, or the entire list is now invisible? Have you noticed a feature missing?
  15. Yes from a technical point of view for a correct loom.
  16. It fits with he said the fuel pump screeched I think yesterday, either that's gone down the swanny, or his fuel guage is shot and he has empty tank perhaps now?
  17. Your Pins 1 & 2 look back to front compared to the wiring diagrams? If sensor doesn't work or gives weird reading/faults, then this will be why
  18. My brain power is very low this evening 🤣 What's the current status of your car now? And I can see the colours now.
  19. Plenty of posts in forum, iirc most fit Panasonic? Time for a little search on the site.
  20. It will most likely be left over cleaner or water hardness (limescale and other disolved minerals) Pretty sure that's gonna be permanent 🤔
