  1. @Lutz_91 - i assumed the BSD indicators to be 12V, as per usual. Hence wiring in the Wing Mirror Cover BSD indicator caused no issues. no errors, or issues working. the original wing mirror BSD indicator is just as bright as it was before i added the additional wing mirror cap BSD indicator. the wiring is simple & straightforward. see pic below of how i connected it up. as for the wing mirror cap mounting clips - yes, that one in the middle is in a different location, hence the black trim piece, behind the mirror glass itself, doesn't clip onto it. however it doesn't matter as the the wing mirror cap is securely fastened on either sides, and around the back. there is no way the mirror cap is coming off, unless of course it gets smashed up in an accident.
  2. 235/45/19 tyres throws the speedo way off as it's much bigger with a 13% thicker sidewall. Have a look the tire size comparison calculator. The 245/40/19 profile will see a sidewall increase of 5%.
  3. Correct.
  4. Thanks. Didn't do it for styling - I mainly did it because I found the little tiny indicator on the wing mirror a bit small, and easy to miss. I wanted something more obvious - hence the fitting the version with the indicator on the wing mirror cover. I'm definitely not changing the mirror glass as my intention was to have both BSD indicators. The cost of a replacement wing mirror is nuts. No point spending money unnecessarily for no benefit. Having both indicators is good because the outside wing mirror one shows other drivers that they're in my blind spot. Then the additional indicator inside the wing mirror cover is so that I can see clearly. Win-win for both parties 🙂
  5. Changed the wing mirror covers on my MY17 Superb to the facelift version, which has the BSD light on the cover. Got it from AliExpress. Good fit. Wasn't plug n play. Happy with the end result. More details about the installation here.
  6. Second attempt was finally successful at giving Gandalf's wing mirror covers a "facelift".... literally. I swapped the wing mirror covers for ones that have the blind spot detection light on the side of the cover. Normally the BSD light is on the outer edge of the wing mirror. On the facelift Superb, the BSD in on inside edge of the wing mirror cover. The wiring harness had to b made as it wasn't plug n play. The new wiring harness takes the power from original factory loom, and splits it two ways - one for the mirror BSD light the other for the cover BSD light. Happy with the end result. Wasn't difficult, but i had to do things nice n slow, n careful so as to not break anything. Wing Mirror covers with BSD light was from AliExpress. Link here. The grey colour is not an exact match. I'll getting this either painted in gloss black or wrapped in black vinyl, soon. The first version I bought last year, from China, was the wrong size. Turns out the Chinese mk3 Superb uses a different wing mirror design altogether!! That was promptly returned. This one fits good and is good quality. Wiring plug/connectors were also from AliExpress. Link here. Some pics of the progress.... The covers side by side New wiring plug connectors, same as the factory connectors. I moved the factory BSD wiring loom from the front to the back of the frame. New wiring harnesses for the wing mirror BSD light... New wing mirror cover in place. There is just enough room for it to clear the frame. New wiring harness - taking power from the existing factory plug, and splitting it for the wing mirror cover BSD and the wing mirror BSD. Setup complete... A short video of it in action....
  7. If it's not lowered u will have no issues. Mine was lowered and with spacers then - still no issues. Mine is now still lowered, but no spacers - no issues.
  8. Many owners with the 19" wheels have switched to 245/40/19 tyres, including myself. It is more comfortable (thicker sidewall), wider, cheaper and more readily available. Speedo is also more accurate. This was when I had the original 19" rims, now I have aftermarket market rims, same tyres though.
  9. I don't believe u can alter this stuff with VCDS. Max height electronically will b less than max height manually. It will b a safety thing, to protect the struts. Do u have a wagon or liftback?
  10. unfortunately i haven't heard good things in the past about the Maxton foglight surrounds. usually poor fit (contour with the bumper) and/or no way to mount/stick them....the later being ur case. i bought mine 5 yrs ago from AliExpress - it came with 3M strips already mounted on the back of it, hence simply unpeel and stick on the bumper. fitment is on point and its still holding up strong, nor has it lost any gloss/shine.
  11. i've been using the first gen AAWireless for almost 4 yrs now - its been flawless, no issues, no lag and so easy to use with my Columbus MIB2 (now MIB2.5 unit). i hear the second gen AAWireless doesn't add any new benefits unless u want easier switching between users/phones. hence i'll continue using my current one.
  12. from wat SashaGrace said - it can be done with a different camera. as i said previously - u cannot use the light sensor on the back of the rearview mirror for HBA.
  13. Look at ur windscreen - if it has a camera like this, then it's the A5 version. Open ur bonnet and look at the white sticker on top of either headlight. If it ends in "A" u have the normal Bi-xenon headlights which can do HBA. If it ends in "B", then u have SLA Bi-xenon headlights.
  14. Thanks @MartiniB for the link to the VW Maps - I've now finally got around to updating my maps to P393 🙂
  15. in Skoda terms, Dynamic Light Assist refers to High Beam Assist (HBA) or Smart Light Assist (SLA). HBA can be coded/enabled provide u have Bi-Xenon (version A) headlights and A5 Camera. SLA uses different version B of the Bi-Xenon headlights, and the same A5 Camera. which one r u referring too?
  16. As per my comment above, u need the A5 Camera to have HBA. The light sensor at the back of the rear view mirror is no good for this purpose. No other way unfortunately.
  17. Plenty of things u could do cosmetics wise.... - black foglight surrounds - front lip - side skirts - rear diffuser - rear spoiler - black wing mirror covers Have a look in the Pictures thread - will give u plenty of ideas of wat others have done.
  18. Condensation in the headlights is normal. Don't worry about it. Don't waste ur time on it. There have been plenty of discussions about this topic in the past, if u search.
  19. @Jaydor - u need to have the A5 Camera, and if light assist is enabled, u'll see either Light Assist or Dynamic Light Assist tick box option under Light Settings in the infotainment menu.
  20. The Vehicle Status screen should tell u which tyre is bad. At least mine used to.
  21. @Ootohere - with a spare tyre on, even after resetting the TPMS, the car still knows u have a spare tyre on because of the difference in rotational speed, and hence it disables the ACC. Reason for this is because ACC automatically applies the brakes to manage the speed, and since the ABS sensor knows about the spare tyre - it can't "safely" regulate the stopping power for ACC. I've personally experienced this with my Superb, when I had the spare tyre on - it would not allow me to use ACC until a full-size tyre was back on. The 02-Trans module reports the following warning:- 10657 - RPM Signal from ECU 03-ABS module reports the following 16401 - Tire Pressure Warning @JK7 - Rear shocks will not impact the TPMS. So don't fall for that one. The mk3 Superb uses the ABS sensors to determine each wheel's rotational speed - this is then used by the TPMS system to determine if a wheel is over or under inflated. If the difference (between the 4 tyres) works out to b equivalent to 4 psi more or less, then the warning will show up. U say u changed 3 out of 4 tyres - even though they're all the same brand and type, and inflated to the same pressure, the older one is more worn-out than the 3 newer tyres, and hence will always rotate at a different speed However this should not b enough to trigger the TPMS. Given u've reset the TPMS, and the warning shows up after a bit of driving, there is something more sinister happening for u. As mentioned above, the ABS sensor could b a likely suspect. Other possibilities could b the wheel hub, or the brakes binding. Either way, not a straightforward resolution for u - sorry.
  22. R u referring to High Beam Assist (HBA)? HBA automatically dips the beam when it sees oncoming traffic, and then automatically resumes it when traffic has passed. If so, u can activate it using OBDEleven or VCDS. I can share the instructions if u want it.
  23. I've always been on 5w-30 since the car was bought new. I don't know why I accidentally wrote "40".....
  24. No need to remove bumper. Removing the wheel arch liners gives U plenty of access behind the headlights.
  25. All Aussie Superbs come with the Sunglasses storage holder fitted as standard. 😉
